  1. I wish I had some Fireball!
  2. On my way home with my copy of SpiderMan, guess what I'll be playing when I wake up?
  3. I'm inb4 the "This is an rpg forum, we don't like First Person Shooters because it's cool to hate Call Of Duty and Battlefield, especially because I'm an rpg gamer. Also I'm too old to keep up with that crap!" usual response from members on the forum Battlefield 3 was indeed a good game, though the last game I bought was BF1942 which you could play with bots, I did get a chance to play BF3's single player campaign on PS3. I liked what I played, the variety of levels and gameplay mechanics is a great example of why FPS is still the most successful genre. Additionally, it reminded me of Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 for some reason, which I loved. I never played BF1 or Hardline though.
  4. I think it's 15% off but if you get the coupon from Steam, it's 30% discount
  5. ^Reminds me so much of 80's/90's B-movies I used to see. Plus it has Becky G (if you don't know she is, google is your friend). Interesting...
  6. I saw the first episode of The Purge, it was okay. I liked what I saw even though it was slow building. It only has 10 episodes so I was expecting it to start with a bang but looks like they intended to re-introduce what The Purge means, what it is.
  7. Look at how old he got
  8. It's always entertainment when two of the industry's most horrible rappers try to diss each other. As we wait for the response to MGK (A nobody) from the has-been worshipped by old folks (Eminem), who was seen playing Pac-Man earlier today.... Smart people suspect this is a publicity stunt to keep Em and MGK current, and afloat in trending articles. One would assume he is sending a message through playing MGK's favorite video game.
  9. Some of the celebrity deaths which were deemed suicides weren't actually suicides. Margot Kidder and Dolores O'Riodan were just recently deemed non-suicidal deaths by the very people who said it was so. Point being, suicide isn't always the case but it's an easy go-to if the person had a history with mental-illnesses or diagnosed with depression or similar disorders.
  10. Forgot to post my source: Of ciurse you can find the info on THQ's website as well.
  11. Sure thing!
  12. Just heard about the oped deal, thought I'd swing by to read all the ridiculous comments and get a few chuckles. I wasn't disappointed
  13. "We are beyond proud to announce that THQ Nordic has acquired the Kingdoms of Amalur IP among other assets from 38 Studios." -THQ Nordic In other words, expect a new Kingdoms Of Amular game very VERY soon
  14. Steam has a Paradox sale, get a massive doscount on Battletech or pay the price later....
  15. The freedom to shape your story....
  16. @Ktchong Hello friend, I'd have to disagree on a few of your opinions here. Seems to be just the usual nostalgia-based opinion we hear time and time again and I'll explain why, swiftly. Adressing the biggest Dianoga in the room... The classic trilogy is just as bad as the newest (Disney) Star Wars movies in every way. Somwhow, as nostalgic/classic fans, we tend to have a desire to discard a franchise or parts of it when we don't like where the lore is or how it's being handled. We'll whine about the films we didnt like and excuse the errors of the older ones we do like in a desperate attempt to prove our point. If we are going to be realistic about the lore and the delusion of it being ruined, we can agree that the lore was always this way, meant to be this way. As a massive fan of Star Wars myself, I often carry the burden of being blunt about this with fellow fans and acknowledge the fact that story was never the strong-point of the humbled space opera. It's not that the story is getting ruined, people are just getting tired of a franchuse that was predictable to begin with. For that reason, it's not sad to see the popularity for movies dying off. It always was strange to me - as well as plenty of Star Wars fans how Vader being revealed as Luke's father was considered a plot-twist/climax. It was so forseeable that it was comparable to Palpatine being "revealed" as the sith lord. Additionally, purist fans hare to come to reason and accept the fact that Jar Jar became pivotol despite the unapprovaple and Pod Racers and Starfighters are now just as iconic as the tie fighters/x-wings to boot. Hardcore fans such as myself long for the inclusion of plot-hole fillers and that's where other means of mediums spaces comes in (Books, Video Games, Comics, Cartoons), which are and always have been more important than the classic movies and modern ones. All the same. Most fams