Funnily enough all this will probably make the game more successful than it ever had a chance of being without all the crybabies.

No one is the best person that's the point. I would not decide for you and no one should decide for me. No. You're only saying that because that is the decision you agree with. Valve isn't some magical entity that "knows best" and no one should accept anything without logical and consistent justification. They are a distribution platform, not society's nanny. And thanks for confirming you are pro censorship. Makes things more clear.

No. We can decide for our selves what's appropriate for us and what's not. We absolutely should not support this. Steam is too big and too important to let the moral police decide what choices an individual is permitted to have. Explain to me why is it necessary that your opinion gets to decide for other people?

Will Games Make Sci-Fi Novels Obsolete (or have they already?)
Fighter replied to Guard Dog's topic in Way Off-Topic
No. But there is no doubt less people read when alternative entertainment options are plentiful -
As long as the regular sales keep feeding us cheap games they can go on calling him that.

They just did exactly that. The game ranked #7 was banned and it was done in anticipation of bad press.

Positive reception from who? The gamers or the journos?

What people complain about is quality though. Not subject matter. EDIT: This basically.

Oh my... If there were homosexual prostitutes you could actually kill them. I haven't thought of that. The outrage would be cosmic.

Yes we have. In fact most people are pro innovation and diversity. Most people want to see different protagonists and games that have more than violence. Just not pro censorship rhetoric. And it is censorship rhetoric even if it's not being pushed through laws but instead through intimidation by people who increasingly have the power to brand someone a bigot and destroy their public reputation. Not pro hating on existing content and deciding that grown up people are children and the entire entertainment world needs to act like a good parent.

The Equalizer. A few nice action sequences but the movie is too masturbatory over how awesomely awesome and impervious its main character is.

This is the internet you cannot control what people do nor can you be expected to. People have done terrible things for the most noble reasons. Case and point the doxxing of completely random posters for "Social Justice". You want to pin something on someone pin that on your own forehead.

Removing hookers from GTA would be very jarring. Because yes they are a stereotypical part of that kind of world and setting (also a long time part of GTA) and making the game world more sterilized by removing elements only makes it less authentic. GTA is a rough setting and if you can't handle that kind of rough settings don't play it. Period.

WTF kind of way is that of talking about another nation.

I envy you North Americans your low prices on hardware. 140$ for an SSD? I wish.

Gamergate at least openly condemns harassment and made actual attempts to police those who engage in it. I'm not seeing any game media types speaking out against those among them who openly excuse doxxing and harassment of GG-ers and that includes some pretty well known people.

And there it is.

Huh... I linked it of google images. I'll link another one. Except I can no longer edit the post....

I guess smoking is alright if you know you'll never be close enough to smell it on her breath or taste it on her lips.
