According to this site California seems to have the worst property damage but Texas gets more fires and Oklahoma had the most land burned We're coming off a multi-year drought, but then we had the really hot summer which didn't help things either. The fact that we have a large population and heavy urbanization is also a factor in the property damage. This article explains the various factors that lead up to the fact that we have so high property damage here in California as far as fires go.

Not ALWAYS, but yes, we have a fire season for a reason. Seems like this years fire season has been particularily bad.

Is that platform area going to be used for scripted events like various public events ingame or maybe for non-lethal duels or something. Also, nearly a month ago, Josh Sawyer posted an image of a crew member that recieved no less than seven wounds (don't know if the 'beguiler' bit counts as a wound), does getting injuries at sea work differently than the party getting injuries? Just wondering how you reconcile a crew member having 6 or 7 wounds and not dying while party members can only recieve three before the next one killing them. It's possible that image is of a bug and that crew member is supposed to be dead.

@Archaven: We've had previous troll attempts along that line, so, it might be a defensive reaction to that. @Lephys: Aloth is an elf, so, he gets a pass, still curious myself how Archaven got to 'looks trans'. @HooAmEye: No idea what their update schedule is, they used to do it more times a month but slowed down.

Who's Tayn? A Fallout NPC? Oh you mean Tayn's chaotic orb https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Tayn%27s_Chaotic_Orb That's the only spell with his name though, might not be an archmage. Also, the fancy pince-nez doesn't neccesarily suggest magic, Ydwin has them too and she isn't a mage, though he does have quite a bit of bling what with the gold glasses and the necklace there.

There's also the boosts from resting at an Inn, but they aren't useful most of the time. The only times I ever used any sort of intentional pre-buffing outside of the camping (which isn't in PoE2 I don't think, unless maybe to heal wounds) were some cases where I wanted to make some particular attribute check for conversation or the Dyrford village inn for the +6 burn damage reduction (arguably about the only really useful Inn rest bonus) before fighting the stuff at the hot springs, the dragon there in particular. Though he's a pretty weak dragon compared to those you can meet later on in White March. Honestly though, I'm not sure what they're doing with the camping function now that the per-rest (or Vancian casting, if you will) abilities are now per encounter. It's likely they'd keep it around to heal wounds.

Organization wise, the D:OS2 quest journal isn't bad, the reason it's bad compared to PoE1 is due to the bugs with quests not closing properly and sometimes due to the way each journal entry was written. Also, in a few cases, it closes too soon, like the Missing prisioners one, it closes when you find the fate of the missing prisioners, but you don't get rewarded until you go back and talk to the warden who you got the quest from.

He's answered a couple tumblr questions that show up on twitter, but those links are giving an error atm. Edit: The links on twitter are having issues, but the tumblr page is fine. Question on what prevents souls from becoming extinct (answer, they grow over time and fragment at the end of a lifetime) (not deadfire related, but interesting nontheless) Question on how map encounters work: Question melnorme asked about map encounters on land:

Maybe organizing by region or island would help for Deadfire? Or maybe ones which currently have active objectives in a certain area? Given that we're going to be travelling in a much larger region with many more places to visit, it would definetly be wise to have the quest journal have more organization options.

Which god is that though, Hedhwr? Not Berath as he/she is known by a different name, possibly Magran. I could see Magran asking Berath (since the wheel if reincarnation is Beraths thing) to punish that raider. But then again, the gods had made an agreement of not interfering directly in the mortal realm (which is why they asked the Watcher to do things on their behalf), at least until Eothas broke that.

Although these parties don't want that to be true in future and they do their best to undermine current systems. what system you mean? Democracy? Systems that allow free education and universal health care Not sure about that, do they have it in their policies? Anyway its fine as its based on voter want it that way, its called democracy, still its capitalist versus socialist, nothing far right about it (at least not in term I think most people today relate far right to) For example our "close borders, anti EU, anti immigration" party has cut hundreds of millions from education, health care, created policies to make people get private health insurances in their time in government. During elections they said that they would do opposite, but currently they have been very "right wing" in everything that they have done. Sounds like the Republicans, except that they are more 'secure borders', not outright close them. And I don't think the Republicans have any official platform relating to the EU, it's all individual opinion.

No. The Watcher is still a Watcher at the end of Pillars 1. The cause of their descent into madness wasn't their abilities as a Watcher but rather unresolved conflicts from past lives that their Awakening brought back to the surface. Okay. I was a bit confused as I thought just being a Watcher made you descend into madness. Might have been made unclear by the fact that the only other @atcher we ever meet in the main game had already descended deep into the madness and in White March, it's not clear that the Reaceran guy who is also a Watcher was also suffering from the same madness or not. The fact that being a Watcher tended to be referred to as a grim sentence probably didn't help with the comprehension that it was the unresolved conflicts, not just being a Watcher

This is the likely explanation that they're going to go with, but I note that this is not mentioned at all in the accounts of Aedyran history in the in-game books (1, 2) or in the Guidebook. Actually, look at the last paragraph in the first one: "Conflicts with Kulklin continued, escalating into a minor war in 2398 AI. Afterward, a treaty was signed and the Kingdom of Aedyr merged with Kulklin to form the Aedyr Empire. With the political and military strife now settled, the Aedyr Empire would become an economic powerhouse. Able to provide resources that were hard to find in other parts of the world, their trade routes became some of the most lucrative in the world." They were a major trading nation for a while before they declined for whatever reason and Rauatai and the Vailian Republics filled in the trading power vacuum. it doesn't straight out say that they were a world spanning trading empire, but it does imply that they were a powerful trade powerhouse at one point. And to be fair, the histories are pretty focused on the Eastern Reach and the Aedyr Empires dealings and history in the region, not their past as a trading powerhouse. Except, don't we get cured of being a watcher? Like we would no longer have those abilities? or maybe it was just the hallucinations that were cured, not sure.

I initially read that as Batman references and got confused what Austria would have to do with Batman. Didn't they have a first round or something before the German elections though? I remember some stuff going on with Austrian politics shortly before the German one, but it wasn't anything big, dunno. I think it was the Austrian President. Austria is certainly following the trend of far-right revival in Europe. And again, theres another leader who is really young, maybe at this rate we'll get a young President come 2020.

Would be nice if the final fight with Braccus wasn't so cheesy in favor of Braccus There's also a bug where if you manage to kill him (via a dialogue option) before the second part starts, it freezes into combat mode, so, there isn't even THAT out.
