I could load up Skyrim. Run around town and axe murder every woman I see. Skyrim has decapitations by the way. I can then rob them, undress them to their underwear and drag their dangling dead bodies to pile them in the town square where I can burn them with magic. And oh yeah, with that one certain quest for a certain deity I can also feed on their naked corpses to get a bonus -- thus cannibalism of your defiled murder victims is directly encouraged. Oh, and I can take their souls as I kill them. That's without any mods. If we are talking about the things that a game lets you do as being "problematic" GTA has nothing on Skyrim.

Yes they did. They made a blatantly ignorant decision.

To be fairly honest... Yeah I do care about many things that are a daily part of my life more than going to Mars. I live down here and they are going somewhere far away up there and it will affect my personal comfort little. Edit: Check out the overpriced camera. I bet he paid all that cash for asinine hipster reasons so he could have a modern one look like an old classic or some such...

Who would that be? And lets hear this list of demands and determine how popular they are. Well exactly, Pillars of Eternity is being made, it is a real thing. For ages? Talk is cheap. Perhaps the time for those games has come exactly now which is why you are seeing all these crowd funding successes and the niche is being filled. If your so much smarter why aren't you making millions running these companies.
-
Firstly, that demand is being fulfilled. Second, if there is an unoccupied profitable niche that has no other competition people will jump at the opportunity quickly and if they don't then it's not as in demand as you think. Oh yeah I do remember Leigh Alexander being different once upon a time.

Prostitutes are an aknowledged part of reality in GTA 5. And their murder. Which you are under no obligation to commit.
-
How about create demand for the things you want and **** off from things other people want?

It is a ridiculous and pointless extremist argument that, yes, I don't really want to engage with. But ok, in principle yes I do think no subject matter should be forbidden in fiction, no matter what. No serious developer will ever make a child rape simulator outside of obscure Japanese hentai games and none will ever become popular.
-
Sure they are. Does he actually support content being decided purely by silent consumer choices or does he have his own standard he wishes enforced? Would it having millions of dollars in marketing affect his perception of its production/distribution? What if it became really popular and the majority of games followed suite featuring simulated child-rape, would he still silently buy from an ever decreasing market of non-rape games or would he say "What the ****? Piss of with the rape." Are you kidding me?
-
Would you support a child-rape simulator? A holocaust simulator? That's a ridiculous hyperbole. Let's ban unhealthy foods because... cocaine?
-
So two groups of people doing the exact same thing for the exact same reason but one is just paranoid lunatics and the other has legitimate concerns? Solid logic. How about make your own choices about what to consume. How %&$#ing difficult is that?

"It's not censorship because it's not the government" seems to be the flavour of the day excuse. And it's nonsense. This atmosphere of outrage mongering that gets things taken of shelves, makes them less available, thus makes them that little bit less competitive in the free market. This is the attempt at a modern form of censorship. Period.

Family values is treating other adults like your children it seems.

Tell me again how they are not pro censorship...

Women ruining our video games. I knew it!

That stupid sword isn't even practical. The cross-section of what would be the hand guard is not protected by energy. Why do they have to keep making this gimmick-y crap. Just stick to the classics.
