  1. I suppose this is where one such member would come in and say: "Never trust someone who puts Skyrim and Dragon Quest in the same sentence" Or "Never trust someone who can't tell the difference of their and they're and use capitalization. hurhur" Where is that person anyway? The one who always finds something to argue about, forgot his name. He disappeared right before I became a member. Hmmm...
  2. I seem to remember it coming in shortage of stock. A large percentage of buyers were not nostalgic gamers but scalpers who had no interest/knowledge of gaming, all they knew at the time was that the stock would be in shortage - which is was, it wasn't because it was selling like crazy. https://www.geekwire.com/2018/nintendos-nes-classic-returns-stores-massive-hype-limited-run-going-fast/ That only tells me the market is far different from say, a nostalgic system in which people would have to be rooted in nostalgic presence to be remotely interested in, such as the system I posted. That conclusion is only ethical since we know scalpers will not be interested in such a system. It tells true to how niche the nostalgic gaming console commumity/interest really is. Not saying that the interest generated in which is quality which drives it. There are too many variables which are to be excused/considered, misplaced or even misdirected. More info here: https://youtu.be/hIGBccw_vL8 So this is what happens when marketing, legacy, hype and other things are used to push interest and demand. I don't really count that as true interest in nostalgic gaming. It's closer to peer pressure than self-induced. If we had an awesome 16-Bit system with great games which were on cartridge, from a group of nobodies, I doubt anyone would care. In fact we've already seen this as a reality. Producing a shortage, watching people get angry and then using that to say "We're bringing our product back due to popular demand" certainly does sound good for headlines though lol As far as which systems are better, I agree, there isn't really a better or but exclusives to me will always make or break my bias and my piggybank. I'm 32 and will always favor Sonic over Mario and Sony exclusives over PC's best and Xbox's greats... Til they prove me otherwise. I will probably be this way til the day I die but that said I enjoy all equally at the end of the day. Edit: ^Look at my essay, it really is beautiful!
  3. So is this a technical complaint or one about the world crafted within the game? Either way, seems like something small and reminds me of something I would see in the "My gripe with dialogue wheels" thread. I don't see how it would ruin immersion for me, (personally). Lara is learning how to read the 3 ancient dialects on location but that doesn't mean she can't speak the primary one already (You don't have to read a language to speak it properly/fluently and intelligently). It really isn't that much different from where I live in America (Spanish is the primary language, vast majority of population does not speak English but understand it perfectly). Yet, the Spanish seperations in dialects are very different on paper because each seperate community has it's own slang. For example, if you learned our specific dialect and crossed the border to Mexico, you would be able to talk to them but slang and shortcuts would be completely, they would look at you like you were from another planet. Additionally, different locales of Spanish learnt results in an accent that changes the sounding of words upon being spoken. In some cases you will better understand a frenchman on paper and spoken words than you will a person of own native language whose accent and slang were from a different region - same can be said for English. There's that widespread possibility creeping up on English-only speaking people who do not have the experience or knowledge to know the difference, which is excusable but this knowledge comes from being able to travel as well. #SonicsSoundLogic But back unto the game itself, so far so good, I think it's definitely much better than the first two games, it stands out enough to give me a totally different experience. I only played a bit because I'm still enjoying Spiderman - probably more than I should hehe And I'm pretty sure that the lower metacritic score being exclusive to PS4 was obvious - it is only because Spiderman nabbed the attention.
  4. I have heard that as well. Hmmm... Seems there are more legit reasons why text shouldn't match up with voice lines than why they should - regardless of the argument. Interesting discussion nonetheless.
  5. That's not to mention that the market for such a system as the SNES Mini is far different from that of which is the system I posted. Being that the SNES Mini is an officially licensed Nintendo product under limited run changes the aspect of product sale and motive of purchase quite a bit. Tis only natural but inarguable on any ground.
  6. The gamer struggle: When life tells you that laziness doesn't and never will equal progression *Community whines at the harsh reality of truth in life*
  7. It's okay, you can lower and raise the difficulty at any time if it becomes a problem
  8. https://comicbook.com/gaming/2018/09/11/-marvel-spider-man-new-game-plus-mode-coming/ New Game+ mode coming to one of the best games this year (Spider-Man PS4) will feature minor changes to main storyline and other new things to discover.
  9. One of the year's best games also has one of the best cosplay suits ever made. Coincidence?
  10. The successor to the Yakuza series with much improved combat. Yet another exclusive that proves that Sony has better games than anything on PC or Xbox. Sony be killin it.
  11. Looks very good, lotta Japanese mechs, no American or European mechs = Win. The top seller of 2019, no need to doubt it.
  12. Already looks to be better than the rpg's that released this year. Looking forward to it!
  13. When have I ever lied to you? Gamestop, Obsidian forums members, IGN - I place all in the same bracket. I have never been afraid to post the news which causes fear and controversy. It's what makes me stand out from the others and notably makes me unloved. I'm okay with this, nobody from the forum is keeping my bed warm at night #SonicMageOnARampage
  14. I want them to make a new Battlefield with single player only. I think it would be nice.
  15. "Of the year" Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't count, won't be released for another couple years (if everyone is right in speculation), maybe even more. By then something more popular will come out and outsell Cyberpunk 2077, i.e Elder Scrolls VI and such.
