  1. I really enjoyed the rock-paper-scissors formula in the cut-to-choice dialogue system. I think that was a brilliant idea that makes it closer to a d&d tabletop experience than other rpgs.
  2. Divinity Original Sin 1&2 are well crafted games but they're targeting a different type of rpg audience. The games are built around comedy and sillyness so at times the dialouge and gameplay may seem like it was made for teenagers, at the same time there are deep mechanics in the game which are even more stragically in-depth than Pillars. What I like about Divinity Original Sin is that there is alot more freedom. It almst feels mmo-ish in that way.
  3. I've seen a "Diablo" mod for Torchlight but I've never tried it. It's supposed to make the world darker with that signature Diablo back/gray and reddish undertones.
  4. I have Grim Dawm and The Adventures Of Van Helsing but prefer Victor Vran for alot of reasons but again, that is geared towards youngsters it seems (by the theromatic themes).
  5. I would always recommend Command & Conquer and Diablo to old men but for the young peeps I would recommend Age Of Empire and Titan Quest/Torchlight in their stead. The biggest gripe I had upon completing Diablo 3 on its highest difficulty is that the hit impact ratio felt "off" whilist Tourchlight 2 (being made by the original Diablo developers) felt on point to tactile sufficiency... making every hit all the more satisfying and as a result - morr precise due to this system.
  6. NARF!! Got gravity boots and the grappler in... Sundered... now things are really getting interesting!
  7. My recent backings include Deadfire and Sunless Skies.... what does that tell you? Hopefully I regret neither.
  8. Making progress in Sundered, finding that it's the first Metroidvania that I've played which has a map as big as Holow Knight but the difficulty is insanely high - making Hollow Knight's most difficult bosses look easy. I think that's the only reason why Sundered is getting mixed reviews. People can't handle the difficulty and can't control the character well enough to use parkour in traversing the environments, the hordes, etc. I'm loving Sundered. The abilities are BA and it doesnt give a crap aboit explaining lore. It just is itself and gives the middle finger to the usual Dark Siuls 2D Metroidvania. And a huge step up from Jotun which wad beautiful but more of like a tech demo is some ways. Much like Hollow Knightx Sundered is listed at 15-20 hours of content but will give people 45 hours worth. It's a nice contrast to Hollow Knight. Soeakimg of, Hollow Knight was an awesome game but hoping the expansion releasing soon is 10x's more difficult than the base game.
  9. I have always wanted to try Bard's Tale lol I, too, found the character interaction to be charming. Like when you sit out a player and they have sonething to say about it. It just brings the world to life. Sundered feels super nice, better than expected. If anyone likes Risk Of Rain, they'll love Sundered as it's very similar in almost every way.
  10. Sundered is very cool so far and I'm fortunate to have written the second review for all to see
  11. The combat is okay. I agree it's unique but I made sure to make a point in my review that it isn't rewarding or satisfying like Bastion's combat. It's more on the lenient side of things, closer to Transistor in that regard. The thing that grabbed me was the character development and the choice and consequences. This ultimately should surprise all fans of Supergiant. As a long time fan of theirs who's been with them thrighout their journey since the beginning, I think Pyre is a worthy addition and their best work as far as story goes but as experimental as their games are, I don't believe they've found their sweetspot just yet. Things could be a bit better.
  12. Got free copy of Dead Cells, will be playing it soon but not too soon. I wonder how it will match up to Sundered and other games of my repertoire.
  13. Is this the mmo? I played a few hours of it, I just couldn't get into it. My brother in law plays it still though.
  14. Exit Hollow Knight and Pyre, Enter Sundered in 42 hours. With 55 hours of Hollow Knight and 15 hours of Pyre, I'm ready for something new. Thus, the magical countdown begins.
