  1. Is it me or does the lucky charm 'skill' seem somewhat OP? Because with just 2 or 3 points in it, you can find craploads of stuff, too much possibly, heh.
  2. Besides, they're designing the encounters and everything else around having five party members. It's not like they're designing around six and sticking the player with five.
  3. Which portrait are you talking about? In the latest one, she looks like a serious no-nonsense Victorian era professor/schoolmarm or what-have-you. The only thing boyish about her is the short hair. The discussion has been meandering more than a river going along a floodplain, so, only the last few pages probably matter here since Ydwin is going to be in PoE2, not returning in some expansion or whatever the title is referring to.
  4. now I can remember obama very openly criticizing fox news, but I can't even remember him threatening to try to shut it down or anything along those lines Here’s a news outlet called “American Patriot”, a name that suggests objective, reasoned and fair discussion like no other, saying that Obama could maybe, in theory, perhaps shut down Fox. http://www.americanpatriotdaily.com/latest/this-obama-scheme-could-shut-down-fox-news/ I find that somewhat ironic because Trump is threatening to shut down media critical of him.
  5. Maybe the Aedyrians used to be a big world spanning empire? If not in territory, then in trade. That's how languages tend to get spread worldwide. Although, the Aedyrian language or some offshoot of it being known everywhere in the world doesn't explain wherever Rekke is from. Or maybe it does, I dunno.
  6. I don’t think he understands when people speak “commmon,” or he would also be able to speak it. I don’t think the Watcher is barking orders in combat either. I know it’s probably not common or galactic basic, I don’t think they ever say what language it is. The "common" language used in the Dyrwood region is actually Aedyrian (since it was formerly a colony of the Aedryran empire), which is english for all practical gameplay purposes. However, since the Aedyr empire isn't a trading empire like the Vailian Republics and doesn't have any sort of presence in the Deadfire archipelago, it's not likely that Aedyrian would be the common tongue, lingua franca, trade tongue, or galactic basic if you will. And yeah, they haven't said what language Rekke does speak since they don't want to spoil things too much.
  7. how so? how do you know? are there much information released about rekke yet that i may missed out? In the fig update which introduced Rekke, it mentions that he speaks a language not known to anybody and doesn't know any of the local languages either. And presumably hasn't had time to learn the local language(s).
  8. Is that like full playthrough completed without crashes? Bugs?.... Backer beta is going to have to be soon anyway if they want to make Josh's self imposed March 2018 deadline.
  9. Maybe it's something we can ask for clarification on, whether and when the devs answer is a given though.
  10. To further elaborate on this, you still have a base of operations (which is what the stronghold was supposed to be), but it's now a ship, and the caretaker/warden lady does go with you. A part of her does at least. You can and will have a ship crew (don't know if you can get away with not having one), pretty much every position that you'd expect a ship of the period to have, and you can add all sorts of rooms and components to the ship. Again, everything that you'd expect a ship of the period to have. The team thoroughly researched ships of the period for this. Also, you start out with a Dyrwoodian sloop (I assume it's the same ship we see in the E3 video), but you can upgrade to bigger ships, there are some secret ships that you can find and accquire, and I hear that you could even obtain a Galleon or equivalent sized ship.
  11. This itself presumably no longer applies though, since it is no longer possible to choose a second class when levelling up. I suppose that means that if you multiclass him one of his classes will have to be a mage. But you don't "multiclass" (verb) now. A character is either multiclassed or they aren't. For example, Eder. When you first meet him you can choose for him to be a fighter, a rogue, or a fighter/rogue. No other options are available, and if you choose fighter he can't at some future point become a fighter/rogue (unless there is a full respec option). IIRC, it's more flexible than that. Eder can be a Figher, a Rogue, a Fighter/[Anything] or a Rogue/[Anything]. Probably doesn't make much sense, character-wise, to make him a Rogue/Priest of Magran, but I think the philosophy here is that it's better to allow players to make these kinds of character-inconsistent and live with the cognitive dissonance than it is to start ruling stuff out. No. He can't. It used to be like that, but if you read the recent update on multiclassing you can see that this has changed. Being multiclassed is now a character creation choice, not something you can choose later. I see, I didn't realize that it was changed like that. Makes sense from a design standpoint I suppose.
  12. That would be a funny crossover, but if there IS a crossover like that, it's going to be pretty subtle.
  13. Oh right, derp, I see his post, but I don't see watershapers guild in that Q&A, and isn't watershaper actually his character specific druid subclass?
  14. That was kind of my thought too, sounded like a group specialized in water based magics, except that there isn't any sort of elemental specialization in PoE1 and I don't see it happening in PoE2 either. So, we'll just have to see what that watershaper guild thing is all about.
  15. They don't even look related at all. I thought Fessina actually looked sorta like Michael Jackson back when he still had dark skin. Also, where is the info that Tekehu is the member of a group called the Watershapers Guild? Sounds like a group specialized in water based magics (which would make sense given their location), but PoE doesn't have that kind of element based specialization. @algroth: It's certainly plausible that Fessina and Pallegina know each other in some fashion, given that Pallegina works with traders and Fessina may still have a ship captian background.
  16. Speaking of the grimoires, I really, REALLY hope that we get to rename the grimoires... Back ontopic, I wonder if we'll see that apprentice of Concelhaut who was trying to perfect weapon summoning. After all, she speaks of returning to her home island and she is Island Aumaua despite the bluish skin coloration.
  17. lol... Though more seriously, they're going to be designing the encounters around a party of five, so, when it's well balanced, things shouldn't be a problem.
  18. Which boss fight are you talking about here? Also, I'm thinking of trying an all (or mostly) summoner team, given how powerful those summons can be. Unless you can't really do it the way like it's done in PoE. Scoundrel also has two actually, one that works similar to battering ram I believe, and one that is like huntsman's tactical retreat. Summoning also has two, but one is too short for outside battle and one costs too much AP to be used in battle.
  19. They're also being accused of wasting taxpayer dollars with the use of private jets for the political stunts. Definetly not the first poilitical stunt, but they're usually subtler and not so egregious, if that's the right word to use. They also tend to be more political rather than nursing an ego bruise.
  20. Seems easier if you pledge to surrender your source, since you're just fighting Braccus.
  21. I don't think they've released a full sized image of Tekehu's portrait, but you can see a small version here. Edit: And he has been confirmed to be a companion. He's also been seen a couple times in recent videos by the team and teasers from Josh Sawyer, and yes, he's one of the confirmed main companions. His backstory is just a mystery to us atm.
  22. Is there a way to make the last boss fight easier? I'm struggling and I'm using explorer mode. edit: wtf, Braccus teleported himself inside a wall....
  23. Does using the Anathema sword with the overpower skill even work? Because I saw one suggestion to use that and it doesn't even work, does the sword even work in the first place? dammit, theres also a bug where if you kill Braccus before stage two starts, it bugs out and combat cannot end, not even if I kill the other party members.