  16. "The best selling game of the year will be Red Dead Redemption 2, no other game will come close. Especially not some exclusive" "Hold my beer" -Insomniac http://www.ladbible.com/technology/gaming-spider-man-becomes-fastest-selling-game-of-year-20180910?source=gamingbible PS4 already surpasses multi-system best seller Far Cry 5 in sales. That is pretty impressive considering.... I am curious to see how RDR2 will do in comparison
  17. Still the new Spider-Man on PS4, I wouldn't doubt if this game surprised everyone and won more game awards than Octopath and Deadfire at VGA. Although the combat is very similar to Arkham, it's also much faster and much easier to die. You will die alot, even on the easiest "Friendly Neighborhood" difficulty. Unlocking suits also unlocks new powers and you are able to craft new gear that you acquire through finding/retrieving collectables hidden throughout the open world. I don't think most people who are playing the game actually realize that the game's collectable structure/system (not locations of them) is identical to Lego Marvel Super Heroes. I like this. There are bases for you to capture, newspapers to collect, backpacks to find, research station missions, challenge missions on top of the side missions, crime-waves, a secondary storyline and the main story. The game is packed woth content open world Lego game style and it shows. The only thing that's missing from that classic open-world Lego formula would be races and that's likely only because the game is single player. Controls are hit and miss, perfection in combat but traversal is a bit boggy. This is a side-effect of having so many damn moves and animations while running and swinging. The open world is full of life, there's not really anything bad anyone can say about it. Put's GTAV and Watch Dogs 2 to shame, you can see cops arresting criminals, chasing stolen cars, giving people tickets, people will chase you down if they don't like you, or ask you for an autograph. Stop by to help serve at the soup kitchen, interupt a backetball game... It is lively. And if police ask for help and you say yes and bail, it ruins your reputation. It affects you later but I can't spoil just how exactly. Day/Night cycle? Yes, there is one... but it's not what you'd think. The day/night only changes according to where you are in the storyline, meaning that you can run around in the open world forever but the sun/moon won't move. So maybe there is something people will complain about as far as the open world after all Main story and side missions are not replayable after you beat them but there's a good reason for it. NYC is always changing, if you fight a boss and it blows up the building where you did a mission, it well, if that, nevermind. I've updated the game, fixed some graphical glitches and frame issues but loading is still annoying. Every time you go into or out of a building, there will be loading screen. Graphically, one of the best I've ever seen. This should not surprise anyone since it's a Sony exclusive with an engine built ground up for PS4 hardware. Just as any other exclusive on PS4, kicks the crap out of anything on Xbox One or PC. Putting that old laptop hardware and cores to good use I guess. It's nice I can pause the game, go to photo mode, zoom in 200x and see every stitch/thread on clothing or pore on a person's face in real time. The engine is that good Sound is good, cinematic through a 5.1 DTS system. Nothing to complain about. #PS4GreaterGamesAwait
  18. I don't think "Glass him" takes much intelligence to understand, even for someone who's secondary language is English or has poor English, the less wording the better. My opinion is that it is just nitpicking, I mean I can understand how it can annoy people but it's not needed, it's being made a bigger deal than what it's worth - especially since there are far more important things in rpg's which need to be fixed/worked on. Edited for spelling issues (Damn these lagging smartphones).
  19. I found that odd too, coming from someone who really enjoys the new Tomb Raider games. My gripe with Rise was that it was way too similar to the first - even if everything was improved upon. It "almost" frlt unneeded because it was so similar. Shadow isn't really similar at all, actually it seems closer to Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell in some respects. I'm glad the trilogy has come to the end. I'm also glad old-school raidomg and exploration is back. I hope now that the new ones move forward into a more experienced Lara (years into her future) or maybe the next game will be a prequel to before she started her journey to become the Tomb Raider. I'd be happy with that as well.
  20. Made with the highest-quality parts, plays NES, SNES, SEGA Genesis, Sega Saturn, Neo Geo, Turbo Graphix, and more. It's the ultimate wet dream for the nostalgic gamer. Plays cartridges and cd's. More info in the video: That said, I cannot see this being successful for the likes of having such a nostalgic base. The irony is that there is a large community for nostalgic games but nobody wants to try something new to play something old. Even when emulators are always trash, gamers typically want the cheap way lol In that we see the swift poetic justice of the egostrigic hypocrisy.

  22. I never finished it but I think that was only because I had a few other games I was playing at the time. There was alot to like about the game, the combat and character designs though I found the overall art to be lacking. McFarlane did a good job if putting in small details that no other rpg still yet care to include. That much is true. Am personally very much looking forward to the new game, hoping the art is similar to Darksiders 3-ish. Whether a card game, a mobile game, an mmo or a single player action/rpg, I trust it will be well done, for THQ Nordic does great things with ip's.
  23. Possibly the lowest bar in history. There are around alot of open world Spiderman games and so far only 3 of them have gotten bad "bombing" reviews (70% and below). The average metacritic for Spiderman games sits at around 80%.
  24. I'm a few hours in and so far it's definitely the best open world Spiderman game. There are definitely things that it has in common with the Arkham series, combat feels very much like Arkham as does movement. There's also tons of environmental takedown. Combat is fluid but there is also a slow-down mechanic that is similar to that of Shadow Of Mordor which I have not yet fully learned how to utitlize yet because instead of just being used for attacks you can use it for to do some movements as well. The things that have surprised me so far is the sheer amount of animations they put into Spidey, giving him more character and personality than any previous game. Also, New York does really feel alive and that's a hard thing to pull off considering how many large open worlds feel empty and lifeless. In-game/in-engine cinematics trigger when you reach a destination and seemlessly interweave within the gameplay. If there is one thing that I had to say bad about the game, it's the loading and the frame dips. I should mention that I'm just now downloading the day1 patch with is 4 Gb, I'm hoping this solves the issue because that slight drag during cinematics makes it obvious that optimization may have been rushed. Besides that, swinging around around NYC never felt so good. The swinging may not have that same "cinematic flair" camera like Spiderman 2 but you can tell the effort that went into the game to make the player feel like they are Spiderman as much as possible, was a huge effort. I have yet to find or unlock a new suit, I hear they add new abilities though so there is a bit of that old upgrade your Spiderman that older games are known for
