Hahaha. Did you read the actual developer quote where he explicitly admits that the fact that stats are saved only for the host in a multiplayer game is a design decision? The only way you "weren't affected" is if you somehow, magically, got hit by an undocumented glitch that wrote a whole new savestate function out of nowhere and applied it to the host's game, thus preserving your character's stats when you reconnected. More likely, you're just making stuff up. As I said, I'm shocked. "Blablabla the developer released early because oh they couldn't resist the pressure from big bad gamers demanding at gunpoint." Who cares. Desyncs, instability, inventory and UI glitching, and so on strongly suggest that the game wasn't ready for release, at least as far as multiplayer is concerned. I didn't buy it (got it as a gift from a friend that wanted to play co-op), but if I did, I would have refunded it already. And what the hell has Grimoire got to do with anything? I don't think you comprehended what I wrote. I never said that stats weren't saved only by the host? I said not everybody was affected by losing their stats in the crash, not eberybody is suffeting the sane results and actually I did document it lol I'm glad you said that. Here is a pic of my proof, for your pleasure. It's not like I'm pulling this all of my butt, again I'll say that the vast majority are unaffected I'm not excusing the devs or the build but they did give us a different build than planned and that was a publisher choice. I'm not sure why you're trying to make me appear as a liar when most people are saying the same thing as me ^__^ I brought up Grimoire because of the snide remark about the forums. People were angry on Grimoire's forums for legit bugs and glitches. People are angry for The Escapists 2 because some people are losing stats in mp from a random crash which affects some people. The rest of the bugs, such as the unoccuring bedsheets are not bugs, people just didn't know that was intended as it was unclear and many things have changed. Take a closer look ad you'll see that more people are not experiencing stat loss from the crash than who are. That's saying something at least lol

Yeah, it's currently a buggy mess though. And the whole "progress is only saved for the host" not-a-bug-actually-a-feature thing is just brilliant, guys! Worth $20... in six months, maybe. I've only had one crash so far, I wasn't hosting but I didn't lose any. It seems to be an isolated issue (affecting select players). Other than the one crash I encountered I haven't found any bugs but then again I only have 8 hours worth of play and 30 achievements out of the 50 so maybe there is something I don't know yet. Either way to me it's been one of the best games I've played this year. Uh, no bro, it's not an "isolated issue affecting select players". It's by design: "In multiplayer, only the host's stats are saved currently - by design. Items are left behind via a swag bag though." http://steamcommunity.com/app/641990/discussions/0/2579854400753208720 I'm really surprised that the game is flawless for you, despite the general whining and moaning about various issues in the discussions area, and instability that is apparently significant enough that developers have promised to be working on a day 1 patch to address. Positively shocked. But I guess it's just "something about these boards" or whatever, right buddy? Like I said I have received the error and it didn't affect me, there are plenty of other players who have not been affected by this either. You can be sarcastic all you want lol Nothing about the boards, more like the problem is an unstable build but you're forgetting that we got the early build as Team17 gave into releasing the game early for the fact that people were complaining that youtubers got t play the game early and pre-purchasers didn't. Did you forget about that? I guess I did my homework but I was also there when all this was said and done as well, you're making it look like the vast majority are saying the game is broken which is untrue. The vast majority of online players haven't faced the problems which is why they're speaking up on it. It seems to be 50/50 but regardless the game is getting patched today or tomorrow, like I said we got the early build since it released ahead of schedule. I mean, its not like reviews didn't dive down to 40% positive like Grimoire if that's what you're impliying. Simply don't buy it if you think you'll experience the current possibility of bugs that some are facing

I put 5 hours into The Escapists 2 today... what a blast. I originally wrote a long negative reviee for the first game which featured a list of cons. Much to my surprise the devs/pubs fixed everything and I mean EVERYTHING on my lomg list of cons in the review. It's very addicting and totally worth the $20.00 price tag (even if it is a pixelated game with poor artwork).

