  1. Oh, I get it, english is not my mother language some things can get past me. Yes I agree with you, I have no complaint about the visuals, not a single one.
  2. No, not on the eyes, I played PoE 1 on PotD and I constantly had to watch out for enemies buffs and debuffs and use spells accordingly, example: the first hard encounter on the PotD difficult, in my opninon, is that final encounter at the Eothas temple, you have a bunch of Skuldrs, at least two of them are Skuldr Kings, in the PotD difficult they receave increased acc and deflection bonuses, my party had an easy time killing the rest of the skuldrs but those two were not dying, because of their deflection my party was not able to hit them, so I decided to use some spells, Armour of Faith + 4 dr- because they were hitting Edér like a truck -, Blessing for more acc for my entire party, Divine terror to get some of their deflection down and lastly I used Edér's disciplined barrage, Edér managed to kill one almost alone and Aloth+Kana killed the other one. Now what CohhCarnage is doing. Hey, there is a bunch of enemies, use that thunder thing from the druid, why they are not being stunned? I better use the same spell again! - to be fair this part is mainly because he is not very good but he is not bad at the game either - It worked this time! Oh hey... I'm being melted... heal, heal again, heal one more time, boom done! - this part is where the health system fails - Can you spot the difference?
  3. I'm not talking about balance tweks like Josh stated. "The change of the health system make healing spells way powerfull, I can't comprehend the reason to why they changed the decent health system of the first game." You should at least read the entirety of the FIRST comment on the thread before commenting anything. I'm saying that the main reason for this easy PotD is because of the new health system. It seems that the lazy here is you.
  4. CohhCarnage is just spamming some druids spells with no kind of strategy whatsoever, when the situation gets dire he just spam some healing spells and everything gets back to normal. The change of the health system make healing spells way powerfull, I can't comprehend the reason to why they changed the decent health system of the first game. By the way, he is not even using Edér - which can bring a lot of damage if build correctly - he just sits in the frontline doing nothing.
  5. Like I already said 3 times by now, DEX decrease your recovery time and cast time, Durance will cast and wait 4 seconds until he can cast again, a custom priest with 15+ DEX will have to wait 2 seconds, 50% less idle time. If you need further proof: Let me see Durance solo the Adra dragon.
  6. I already said on my first comment that I know that every companion can be good on PotD, but a custom priest can be better than Durance, also a custom fighter can be better than Edér. That is just logic.
  7. 1 second faster? Dex can make your recovery AND your cast time faster, so it's more than 1 second, also the end game battles can finish in 10 seconds, or even less, if your priest can cast something faster he will be more viable. Let me explain that better... Durance can cast a dot that will do lots of damage, ok... that is "beast" like you said, then you will have to wait what? 3 to 4 seconds before casting something, my pc priest will wait 1 to 2 seconds, 50% less recovery and cast time... I'll let you do the maths. Oh... no... not the damage, like I already said I have my PC, Edér, Hiravias, Kana and Aloth doing damage so I don't need Durance also doing damage, but a big gunshot in the beggining of the battle that can one shot a mage or even a priest it's satistying for me, but the loud noise of the arquebus is what I find most satisfying.
  8. I think that they are all scared, the idea of a guy hitting on you is scary if you still have doubts of who you are and what you like, lack of confidence.
  9. That's exactly the point: DoTs are so powerful because their damage scales with MIG AND INT. And also crits which prolong the duration by 50%. Sure it takes longer, but dealing 300+ foe-only damage in a huge area with one single spell is very, very powerful. It also stacks with itself. Untitled.jpg Each of these crits is doing 250 burn damage. Unfortunately, Durance was only able to get 4 targets in this casting (ogres are big). Untitled1.jpg Stelgaer on the other hand... I still don't see your point, any custom priest can do more damage than him. The thing is that priests are quite OP on Pillars 1 so if you make one with better attributes they will fare better, it's logical. Priests don't need only INT and MIG they also need DEX, you see... if you cast more quickly you do damage more quickly thus produccing more damage, incredible! One thing that priests don't need is resolve and Durance has a bunch of it, sure he at least can receive 2 hits before dying on PotD - one more than the regular priest - but that is hardly usefull. You don't make anything special with him, you just use his dots - that are good not because Durance is a "beast" but because priests are powerfull -, I really prefer to use him with a gun, it's extremelly more fun than just cast dots after dots.
