  1. I don't think the dialogue is real. This actually made me laugh out loud. All the cats I've ever had have mostly been outside cats. They bury their own poop. Which is of course why cats are better than dogs. I like dogs, but they need constant attention, and that's not something I'm willing to give. I think it's cruel when people get a dog and then just leave it in the back yard for the rest of it's life.
  2. ^ That's not heartburn, you just aren't very good at eating bacon.
  3. On a controller? It'd be a waste of a button to dedicate it solely to a quicksave function. Probably depends on which SC. DA on the 360 allows you to save anywhere, whereas I think the original had save anywhere on PC and checkpoints on Xbox. While I don't like the idea of having to repeat things over and over because of a difficult spot right before the next checkpoint, the reality is that checkpoints haven't proven an issue for me in the majority of games with them, and as such it's not something I can get my knickers in a twist over. I actually like the save system in Hitman: Blood Money. You could save anywhere, but you only had a limited amounts of saves, with the higher the difficulty level the fewer the saves.
  4. Why on earth do you think I'm trying to make you feel bad? I just wanted an answer to something you hadn't yet addressed. I'm fine with life in prison. You've posted two articles you claim support the death penalty. If you believe the death penalty is barbaric, or you feel that any innocents that fall victim to it are unacceptable loses, then individual cases like this aren't going to suddenly change your mind. As such, the only thing these stories do is justify the death penalty in the minds of those that already believe in it.
  5. Yeah, we've already seen it in a video with Mike talking to Sie.
  6. Except he's arguing that the death penalty is cheaper. You may be interested in the philosophy, but wake up to the real world. The real world? First you argue that the existence of criminals who commit terrible crimes supports the death penalty given there is little doubt of their guilt, which doesn't make sense given the law finds you guilty, rather than probably guilty or definitely guilty. Now you're arguing that it's cheaper to kill rather than imprison, but that's only true if the "take 'em round the back and put a bullet in their brain right after being declared guilty" method is used. Not to mention the rather naive view that money saved by executions would instead go to victims and/or their families and others who "richly deserve them". None of this changes that problem with the death penalty that others have already mentioned, that sometimes innocent people will slip through the cracks and be executed for crimes they didn't commit. I take it you think these people are acceptable loses?
  7. So is St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City or is it in Central London? It's like they aren't even trying.
  8. So Conviction is due out in just a few weeks? Something tells me the release date on Gametrailers is wrong.
  9. So you're saying money should play a part in the punishment given?
  10. Possibly. Alternatively it discourages people from talking about it, and thus discourages people from asking for help. The problem is that when a person is suicidal, they're at their lowest point. Whatever their problems are, they no longer feel capable of dealing with them, and the emotions they are experiencing are so strong they no longer feel capable of living with them. When society labels those individuals who commit suicide as cowards then society is simply agreeing with the negative view such individuals have of themselves. "I can no longer cope, I am a coward." "Yes, you are a coward, a selfish coward."
  11. http://www.gametrailers.com/user-movie/sc-...gameplay/319592 If a character just "gets over" the death of a loved one, and it doesn't actually impact the story and the character, then there's really no point in including that death.
  12. I'm guessing the Syriana stuff was from the original storyline by Mitsoda and Carlson. The game might be more colourful now, but I'm not expecting anything so crazy as the NOLF games.
  13. Geez, that's what they've been doing for four games already. You have an irrational dislike for characters displaying anger, but it's hardly an overused stereotype, especially in this franchise. Pointing to games like God of War and Max Payne and claiming the protagonists kill loads of people just because they are angry is a ridiculous simplification of the story lines and characters in such games. In what way is the conflict in Max Payne, for example, "manufactured"? That is, any more than any other game that features the player killing countless enemies?
  14. The Conviction we saw a couple years ago is not the same game we saw at E3 this year.
  15. There is a difference between believing the world would be better off if certain people were dead, and supporting the death penalty. This and similar stories might be evidence of the former, but they do nothing to change the problems already mentioned with the use of the death penalty.
  16. What are these games that feature a protagonist that kills a million people just because he's angry?
  17. Anger is a perfectly normal emotion, emo is a persona you create for yourself. You really think "angry man wants to find his daughters killer" is just as bad as "kid dyes his hair black and complains no one understand him"? It's ridiculous to refer to any angry person as "emo". As far as motivations go, it's a change from the save the world stuff previously seen in the series. If Fisher goes through every mission yelling "Who killed my daughter!" at people, then yes that would get tiresome, but then it's kinda silly to assume that's how it would play out. Ignoring the nonsense about puppies, the information released so far does suggest some kind of conspiracy behind the daughters death.
  18. How does it feel to be WRONG, alanschu? Must really suck to find a game so enjoyab... er...
  19. Angry doesn't equal emo. A murdered daughter is a legitimate gripe.
  20. So you do not have to tie your game to the EA Store? That's right. Which, as that message points out, is just a disc check.
  21. It takes a special kind of abject ignorance to confuse ADHD with laziness these days, given the wealth of neurological research on the topic. Filthy lies, you're a witch!
  22. Looks awesome. This, along with AP are my most highly anticipated. Double awesome. I like the fade to black & white when hiding in shadows rather than a stealth meter. I don't think the point of the chain shot is to make it easier for casual players, rather to allow you to perform a number of actions faster than you normally could. Reminds me of a similar ability in Desperados.
  23. ^ Probably too early for that.
  24. Another problem is if you don't have a credit card and can't buy stuff online. EA obviously didn't think this through.
  25. A Monkey Island without puffy sleeves is a Monkey Island in name only. More remake pics here: http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=63053
