  1. Does EK work with 3.03? Because it seems the console reverts any attribute chances I make when I reload. If EK works without a hitch, I'll just use that, thanks. EDIT: Evidently, you cannot change companion attributes in EK either? The mouse pointer changes to a road block sign when hovering over companion attributes. Ah! Yea there's a bug in Keeper that saves nothing if a specific thing isn't changed. There's a workaround for that. Just put a space after a characters name and remove that space. The Save game option should be highlighted then. It probably wasn't before. I've had this happen before and now every time I want to change something I just change and undo a characters name to ensure that the saves are made. Also you need to completely quit the game in order to see the edited game. Humm, I just edited the stats of one of the companions. Can't change them through the keepers main screen (blocked), but can edit the raw value. After editing the raw value the main screen is updated with the new value. Saved the game. Loaded the edited game and nothing has changed. That sucks. Same problem here. I am trying to edit Hiravias' attributes so I can get that idiotic ring from the burning hut, I tried everything else but Eternity Keeper doesn't seem to work either, it says it saves the new attributes to a new savegame but... In game they remain the same. Is there any other editor I can use? IE mod is for different stuff, so it could not help, from what I saw.
  2. Iirc you only need 14 Per to spot the ring. 10 Dex to take it and 10 Mig to drag her out. Edit: check this post. I replied to that post last night also, in hopes somebody would help. No, I am afraid 14 Perception is not the answer... I go way past this but no ring, is there something else I am doing wrong or is it a bug I wonder?
  3. Ok, I tried it again to show you I can't see the ring. Only 17 Perception but still, I did the exact same things with 22 and nothing. Afterwards I tried saving the woman first, I managed to save the man also, but still no ring. Anyway, please look at my choices and tell me what I should do differently to find that cursed ring... http://imgur.com/a/26gKl I also tried rushing past the falling beam and using the tools to save the woman from under that beam, in case it's "faster". Still no ring on sight...
  4. I know its stats already and I don't plan to use it, but yes I am one of those loot hoarders, if I let it escape it will nag at me endlessly. And if it really needs just 14 Perception, then how come I don't see it, with 22 Perception? What am I doing wrong?
  5. I can't get the ring from the woman in the burning hut, for the life of me. I tried with 22 Perception. How much more is needed? I can go to 24, with Kana and that bow... Then I'll have to use the console to import that shield with a cold spell because Azzuro NEVER shows up... (Yes I am grumpy for multiple reasons) And use Sagani. Or I could roll a character and use that? Or use the savegame editor and boost Hiravias' Pereception to 40 or something??? Please help, step by step, how to get the frigid claim ring. I can beat all the skill and attribute checks except of the Perception check to steal the ring, apparently.
  6. I have completed all quests in Dyrwood sort of jumping into the pit, including the Endless Paths. I just moved to the White March, and still, Azzuro has not visited me ONCE. Yes I rest a lot, before you get smart. This must be a bug that makes him impossible to come or really, really rare. Both sound like a bug to me.
  7. Ok this is ridiculous, I can't spot the damn ring. I am using Hiravias, I boosted his Perception to 22!!! And still he can't see it. How much is needed? I want the ring called Frigid Claim just because, I won't even use it, but come on, I pass every check, I go for the man first, what is going on? Am I doing something wrong? I am seriously thinking to change his Perception with the savegame editor just to see how high it must be to pass the check...
  8. 21 pages because some religious zealots feel grumpy that a game didn't cater to their crusader fantasies... Right...
  9. I am only using Pallegina as an example, imagine any other barren avian godlike. And what you say is wrong, you can't be sure how her life would have been, hers and other godlikes', if they could procreate. As it is now, she saw the soldiering life as her only option. But, regarding the poor implementation of the godlike, I feel it would be best if they had not bothered with them at all instead. But let's try to think positively, perhaps this section of the world will be better fleshed out in the sequel.
  10. Well, yeah, isn't it that odd? A person "touched" by Hylea, the goddess of fertility, motherhood, growth, birth, blah blah... And yet... Pallegina is not even considered a woman in her society. She can never get pregnant. It does strike me as very odd... I just think the whole "Godlike" concept was not so well-thought and was forced into the game just for the sake of variety, for gameplay reasons and because it's a trend in DnD and other games... I mean, the gods in PoE universe are quite different in some ways. And what is even more strange, Pallegina doesn't bring this issues up with Hylea, when she confronts her in the temple. I mean, her life is a constant irony, an existence "blessed" with infertility by the goddess of fertility... Yeah. I don't know how we can make it make sense and it should be the game's responsibility anyway, not ours.
  11. I wish we could kill more gods in this game. Oh well, perhaps in the sequel. But not Eothas again, that would get repetitive.