  15. You finished it within a day? Is the game that short? It's a bit longer than their other games.
  16. Finished my first run of Pyre I'm very satisfied with the ending and my result!
  17. I used to. I miss it as it was/still is one of the most strategic games ever produced.
  18. Few hours into Pyre! At first I wasn't sure if it would be up to par with Bastion and Transistor but I'd say it surpasses them both in nearly every way. Just an overall really cool, unique experience and great almost Jrpg characters but without the anime-ish quality. Idk, was just very refreshing. There's so many choices and consequences so there's a lot for me to play a second and even third time.
  19. Pre-purchased and ready to play. 12 more hours :D I'm just glad this one isn't turn -based. The audio is fine. The game is a huge improvement over Transistor. (Coming from someone who loves Transitor and turn-based combat).
  20. Pyre is getting phenomenonal reviews, can't say I expected any less. Supergiant does it again - creating an original world unlike anything done before. Nba Jam type gameplay with a neo-fantasy theme, sprinkles of rpg mechanics and cartoony visuals. I'll be playing it tomorrow
  21. Tooth and Tail hasn't been talked about here but it should be because it's a strategy rpg with realtime rts combat! Lead an army of flame-throwing boars, mustard gas-lobbing Skunks, and paratrooper-puking Owls. Tooth and Tail is a Real-Time-Strategy game featuring Single Player, Online Competitive Play, Split Screen, Replays, and more. Build a base, lead your army, eat your enemies! Yes, I know "Strategy Rpg's are boring", "Rts games are boring", "What makes this game any different original or unique?" Well... in short, EVERYTHING! Pre-order now for only $19.99 to secure your digital copy today! :D
  22. Outcast: Second Contact has been confimed and released a trailer Will be released on PC/XB1/PS4. Console versions will likely run at 30fps from the looks of it. Game will probably cost around $29.99-39.99 as it is a higher budget indie project. Will be released this year, don't think there is a month or exact day of ETA yet. Welcome back to Okansakaar!! Get ready for this year's most realistic and immersive sxi-fi rpg experience Reminds me of Obsidian's Kotor 2 tbh. Not a bad thing but we'll see hehe
  23. It's weird that they included pc here because the pc version they released last year was already marketed as a remaster with it's overhauled graphics and unlocked framerate + 4k support. But then again, it is Capcom who has remasters of remasters for remasters Still, glad that we're getting this though. I haven't bought the game on pc yet so this will be the version I buy. I had the ps3 version but the framerate and shallow resolution killed the awesome game for me. This will finally be my redemption!
  24. You managed to do something I haven't. No one has told me they have me on their ignore list Years and years of practicing trolling and arguing online, and then I come here and it's all for naught. But you are now in the illustrious company of such renames as Yesnek and Burglercat. Edit: I have not yet decided if katphood should become dogdrink or dogdiet or hungerdog. Thanks I think lol I'm not intentionally arguing or trolling though. I think the fact that I don't want to arugue with people is what made Fenix block me. As far as the trolling that people accuse me, I think it's more of people being unable to handle difference of opinion or getting offended for something that was never meant to offend in the first place. Maybe it's because text is so hard to read emotion off of though. As always alot of assumptions, misconceptions, etc. I do notice that the same 20-30 people comgregate to each section on the forums, mainly because there's alot of bigotry in each one so as the saying goes: "Birds of the same feather flock together" This doesn't help me as I am still considered the "New" guy and the fact that I don't agree with most people here so then comes the "Let's gang up on this loser, he's different than us so let us crucify him!!" mentality but as I said before, the more people that hate me the more reason to stay. The more people that complain, the more active I shall remain. I'm just thankfuk that none of those people are moderators or administrators But above all, happy to be here to just talk about the games I love to play which is more important than anything - always found it creepy to make judgements about people on forums anyways lol Its not my style.
  25. If you collect a set of trading cards you get an emoticon, wallpaper/background and level up. Or you can just buy the wallpaper from the market. There are thousands of awesome wallpapers. Each time you level up 10 levels, you get a showcase. Showcases can be used for different things such as showing off your favorite game, featuring your top 4 games, screenshots, artwork etc. So if you're at level 20 you have 2 showcase boxes and so on.