who can't accept the new lores and cling to the old films do not even delve into the lost lores , it's very sad. Further on, and into the Hutt's lair.... If we open our minds a bit, and learn to see if we can appreciate the films for ourselves instead of going by reviews or others' opinions, you may find yourself surprised, pleasantly surprised at how close the production quality of the new Star Wars films really are compared to the older ones - no better, no worse. I suspect if we had the old Star Wars films released now, they would get the same feedback, legacy can be such a blinder. This seemingly well applies to critics as well. Is/Will the franchise REALLY die? The answer is: Only on the big screen which is the lesser importance anyway. As said earlier, Star Wars is making money through other means, Disney and LucasFilm are well aware of this. They're very smart, the fall of Star Wars' success on the big screen wasn't anything that's surprising. So the fact that old-school fans hate that Star Wars as a whole is making far more money now than ever is yet another thing to whine about. The name isn't in any danger and I doubt it will ever be. Lastly, there is no need to use big fonts, some of us are old yes but these old eyes have seen many things and still see as well as they did in the yester years of travels to Deagostini. Okay Gweedo, it's been a pleasure. Lord SM117 out but spectating (as always).
  17. Sexy beam is not so sexy anymore.... Also, Martina's Tranny Suit in DQ11 was not featured in the video... Weird.
  18. You mean mouse+keyboard friendly? Ohhh.. I could never go back to that after making the switch to controller
  19. One of the best (and best looking) games of the year just keeps getting better! A very interesting castle siege game... Hmmm.
  20. Heh... Nevermind, found this. It very much looks just as awful as the old ones. How disappointing. Was hoping for high res pixel art or hand-drawn art to match the trailer's look at least. At least this one is being touted for being more difficult and longer than th3 others. At least it has that going for it. Edit: God the music and sound effects are absolutely horrid.
  21. Finally, an interesting and genuine space game... I speak for all of you when I say "I am looking forward to seeing more of this!" Meh... Old-Skool but will it actually be good or will it be overhyped and oveerated like the old ones? We shall see.
  22. Retro gamers tend to gravitate more towards the handheld versions, more hardcore rpg players tend to stay with the console versions and ignore the handheld versions altogether. The phone (iOS/Google Play) versions are for the most ancient of deeicated franchise fans. Touch controls are amazing. When are they not? Well, it's not surprising that the majority of pre-orders in the West for DQ11 are from newcomers who have never played a DQ game before but maybe are getting it for other reasons - maybe simply because it's a Jrpg, maybe it's because of the beautiful art style, maybe because akira toriyama was involved or other reasons. Apparently there is a 3DS version for DQ11 but it's ugly (as expected). The top screen is 3D and the bottom is 2D pixel art which shows exactly what you're doing in real-time, this was done specifically to cater to retro gamers to offer the best of both worlds, just don't expect it to be in any way pretty - even for general sprites. There was a Switch version but it seems there has been alot of development hell with it so it's very quiet, I don't suspect we will hear many news about it until far after the PS4/PC versions are released. The console/PC version of DQ11 is also the first in the series to feature lip-syncing which is bigger than fans of the series care to admit. The goal here was to make the game appeal to modern Jrpg gamers and it works well in doing that. Time will tell if it is successful enough in sales but it's looking to do well, reviews seem to be good enough. Then again, we've seen games fail miserably without reason lately so there's always a possibility of being the last DQ we get over yonder. Either way, make way for a colorful addition to Jrpg's!
  23. On Asian market I believe (DQ10 was on WiiU and PS4, DQ9 was on 3DS, they were Japanese language only) , so it doesn't really count for 90% of gamers - even if 90% of DQ's fanbase in Asia based. They've stated several times that if DQ11 does well in the West that they will do proper (actual) releases for both 9 and 10. We'll see if they will stay true to their word though.
  24. It surely helps that the same artist who came up with the character designs for Dragon Ball Z is the same artist for Dragon Quest XI.
