  1. Problem is it's fairly consistent with the book. Which is both good and bad. Bad in that it has pacing designed for a book not TV. As far as fantasy elements, it's pretty much low fantasy and the supernatural plot will be in the background for a long time.
  2. KOTOR2: I liked it more than the first.
  3. I think first and foremost things should be smart, nuanced, deep, well executed, etc. Get those right and you wont even notice that on the surface it's been done before, more than once. Planescape Torment plot hinges on amnesia, which is pretty clich
  4. But "happy" is still too broad. Even Torment could be defined as "happy" in its best ending.
  5. The only thing that matters is execution. Broadly defined, everything is clich
  6. Yeah. Diablo 1 had the best atmosphere. It's a shame they are going for the more flashy cartoony feel.
  7. I remember the cinematics from earlier Diablo titles being some of the best around.
  8. I know it's silly to complain about realism in Diablo. But... dual-wielding automatic crossbows... wtf.
  9. Those "secrets" are laughable compared to what you can find on Russian news sites. Don't say anything that isn't already common knowledge and give no actual credible evidence. This whole recent wikileaks is a fluke, at least as much as Russian files are concerned.
  10. Yes. As heard from people who've actually been there before and after. You could walk the streets freely, there was order, now there are people with guns on every corner and death. Lofty ideals are the last thing on someone's mind when they go through that, trust me.
  11. Life in Iraq now is far worse than it was under Sadam. But now they can vote, and that makes it ok.
  12. I'm exactly the opposite. I cannot force myself to read anything unless it's really good. But I can listen and watch almost anything and if it is well presented that adds something for me.
  13. I thinks it's just a certain style with design and music which does little to underline any darkness the setting has that makes you think everything is sweet and perky in DAO land more than everyone being happy objectively.
  14. NWN2 was better just for the fact that it had far superior party of companions compared to the henchmen of NWN1.
  15. I'm going to miss games with 30+ people. I like my cannon fodder to be abundant.
  16. I thought NWN1 HoTU was better than NWN2.
  17. Because they are poorly balanced. In D&D social skills for some builds are also their combat skills. I'd say either keep them separate or don't use at all. Just making choices fits fine with what I understand as role playing. Conversations in most rpgs aren't even defined by your stats, those checks only show up sometimes.
  18. I recall some fairly well made NWN modules that did not have any loot in random barrels in the street and it worked just fine. But all in all that's really a non issue at least to me. And I had always hated any use of stats in conversation ever since Planescape Torment essentially forced me to play a mage or be screwed of all the meaty conversation options.
  19. He begins by sighting the much worshipped Baldur's Gate. Didn't that have all the same problems?
  20. They are exactly the same formula just with different guns.