  12. Oh I killed it before level 13. To be honest I blame the game, they really messed up the difficulty curve. I am not asking for a fully linear storyline where the game takes you by the hand through gradually tougher battles and enemies, but come on, all this back and forth, even between expansion and main map... It's really not practical. Add the Endless Paths, the new quests in the main map, like Cragholdt... And let's not begin about the immersion and plausibility, you simply walk away from "saving the world" to go do a bunch of stuff in the mountains. Oh well. I'll do as you say Boeroer, I'll trust your experience. I'll leave Cragholdt for last, I am already level 14 and I just have Hiravias', Durance's and whatever business I have in Burial Isle to finish, apart from the bunjie jump. Then I'll go get me some new companions. I've already planned my party, I know I get the rogue later also, but oh well. We'll see what we shall see.
  13. Well, I know this is quite trivial and that I can easily test it, but perhaps I can get a quick answer here. So, during the Council of Stars quest you pray to the gods and you have to tell them the right words, or else they summon monsters to attack you. Either way your praying conversation continues and the quest progresses. My question is, does it benefit me to answer correctly or not? Do I get more xp perhaps? I'd like to kill more monsters instead, for xp, for loot, for fun... But I am not sure about the potential rewards xp-wise. What's the difference in those two approaches then, anyone knows?
  14. Yeah, I know it's for higher levels. But I've already killed the Adra dragon, right after Act 3 started. Actually, I left it at that because I thought the dragonslayer that gives you that talent was somewhere in Twin Elms, stupid me. Long story short, I'm already level 13 and going, so I believe whatever the expansion can throw at me I will more or less be ready.
  15. I started the game again, and I thought I was supposed to play the White March after I finishe the main storyline... Now I see it's not so. Well, I am in Act 3 now so I plan to stay there and wrap it up and then go to the White March stuff. Also, what about that Battle of Yenwood? I read you can get allies from White March cities etc. so it makes sense to leave it for later, yes? And Cragholdt Bluffs? I gues I'll do this one before White March. But, my real question is this. If I jump to the pit and do stuff, will the game end, without me being able to play the expanison parts? I believe there is a point of no turning back towards the original storyline. I'd like to know when I should stop to avoid rolling the credits while I've never set foot on the White March, but at the same time I want to do all the quests in the Glanfathan lands. If I simply have to leave the main quest unfinished and go play the expansion, it's fine with me. Is that what I should do?
  16. Thats kind of stupid though that ranger pet kills do not count as ranger's kills on the records page...... I totally agree. Itumaak just killed the Adra dragon for me. It's all nice and well for the fox, but it's a shame his stats/kills are not recognized/recorded by the game... Also, it makes it harder to actually measure how well my Sagani build works.
  17. Well in my current run, I got Edge of Reason first. I might dive into the expansion areas before continuing to Act 3, we'll see. I haven't done Dyrford yet and I haven't chosen one of the 3 factions' 2nd quests, but yeah, I know there are no axes there either, haha. But before all that, I have to test my new axe on a certain dragon... Oh and... WHERE THE HELL IS AZZURO ALREADY!?!?!?
  18. Well I feel axes really don't get the love they deserve in this game, and yes I am biased. It's all about sabres and warhammers and stats and stuff... I play as a barbarian dual-wielding dwarf, I'd love to use two axes, also, they should have slashing and crushing damage in my opinion. But even one unique axe somewhere early in the game would be fine. Well, I get some axes worth my time eventually, but during more than the first half of the game, the only battle-axes available are the generic ones and also one from the CRPG club. Until you reach the Act 3 areas and really really far down the Endless Paths, you can't enjoy the glory of chopping enemies to pieces with your axe(s). I feel castrated. :/
  19. I agree, the fact that you can't tell him straight away about the Leaden Key soul jumper is really not cool, it ruins this quest in a way. Anyway, my excuse for killing him is, he is guilty of not noticing being misled for so long, in his research, by the soul jumper. That and all the rest of his crimes against humanity, so, more loot for me,I mean... justice was served. :D
  20. Meh, damage over time, good but not for quick kills, to slay casters for example. I prefer targeted attacks to eliminate threats and then clear the rubble. And also, I avoid stuff that need frequent resting, like Durance, Aloth... Anyway I rely on teamwork, doing heavy and quick damage. Barbarian, Eder, Pallegina, Hiravias, Grieving Mother, Sagani. To be honest there are few challenging fights in town now, even on Hard mode. I reached that fampyr lord in Caed Nua and stopped because I want to be able to talk to him. We reached level 9 recently.
  21. What powerhouse, he was doing the least damage in the party. Sure, the build was a bit tanky, but to be honest I am not impressed with his early skills. Later I got paralyze but, by the time it is available, I've killed almost everyone. And AoE skills are very tricky to use effectively, for example the exploding corpses. Anyway, Kana is not a powerhouse by far. Perhaps after you have spent hours minmaxing him and trying various builds... But yeah, I did his quest, I heard his comments, time for one more lady in the party. Sure, he has some AoE buffs, auras let's say. But Pallegina has also. But she also has some very powerful hits, and even good heals, if you focus on those.
  22. http://www.gamebanshee.com/cgi-bin/search/banshee_search.pl?_layout=Pillars_Items_Page&_cgifunction=search&Pillars_Items.name=Aila%20Braccia Seems cool, I guess. I am using that green shield for paladins for now.
