  1. This is the first time that I see someone complaining about too much loot on a CRPG. I'm sorry but I think you are alone in this way of thinking.
  2. When I first met her agent I thought I would do some secret missions for her and then, amidst a random mission, I would discover some leads to the misterious figure that is destroying the animancy populatiry, but, for my dissatisfaction, she was just a deus ex machina. Disappointed!
  3. Whereas strength isn't important for melee combat when you're wielding a weapon like a sword. It's not unimportant, but there's basically a threshold above which extra strength gives rapidly diminishing returns. The same thing can be said about dexterity and swords, it requires a certain dexterity to weild a sword properly, more than axes or maces.
  4. Why not healing done to resolve and spell damage to intellect? Oh... and strength is a must for any archer in real life, have you tried to shoot with a long bow? It requires a lot strength.
  5. Precisely my dear Gromnir, penetration is the main issue in here. It's complicated, with the new system, armour is actually important and I really like this aspect, but it's killing one of my favourite characters, maybe putting some more penetration in the spells?
  6. Now you can have a caster that can do damage and heal, where is the BALANCE? Why not put the damage dealing into intellect and healling done into resolve? It would work much better and would also work with the lore, the heal spells of priests, paladins and druids are from their faith not from their intellect, and a priest tank build would be viable in this case. I think they are trying to adress the issue of lack of spells variations with this...
  7. In PoE 1 rogues, at least for me, worked really well as a secondary tank, their criticals and raw damage over time were big enough that I could invest little on the Might attribute and still do excellent damage, I can still remember Devil of Caroc destroying 5 enemies on that elevator ambush on White March part 2 and receiving little damage. Just try out a build with Riposte and you will see their true capabilities. But hey I agree, the damage dealer rogue is horrendous, it seems like Obisidian can't find a place for rogues in this game.
  8. I watched the whole nerdcommando video - almost 4 hours - and the state of the casters - wizards, priests, ciphers and druids - are sad to see. Wizards: they lack power, for example, the fireball spell, a classic, only does 30 AOE damage and has a penetration of 7 with a caste time of 9 seconds, yes 9 seconds. The solution is simple, more power, 9 seconds for 30 AOE damage? No. How about 50 AOE damage? Well... or they can have a fast cast time, but that would affect the entire balance of the game. Priests: surprisingly they lack spell options, this wasn't a problem in PoE 1, I really don't know what happened. Ciphers: they need to do damage to gain focus and then wait 9 seconds to cast something that will last 15 seconds... it's just better to make a dual class and use that amazing passive of 40% damage bonus. Druids: they are the best casters in the moment, well... that is not saying much, they are only good because their heals and buffs are fast enough, in this way they can actually do more stuff in the middle of combat, but their caster damage dealer is horrendous, the game don't even have a subclass for that. I didn't mention the Chanters because they are, imo, one of the best classes right now, their subclasses, beckoner - 4 ogres - and the Skald are amazing. I'm not a big fan of casters - I even have a topic defending the fighters -, but hey... It will be impossible to use Aloth if the wizard class is that bad. Any ideas on how to remedy the situation?
  9. Hey, look! We can walk now, the RP of the CRPG has increased. I still want to see my fighter receive some love, how about some decent animations?
  10. If you have a problem with the style of fighting, that's fine. I don't agree personally, but I won't try to change your mind. People often phrase these things as if a difference between taste in these things is a product of the devs being "lazy", or a lack of "effort" or "attention", as if the industry standard for video game devs wasn't non-stop 7 day-a-week crunch. But they obviously shared that pommel strike in the video because they thought it was good. Style of fighting? Using a shield and putting it aside when attacking is a style now? So why would you even use a shield? It's clear to me that you don't give a **** to fighters, barbarians and rogues, so why you are in this thread? Are you trying to change my mind? Are you defending the devs even thought they are not even paying attention to this thread? But hey, if you are that kind of person that leaves the tank unattended for the entirety of the fight that is your problem, there are a lot of people that actually likes to play with the tank and the gameplay is boring as ****, with cyphers you have a laser beam that can melt enemies in the meantime for the fighter you have a kick that don't even have an animation...So... if I follow your logic I can't ask for something cheap because they already work so much? Uh... I'll say that to my next client at the airport, he will be really pleased. But let me ask you, you think it's cheaper to make a wall of fire than to move a character arm to the right location when attacking? Well, that escalated quickly. That wasn't quickly at all, all your responses can resume to this sentence: I don't care. It's all the same, every single time... I ask 4 question and someone answer just one of them in a smart ass way and then goes away like they won some competition - you did that in your last response -, I asked 6 question... and to how many did you respond? If you are not here to help or to make a good argument I can't think of a reason to why you are still in this topic.