Pictures of your Games Episode IX - The Bigger Picture
SonicMage117 replied to Rosbjerg's topic in Computer and Console
Hello it's me again, I believe the game is Tomb Raider, the reboot of the franchise. It tells the coming-of-age story of Lara Croft. The scene depicted is when she had to parachute at a low level location full of pines. It appears that she missed a turn and landed in some sharp wooded branches which, at the velocity she was gliding, impaled her - killing her almost instantly. She has the tools to climb mount everest comfortably but not to save herself from large logs and pointy pieces of wood Wait... what did I just say? -
I have a central air unit outside a quarter deep in my backyard and 2 box fans in my computer room. Unfortunately none of that will help with a metal/tin roof of a farm house. The downstairs is freezing while the upstairs is hot, in the winter it's the opposite, it's freezing upstairs while the downstairs is warm. Fortunately, heat rises so I bought a portable fireplace which works well in winter. There's nothing that can really help, I suppose I could buy an AC and install it in the window but that would cause the electric to go up probably around 300% as I would be likely to become addicted lol I don't like to use box fans or industrial fans because I don't use headphones for gaming and the noise is loud, I have musicians ears syndrome which makes me sensitive to certain frequencies. We've had silent fans in the past but those aren't even worth it sadly as they break to easily. The legend of the metal roof but hey, despite all that, it's still better than shingles and tiles in every way! So no regrets, perfect roof and ideal for huge storms anong others things :D
-
I'm the same way. My reason is that, even though we have central air central here, my house has a metal roof and since both computers and desks are upstairs, that means the updtairs gets crazy hot regardless of what central air is available. So I play less when it's hotter as well for fear of overheating or something.

All the arena and story dlc's come free in the game of the year edition and since you can get the goty edition for $4.99 on sale I'm not sure why dlc for Borderlands 2 is a bad thing. When dlc is this plentiful and this well done, it easily outweighs the base game and should be treated as so. Kinda like how The Witcher 3 dlc's are better than the base game. Still, the base game of Borderlands 2 is well crafted so the fact that the dlc is even better is a testement to the developers.

ME:A = the new GTA... coincidence? Of course not but at least GTA is a fun open world -__-
-
It was a well-crafted game. The loot was randomized, 50% pointless, 50% useful. Just as any other game with randomized loot. But the story was great, I agree with people here saying that it was obnoxiously written with comedy and goofy silly themes but that's what it was going for and everything it did, it did well. You can play it without large amounts of grinding if you know what you're doing as well but the dlc is what takes Borderland 2 to the next level. The thunderdome arena was phenomenal all by itself.

I said underrated "here" as in this particular forums (the obsidian forums), which it is. I don't expect most people here to like it based on their likings but that doesn't make it a bad game. The hype was good and the reviews were well deserved, it wasn't over-hyped by any means, it pretty much defines the rpg/fps genre and has spawned countless games which follow suit.

To be honest, prefer games with the lifespan of the fruit fly. Mind you that I have games like Dragon's Dogma, The Witcher 3, Pillars Of Eternity, Skyrim etc so I do have a few of those "filler" games. I get bored easily and quickly so I like games that are quick to finish to move on to the next. That's all preference though. I think alot of people assume that an 4-hour game could never hold the depth of a 200 hour game which isn't true, it all depends on how good the story-writing is, emotional atmospherics, ending, so on. I tend to find alot of quality indies out there that don't sell well but are quite the gems.. Steam has alot of these such games, people never give them a chance or are playing other games. But then again, quality is arguable on any grounds. I pre-purchased Hob and was lucky enough to play it for a few at a friend's house (he's a YouTuber). I noticed that Torchlight players are bashing it already without playing it simply because it's not Torchlight 3 lol Hob seems to be a more original game which I give it credit for, while Torchlight is the basic Diablo-clone. So it's getting hate. I have a lot of friends on Steam, every one of them who played The Witcher 3 for 200 hours, also put hundreds of hours into other games in the same year... so they have 3,000 hours at least per year. That's alot of gaming. To me legth doesn't equal quality... and I certainly am not the guy who says "I won't pay xx.xx for a game that's only xx amount of hours" if a game is 1 hour but has replay value and sells for $20.00 I don't mind as long as it has a damn good story or point to it and doesn't waste my time. The Stanley Parable was such a game, you can beat it in 15 minutes on average but there is so mich you can do when replaying it different ways.

