Plus the fact that some people (nobody on this forum) take the trigger stuff to ridiculous levels, which gives the whole idea a bad name when it's abused like that.

Remove Restrictions and let this game breath
smjjames replied to Goddard's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Speaking of which, there is going to be much more advanced AI scripting for party AI or specific character AI (not sure if it's whole party or specific companion) and you can create your own, so, you should very well be able to do that. Not a huge lot of details on it atm, some mentions in places and Josh Sawyer teased a screenshot of the UI, but it's definetly a thing.

They should listen to themselves, "Dialogue is violence", come on. It's these kinds of idiots that make liberals look bad. well what did the republicans talk about? I mean the right to demonstrate is just as sacred as the right to free speech; and perhaps the repubs did say something worth protesting against. Republican stuff probably? I'm wondering too and wouldn't be surprised if it was something mundane or one of the usual conservative hot topics.

Update #41 - From the Feed of the Director Part IV
Generally the next thing coming up or coming soon, should be the next update given that the beta is going to have to start soon if they want to make Josh's self imposed unofficial March 2018 deadline. Though as Pidesco said, 'upcoming' can be as vague in "how soon" as one wants, but tends to be pretty contextual. And yeah, the beta would generally last a few months, maybe a month, or three, depending on what the devs want to do and how things go.

Game of Thrones faces in Pillars of Eternity
smjjames replied to iscalio's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Same here. About the only similarity are the eye shadows and generally curly hair for the second pair.

Remove Restrictions and let this game breath
smjjames replied to Goddard's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)on the whole subject of pre-buffing, shouldn't it be something that you choose to do and not forced to do because the enemy is also prebuffed? I get that goddard likes to do pre-buffing*, but his original point four pages back is to have choices. Pre-buffing before a boss fight makes complete sense, or when tackling a tough dungeon, but one might not feel the need to do it for regular fights. *Not entirely clear on that, or maybe it's a more situational thing. Seems to also be a discussion between older games and newer ones. Never played Baldurs Gate and other similar games which had pre-buffing required or something along the lines of that, so, I don't have the experience there.

Yeah, none of those things are comparable. I'm just as confounded that that toothpicks have warnings about pointy ends as you are. If they were, I'm still not sure why this is the one where the line must be drawn. I suspect the toothpick thing is because someone tried to sue them over not knowing it was pointy, people can be idiots. Which is why you often see warnings in manuals that seem obvious common sense, because companies need to protect their legal butts from idiots. It's a COMPLETELY different thing from trigger warnings.

Remove Restrictions and let this game breath
smjjames replied to Goddard's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)PoE2 is kind of going for a hybrid option, both going for free use (no per-rest limitations) of spells and abilities while having a resource pool of sorts. And yes, you can use spells and abilities outside of combat, despite goddards insistence that they aren't in PoE2.

Political Ocean's 11
And all of this, this specific fight anyway, would be solved by some tapes (or other form of record) of that phone call, right? Nevermind the implications that the existence of tapes might bring up.
-
Political Ocean's 11
I know the calls are monitored when talking to foriegn heads of state/government, but I don't know about instances like this. There were several people in the room, but they sided with Trump and didn't say anything about the specific words. It's certainly possible that he got misunderstood, easily possible with someone as inexperienced as Trump, but there isn't anything physically or legally stopping him from clarifying his words and correcting the record. Instead, he just goes "WRONG!" and battens down the hatches. Clarifying what he said is so ridiculously easy that I don't know why he can't. Oh wait, I know why, he is incapable of admitting he screwed up, yep.

Political Ocean's 11
Only problem is, there IS no recording of what was said and if the WH has something, they aren't giving it up. I agree that the obvious solution is to look at the phone recording (or transcript or whatever), but as far as we know and has been said, there isn't one.

Marijuana [Hallucinogens] Agenda Deception
Uh, not sure if you're trying to push Obsidian (and their previous incarnation as Black Isle Studios) into some kind of conspiracy theory. Fallout having narcotics and halluconogens isn't surprising considering that there are all kinds of drugs in PoE1, magic mushrooms too. As for the California thing, it's California..... we do wierd things like that on occasion. Seriously, you seem to be pushing some kind of conspiracy, though I don't know whether you're doing it seriously or in an ironic fashion.

Political Ocean's 11
Yeah, and the whole thing with what happened to the four soldiers in Niger is fast becoming Trump's Benghazi, possibly worse, and his handling of it isn't helping, nor is his inability to admit that he screwed up.

Political Ocean's 11
The congresswoman, you mean. And she is believing the family so if there's any lying it doesn't fall at her feet. Though what should happen even if it did? Guess she can be sued and face other non legal fallout. Sued over a he said-she said with no recording (taped or otherwise) and the credibility depends on which political party you're in? It's entirely possible that Trump got miscontrued or misunderstood by the family and the congresswoman, but he's doubling down and not trying to correct the record.

Political Ocean's 11
She's a Representative in Florida, not a Governor, and the widow and the widows mother are coroborrating what the Rep. said. I don't see any reason why the widow or her mother would lie about the phone call.

smjjames replied to Goddard's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Also, you CAN cast outside of combat, you're making no sense and seem to be going out of your way to be sarcastic atm.

Remove Restrictions and let this game breath
smjjames replied to Goddard's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Party members don't randomly come and go in PoE, I don't know what you're talking about with not knowing when one of your party members will leave. Sounds like you're talking about multiplayer, not single player, and I suspect there may be some sarcasm in there.

Remove Restrictions and let this game breath
smjjames replied to Goddard's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)There might actually be such skill checks in PoE2. The video in update 40 shows some passive skills like insight and history and one of Josh Sawyers teasers had some history skill related thing to an item in conversation. Those skills definetly open the possibility. Seems to be a gameplay compromise since they wanted to change the health system from the way it was before.

Game of Thrones faces in Pillars of Eternity
smjjames replied to iscalio's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)If fans want to use those portraits, nothing stopping them, but Obsidian is going to stay away from portraits looking a huge lot like GoT characters because copyrights. Being inspired by is certainly possible though. I don't watch GoT, so, I really have no opinion here.

It does look odd, yeah, the legs are moving too fast for it's actual speed.