  12. I don't get it, please explain the reason to why they can make a big swing from left to right but they can't make that swing more pratical like in the video. Again, I'm not asking for anything fancy just a proper swing. The arbalest and crossbow animations are perfect, why the greatsword or the sword and shield can't have a basic but solid animation? Why they have to put the shield aside when doing a strike, why the strike has to be a big swing?! WHY?! Why they can't make some melee skills for the fighter? Like a front kick or punch?! Why we have to be so damn boring to look at?
  13. Maia: perfect portrait, her serious looks illustrates her country culture perfectly, and note how she is looking down on us, like she is superior, ha! She will be quite a character. Pallegina: nope, just ugly, it has nothing to do with her personality like the old one - where she was serious and the player would be looking from a lower angle -, but it's not a big concern, we can just replace it with the old one. Xoti: perfect portrait, her smile and eyes can tell you her whole personality. I bet she will be a funny and calm lass who likes to drink. Éder: it's a good portrait, what people don't realise is that Éder is much older now, it has been 5 years since PoE 1. Serafen: perfect portrait, wild eyes, the front angle works perfectly with his personality it's like he is contronting the player, and that smirk... he is definetely more of a true neutral character. Aloth: I think it's better than the old one, the old one had an image of him with an energy ball, the first time I looked to it I tought "oh... he must be a young wizard looking for power", but he wasn't... the new one has him looking behind him, showing us his true nature, a careful lad. Takehu: Hahaha, this giant will be a big joker, just look at him, perfect portrait.
  14. No, no, no, I'm not asking for motion capture or any of that expensive stuff, I'm asking one simple thing, attention. When Eder attacks with a shield and weapon he puts the shield UP, not aside -like he does now-, and when he attacks with the blade he uses a practical and short swing not a big ****in' swing that any enemy could dodge, same thing with the greatsword, why making an animation of a big swing from left to right if you could animate a practical and realistic swing? 4:01 to 4:09 AGAIN I'm not asking for a motion capture or anything like that, but if they can do animations of big and ugly swings they can do something like the video. ps: The estoc animations are ratter good, they actually resemble how that weapon should be used, so that makes me believe that they can do that to a weapon and shield.
  15. Why wizards, druids, ciphers and priests can receive so much effort, resources and animations to ONE spell and fighters, rogues, barbarians and monks can't even get some decent melee animations? Look at the firebender stuff that Tyranny had, why monks in PoE can't have animations like that? Because its different world and different style. Tyranny was fanstastical, over the top with people flying in the air (literally!). Not that I didn't like it, but it wouldn't fit pillars. If they have time I would welcome a nice animation as long as its grounded and clear. Communicating stance via animation would be welcome but with such small characters it might be difficult to communicate without going over the top. Still, fix UI first than worry about style. Note that I specific said monks, a character that can make a clone and punch a dragon to death, the over the top part is already there, still I'm not saying that they need to fly, but a cool kick and a decent punch is welcome. Well... I think that fighters will be boring to watch... again.
  16. Why wizards, druids, ciphers and priests can receive so much effort, resources and animations to ONE spell and fighters, rogues, barbarians and monks can't even get some decent melee animations? Look at the firebender stuff that Tyranny had, why monks in PoE can't have animations like that?
  17. I watched several videos of the backer beta tests and I have to say that the fighter class look ridiculously boring, well... all of the melee attacks look boring as hell, specially the sword and shield, oh boy... that one... before making an attack the character puts his shield away and procceds to telegraph his move, that just looks too silly, wasn't my fighter supposed to be a decent martial artist? How about some HEMA animations? It's a sincere question, I don't know much about animation, stances and melee attacks are more expensive to animate than spells? Oh... before anyone comments, of course I'm not expecting that they implement 14 stances, but how about 3? Or even 1 per weapon? That would be better than most games.