No. The newest Duck Tales is by far the best version... The old ones are the terrible ones lol

Daily quote from Cleve: "Grimoire is unbalanced. It has suffered from piecemeal editing of monsters without the global overview being present for years. These issues will be ironed out in V2 where whole genera of monstrum will be gauged incrementally and adjustments made to them to reflect their level and context. At present you have some fights that are way too hard for too little XP. I just have not tightened this up yet with so much else to do. It will be straightened out shortly after it is ascertained there are no serious bugs left in the game. We are almost to that stage now. There are incredible items in the game - but you will almost never find anything spectacular in the regular supermixer chests. They are designed to be rather blah and generic. The incredible stuff you have to hunt for and often like Caliburnus they won't be found in a chest. The items in the supermixer chests are to give your party average equipment and supplies of average magic items."

With all respect, that's crazy man... almost 100 games per year? You can't remember anything from that big pile of stuff thrown at your brain fro more than few minutes... Quality over Quantity here all year long, Playing 1 game per month or two makes me remember everything that happened in my games for dozens of years... No offense taken, I get what you're saying. I'd like to call what I have quality though. Most of the games I have were gifts, and none of them are the cheap $0.99 RPG maker games that alotta Steam users buy just to get their library count up. They are often either gifts or I just usually wait to buy like 25 more expensive games on Steam's seasonal sale. I have pre-ordered some but usually don't go above the $20 mark when I do. That seems to be the sweetspot for the good indies out there.
-
Yeah, that's kinda how surveys work. Interesting... I've never seen isolated surveys before but then again, I don't consider these types as such I've seen.
-
In the past 3 years combined I only have 999 hours worth of playtime for 274 games and 30 hours logged into my PS4 lol I don't know if people really only stay on one game per year though, that's a bit hard to believe. Usually when a facebook friend tells me they do this, I see them on Steam playing games 24/7 lol My problem is short 4-10 hour games that I beat too quickly.

Lol I think he's talking about the good one (the remake)

Not sure if Larian will actually take the results too seriously. I was watching a news report by The Know which talked about the results and they said something like:"The results were interesting. Most people who filled out the survey prefer isometric over third person shoulder camera angles... but then again, look at the audience filling out the survey. That is something to consider." In other words, there's a certain niche audience flocking to the survey which isn't a very good thing. For example, I love playing rpg's but I prefer the over the shoulder camera angle but I don't care about filling out the survey. Should that be taken into consideration or should the opinion of my type of audience be shunned/discarded because we simply didn't fill out the service but continue to buy the games? Those are always important things lol Which is why internet surveys are hard to take seriously nowdays. If you care about your oppinion being heard, you should have filled the survey. Tens of thousands people filling out the survey is not niche audience by any means. It's same as voting. If you stayed at home and did not vote, your lost vote is completely irrelevant to the politicians, they care only to people who show them their support or voice their oppinions against them...Thanks but that's okay. I really don't like surveys for some reason and I agree, it's just that 10's of thousands is still nothing in the rpg community. I guess I'm kinda an anti-voter lol I am glad I did not vote for a president this term As far as productivity to follow Larian's survey, if they make an rpg that I don't like in the future I can just buy some other developer's product. I'm more for communication on forums with devs and usually if they are not there to respond directly to fans I skip their game. Unless the developer is to be trusted that is.

24% think the ideal length of an RPG is 100+ hours? Those people need to get a life. Yeah, my argument with that is that Supergiant's storywriting is better than Obsidian's and Larian's but their games are only around 8 hours. Yet Supergiant has this way of capturing just as much depth while killing filler and travel time. It's incredible... even Pyre which has traveling puts an actual story purpose to why traveling is there basically revolutionizing how developers should deal with traveling. I'm a huge fan of isometric but actually slightly prefer over-the-shoulder third person cam. The isometric angle seems to be overused or maybe I'm just gettin burnt out on it. I was also surprised at the single player thing. That makes me happy actually because I could never get into Multiplayer rpg's like WoW and even though Divinity Original Sin 2 is perhaps the best co-op rpg ever made, it probably offers too much freedom which I think may be the reasoning behinds voter's choice. Still interesting results... very interesting indeed.

Sonic Mania is amazing... definitely holds up to all the praise it's been getting! :D

For a multiplayer looter-shooter it's pretty average.Would recommend only if you played Borderlands to death and are willing to accept a drop in quality. Borderlands is underrated in this forum. Borderlands 2 is the best fps/rpg... wouldn't really call it a "grind" as some others here would but I know the game well and become powerful quickly.
