  1. I ran across this guide today. I really thought you guys would enjoy pondering upon it or at least talking about: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=921441710 If you could, take a glimpse and tell me your thoughts
  2. Edit: Wrong discussion. That's what I got for having multiple wimdows open on my phone internet browser.
  3. Whoah! That is a lot! But more DRM means it's a better game, right? I can't take people seriously who base a game's quality off of the drm that is or isn't behind the game or the method of which the dev/pub choose to apply it I will always be the person who plays the game for the content and the game itself and base the quality on that aa any gamer should. By the way... it only has 2 drm's now. One already got removed (Goose) Only Steam and Denuvo remain although you can bet that Denuvo will be removed shortly. As for a GoG release, it probably won't happen.
  4. Bethesda needs to stop making rpg crap and focus on the only games they're actually good at making... fps and horror.
  5. If you haven't played it yet, or haven't played the original Sonic games then you won't understand. There's alot of stages and secrets/sirprises which aren't shown in that 2 minute clip. It's basically 6 hours of quality 2D Sonic.
  6. Like I said, the vast majority of people who refund it for the DRM are just buying on console. The DRM isn't enough to stop the sales.
  7. It was sarcasm, I really don't want to be on the same level lol
  8. I wanna be part of the cool kids too... Yay... caps are back... yay..... I'm so cool now. Yay.
  9. What a masterpiece Sonic Mania is... even with the 3 drm's... Who cares when the game is this good? Lol Its like they read the minds of what fans wanted and gave us every single forgotten character while making sure everything was quality.
  10. Sonic Mania cannot be played offline, Sonic Mania was made by fans, for fans. It was made by modders, against modders... so the Denuvo and Goose Drm's were placed specifically to prevent modders from tampering with the game. That being said, don't think this will affect sales though, alot of people are angry and refunding it but make no mistake, these same people are buying the console version right after so looks like Sega didn't do too bad here. In fact they lose no money as the Sonic fanbase is just too commited to care about modding prevention. It really comes to quality of the game. Sonic Mania is the best Sega game in years. Congrats to them, without being too much of a fanboy here, I'll just say that if it was any other game it would be getting a rating so bad that it would be around 42%? That sounds about right. The game is gold though.
  11. DA REAL DEAL = DRAGON AGE REAL DEAL!!! :D
  12. Sonic Mania has 2 DRM's... still highly rated game. So far it's the most beautiful sprite work I've seen since KoFVII but without bias, I recommend everyone to check out the sprite work for themselves. At first glance you may think it looks similar to the old Sonic games (which were the most impressive sprites and animations of the 90's) but really Sonic Mania is at a whole new level. Just awesome!
  13. Sonic Mania!!!!!!
  14. I don't want to join the "it's not the original so it's not the one you should be playing" mindset like in so many forums I've seen so I'm going to give it a chance and let it be the first one I play. In my old age, with these old eyes, I would be a fool to choose reading over hearing... even if it's bad voice acting I'll be grateful but hey, I'm in the wrong forum to say such things... ;-)
  15. Lol I seen that!
  16. Yay! Another HLD fan :D This pleases SonicMage greatly!
  17. I think it depends alot on what game or cartoon/anime too. Nobody really likes anime screams lol But at the same time if we're talking something weird like a loli or chibi type character, I couldn't see an English va ever fitting that kind of character. It's just for the art style that this game has, it's almost like it was developed for English va rather than Japanese va. Same with Kingdom Hearts 3 which looks/sounds super silly with Japanese va for Disney characters and even Sora but sits well even with horrble English va. Meh. It's a strange thing to complain about I guess. I'm looking forward to what SoM will offer though and will be getting it somehow on launch. I didn't play the old one and would much rather play the remake personally anyway.
  18. I havent heard "Firefox" in forever. Good nostalgia! That's like using foxberry email lol The days of young I reckon.
  19. It is. And I'd honestly rather have bad english voice acting like in Sonic Adventure than good Japanese voice acting. When ever I hear the usual Japanese voice overs I think of Godzilla. For some reason it always just sounds obsolete but tbh, American voice actors are exceptional these days anyway... so I'm not all that worried. The English voice overs in the trailer definitely don't sound bad, not sure about the Japanese voices for the game. Like I said, my only critique is with the art style of the graphics. So far everything else looks or appears to be better than the original.
  20. Trust me when I say that SoM remake will be played. I don't think people really care for poor voice overs... although, there's no excuse to have poor voice acting today (even great voice actors are affordable and that's why they went on strike). The Steam trailer showed a bit of the voice acting, I didn't rhink it was too bad. I think the art-style could have been better as far as in game graphics go but the colorful 2D cover art is exceptional on any level. Localization seems to be less of a problem, there's no longer any such thing as "Oh that game? It's 30 years old, ot will never get localized." Because Steam has proven different. Very rarely does Steam get poor localization but even if they do, the pubs are usually willing to work with the community to help with official localization post-launch. There's nothing bad about that either
  21. Doesn't matter to me if it's pre-wtitten but if its something like Skyrim or Saints Row I like to play as a girl. Probably because I'm labeled as the Alpha Male Manly Dude in real life.
  22. Yep. It's almost like a Resident Evil game with Doom's creatures and settings Just very different.
  23. Rather the atnosphere, introduction of enemies and how they animate. If we're talking clearing enemies from room to room, hall, then yes, every Doom has that same thing going on. The newer Doom is just much more fluid and faster than Doom 3, while Doom 3 is much more slow paced. I like the slow paceyness. Edit: I should add that Doom 3's biggest emphasis is on lighting and how it deflects off of dark areas, which is why I think they made that one slower. I think the new Doom is focused purely on gameplay, which is why I think it's faster and has those finishing moves.
  24. I really enjoy the clay-like graphics of Doom 3. I get memories of when John Carmack announced that it would be the first game ever to have self shadowing subjects. It's stil impressive to look at.https://youtu.be/80guchXqz14 But I prefer Doom 3 over the new one because it feels haunted house-ish whilist the new Doom is like a glorified Serious Sam. I just prefer the Haunted House type atmosphere more which is probably why I enjoy The Evil Within still. About the whole Rage vs Fallout debacle, I think that's where people go wrong. They tend to compare every post-apocalyptic game to Fallout when that's a very poor stamdard to have for an apocalyptic game. My favorite would have to be the Mad Max game because everything is so sparse, whether ammo, people or structures. It's not trying to wow people with towns full of habitants, dialogue or items that ruin the end of days experience. Fallout 4, for instance, is a perfect example of turning that type of setting into a joke. Nothing is sparse, people and mutants are everywhere, etc. I likethe control of Mad Max in that area, it's important for devs to be creativeas well as to know when too creative kills the game. Balance is everything.