  18. What? There are no more talents? What were they thinking? The devs had the time - and still have - to make multiclassing, subclasses and a general talent pool, because they don't have to work on a new endless path of caed nua - that thing was so big that they could have made a game with that - and they already have their engine ready. The team had some suspicious and bizarre ideas, like the removal of the health/endurance system - I still don't get it -, the 5 member party, the removal of some racial abilities, but now they removed the talent pool? The talent pool was fantastic, 50% of the fun of that game was with that pool, I discovered my new favourite build because of that - the semi tank rogue with 100% crits oh! -, they are taking away an amazing part of the game, and they are doing this to not scare the new public imo, I watched several videos of beta testers and they are not messing with the multiclass system - well.. they are not even reading the spells - so... just think about having multiclass, subclasses and a talent pool? New players would run away from the game... and we suffer because of that, again, like Gromnir stated, the game is a product after all. At least they are separeting the social skills of the stats, that was so terrible on the first game, I could not play with a dps fighter as the leader because I had no intelligence to make any discussion interesting.
  19. Thank you very much animator that created the pommel strike animation, playing as a fighter - my favourite class in any rpg game - is quite frustrating, no one gives a **** about us, all of the resourses and attention goes directly to the wizards, priests and druids. Every game is the same thing, fireballs to the mages, priests get amazing light effects, hunters get some crazy backflips, rogues get those cool shadow effects, and warriors get... some red lights on their swords and axes...
  20. It's an interpersonal relationship system, of which some relationships can involve an romantic bend to it. But romances wholesale as a mechanic are not and have never been confirmed. It has been confirmed. Josh clearly said that the companions can develop love through the relationship system.
  21. "not only for all the above-mentioned traits"what traits? That she is a "down to earth"person and noble? Sorry, but that don't make any sense, those are not the qualities of a charismatic person. "but because she too is the designated huntress to carry out one of her people's most important traditions, and, depending on the ending you reach, may or may not become the village elder herself. That implies she has authority, and it also implies she is, despite following your lead in the game, a figure with presence and capacity of leadership herself."No... that implies she is wise, capable, with an incredibly knowlodge of the culture of her village and also how her village works - she explains to you everything about her village in the dialogues... well if you don't sleep whilst reading them-, but that don't implie that she is a charismatic person, there are leaders that don't have any charisma - Rick and Jon Snow from TWD are som good examples, some leaders are leaders because of their knowlodge, because they are wise and capable of doing their job, just like the traits that Sagani has, it seems that I know more about her character than you... odd. Like the DICTIONARY SAYS: charisma also means charm, magnetism, presence, she don't have any of those... For you. Personally I see all those qualities in her, and as I said before, this is a personal reaction one gets from a person or character. My points about her being down to Earth is a description of her kind of appeal, and these are elements that contribute to her likability and attitude as a character, thus also making her charismatic. Either way, you may not be done here, but I am: as your overreliance on the "dictionary definition" (which, if needed to explain, fails to consider the context in which a term is used) shows, your reading comprehension is frankly quite poor, and I would just as well be talking to a Turing chatbot. Cheers. "Either way, you may not be done here, but I am" So? Why are you giving me this information? Are you feeling alone? You feel like a special person? You think that I care about you or what you do? This don't pevents me to responding to your... "argument", if you are not going to read my response that is up to you- and it seems quite a regularly thing to do in this forum, you just post something insulting someone else and then run. But the context in this situation was: Why you consider Sagani charismatic if she don't show any of the qualities of a charismatic person? Everything you said so far depict her as a leader and, like I already said and you surely failed to comprehend that, a leader is not, necessarily , charismatic. "My points about her being down to Earth is a description of her kind of appeal, and these are elements that contribute to her likability and attitude as a character, thus also making her charismatic."If we follow your stupid logic Durance is a charismatic character because his rude attitude towards everyone "is a description of her kind of appeal, and these are elements that contribute to her likability and attitude as a character, thus also making her charismatic."same thing with GV, she is a chracter that don't have ANY personality, if we follow your mediocre logic even she is charismatic, ****... if we follow your dumb logic everyone on the planet is charismatic. Such a bad argument... you are clearly desperate to prove your point... "Sagani: Son of a moose****er! Aloth: I beg your pardon? Sagani: Sorry. Kallu's always telling me to watch my language, 'specially around the kids. Guess I haven't had a reminder in a while. Aloth: What happened? Sagani: One of them heard me tell a joke about a Glamfellen youth with frostbite somewhere...sensitive. Kids repeat everything. Aloth: I meant just now. Sagani: Jammed my thumb. Nothing big." Wow! Very funny! Such charisma!
