Owlcat doing 40k RPG.... is potentially compelling. I am not a 40k fan, but I enjoyed some of the games. I do wonder how it will holdup without spectacle - when I think of 40k this is mostly what I think of, chainsawing orcs in Space Marine, bloody clash of armies in Total Warhammer or Dawn of War. Not sure how much there is to the setting outside of that.

A third of PS first-party releases are to make their way to PC by 2025 and Returnal might be coming to Steam, if SteamDB listings are to be trusted. Shipbreaker came out of Early Access and is as entertaining as it was when I first played it. Still some wonky physics. Hitman3 got Ray-tracing mode if one fancies cutting half to two thirds of their frames. I will take 144 FPS over 40-50 FPS, thank you.

What are you Playing Now? Who needs a life anyway?...

My Stellaris experience usually goes like that - I install it, buy bunch of extra content that was release since I last played it, then I play it for couple evenings, get distracted, try to return to it, but can't remember what is what and where, and why. I spend one session just trying to recall what I was doing, get frustrated, uninstal the game and wait for the next cicle like that. -
You kiddin me? Mooncrash was brilliant. I wish Deathloop was half as good. Apparently Deathloop wasn't based on Mooncrash but yeah, it's difficult not to compare the two. Prey was easily my fav in recent Arcane catalogue, though I am generally interested in any singleplayer immersive sim... Multiplayer system driven game has potential - I found multiplayer to be the only remotely interesting thing about Deathloop - though good luck creating game that can handle it. Arcane titles always feel like they are barely holding together as it is.

I wrapped up RDR2, and started Death Stranding. It’s…. interesting. My 2nd Kohima game after MGSV. Cutscenes are captivating in spite of being way too long and full of nonsense. Hiking I like. i want more hiking games. Losing balance and tumbling down a cliff is hilarious and fun… at least for now. I find use of recognisable actors to be distracting. -

Hmmm… might give it a go sometime in the future. In spite of my previous criticism of RDR2 it is a game I imagine myself returning to. I started epilogue. It was harder then I thought -
Not yet, outside in-engine trailers. It had a release date though. From what I understand it is not unusual for Bethesda to keep things underwaps and then shows lengthy game presentations closer to the release - so many expected details in upcoming Microsoft showcase. We will probably still see it there.

That's the thing - I found Witcher to be more on a Terry Pratchet side, then grim and dark. It's like a parody of a parody of a parody. Fantasy spaghetti western with dark twists on popular fairy tales. -
I mean its Arcane. Nothing they pitched so far appeals to me, though. After Deathloop I am a bit more sceptical.

Starfield and Redfall has been delayed to 2023. Ups

Starfield still isn’t out yet. More like 3-5 years till Elder Scrolls6 and then Fallout5. It also might be wise for 76 to not be the last Fallout thing released. With Fallout being one of the valuable IP that Microsoft has acquired it wouldn’t be shocking for them to want to do something with it in near future. I wouldn’t get too excited with a prospect of major Obsidian lead Fallout game but something might happen. The question I keep asking myself is: what engine would such theoretical fallout game use - Starfields? Elder Scroll6? Avowed/OuterWorld2? Have no modding and it is less of a modern fallout game. Building full Fallout game would be a far bigger undertaking then following F3 release with NV. I mean, I wouldn’t say no to top-down fallout .

No one called anything just yet. Those are leaks of internal talks. How about Fallout-New-Vegas2-like?

So only the deserving ones can appreciate his genius. You can't have a good thing, and appeal to riffraff at the same time. I really liked first two books (short story collection), and even in my high school years I was more critical of the "saga". I won't try to defend the material though, as I haven't re-read the books in years, and I don't know if 32 years old me, would like the same thing as 17 years old me. As far as translation goes, my biggest concern would be the humor, and if it would translate well into english. -

Matty discussed the leak with JG himself. From what I remember: No, F:NV2 isn't happening yet, but it's being discussed, so even if it happens it's a long time before it is made. Also F:NV2 means another game like NV, not necessarily a direct sequel to NV.

Many people hate the swamp, but I never understood why. It doesn't play any differently to the rest of the game. I didn't mind combat - I defenitely liked it more then W2. I thought of W1 combat more in terms of NWN1/KOTOR, but at least with some kind of reactivity, rather then action combat that later installements attempted. It's not that bad, but as far as RPGs go, or at least there are games with worse combat. I should also stress that I played the game more then a year after it was released so with all the enhancements, and in polish so I didn't suffer from what I understand was a rather dodgy translation effort. Couple months. I remember being very relieved when it was over. I was a big Sapkowski fan at that time (wrong my final high school essay on it) so I was eager to see how it was adapted. It was also first year of university and freedom from parental oversight. Some people do drugs and sex, while I did way too much gaming and did stupid stuff like watching extanded LotR trilogy back to back. -

Ah, Witcher1! My poor laptop wasn't able to run it, but it was my freshman year at Uni and a good colleague of mine and a fellow gamer was kind enough to lend me his machine. I would borrow it once per week around 10 PM, when he was done with his homework and I would meet him during breakfast in the morning and hand the laptop back after entire night of gaming. That's how I finished my first run of it. Good times.