  10. I said "exclusive for Magran" not exclusive with arquebus, his inspired flame and that AOE that gives +10 acc for erveyone.Yeah, sure - but only one of those is really exclusive to Magran... Every priest can pick Inspiring Radiance. So? It's still 2 skills that he can get for ACC, one exclusive to Magran and one exclusive for priests. The guy said that he had nothing to compensate for his poor acc, and he is quite wrong.
  11. "Note that they were all equipped so some attributes were boosted by itens, but I believe we can get some idea."
  12. I said "exclusive for Magran" not exclusive with arquebus, his inspired flame and that AOE that gives +10 acc for erveyone.
  13. Poor Sagani. Top three companion right there, along with Eder and Durance. Sagain was terrible. At least her attributes were amazing. That Itumaak is a DPS beast tho Yep, 70-80 damage crits that is just insane.
  14. Dex is good, since you can cast buffs faster. Buffs don't even benefit from might so I'd say the priority is Int > Dex > Might for most priests. No but the large AoE, long duration, offensive spells (i.e. Shining Beacon) sure do. Durance is currently leading my party in kills and he’s never equipped anything other than his staff.Your Durance is killing more than Edér, Aloth, Kana, Sagani, HIRAVIAS - the most OP character in the game -, GV, Zahua, Devil of Caroc and Maneha? Well... you should make some better builds for the rest of the party them...That’s one possible explanation. Another is that you don’t know how to play him effectively (i.e. slowly shooting one enemy at a time) I don't know, Hiravias don't give me enough time to deal damage with anyone else.
  15. Poor Sagani. Top three companion right there, along with Eder and Durance. Sagain was terrible. At least her attributes were amazing.
  16. This, and his +10 friendly AoE accuracy bonus on Holy Radiance was a beast which more than made up for his Per weakness. He was a pretty integral part of my party at all times. On anything but PotD you can just skip priest all together. On PotD though? Sign me up with überbuff Durance. Perception and Dexterity are not needed - just intellect for area/duration. The Deadfire Xoti's stats look better because there's what - 4 extra points across the board compared to Durance's? Nah... she looks way better because of high int and dex, dex is important, you should try using a custom priest and you will see how much better they fare, but, like I said, Durance is good enough, at least he can tank some hits.
  17. Dex is good, since you can cast buffs faster. 18. Hmm, why were you mad about low per for Durance...? He's Magran too so he doesn't even have a great +accuracy talent to stack with per. What? That don't make any sense. He has a famous build with the arquebus - that I'm using right now and I have to say it's a lot of fun - that is only possible because he has at least 4 talents that gives him accuracy, 2 of them being exclusive to Magran.
  19. In order to cast fast you need DEX. I don't know which difficult you played on, but a custom priest with only 15 dex were way better than Durance.
  20. No, you basically didn't read a thing on this thread. I didn't convince myself that the sidekicks would be full companions, It was very clear that they would not have a personal quest and that they would not be part of the relationship system, like I said - 5 times by now, I even stated that on my first comment, you should read at least the first comment... - it's understandable, but banter is such a basic thing that I though it was clear that they would have some. Although I liked animancy I don't give a **** about Ydwin but I did use some memes. I want to know the story of Rekke and I have... had... high hopes for Konstanten, because we didn't get any good dwarf companions on Pillars of Eternity 1. It wasn't deceptively advertised? Well... on the FIG page they nerver told us that they would not have any banter... Josh said that on his last stream 2 weeks before the release, and there was this interview: "MM: One of the things we got a first look at for our magazine feature for the first time is this new character, Tekehu. He is one of how many playable party members that join up with you? JS: There are seven companions and there are four sidekicks. The difference between companions and sidekicks is that sidekicks don’t have their own personal questline. Writing companions is a huge amount of work, but we know people love variety in terms of visuals and mechanics. Some wish we could have more companions or more colorful companions that don’t need quests, like Minsc. Minsc didn’t have a personal quest in Baldur’s Gate 2. He was just a cool guy and had funny lines and people thought that was cool and wanted him in their party. So that’s what a sidekick is. So, we have seven full companions with their own quests and relationships and then we have four sidekicks." If I recall correctly Minsc had banter on BG 2. So... there you have it.
  21. Serafen: M: 16 C: 12 D: 13 P: 13 I: 13 R: 15 Strange attributes for a barbarian/cipher, the might is good but the rest is just a mess. Xoti: M: 12 C: 12 D: 16 P: 12 I: 16 R: 13 Well, at least we will have an excellent priest this time - I will never forgive your 9 dex/per Durance... Aloth: M: 14 C: 12 D: 12 P: 14 I: 16 R: 14 It's almost the same... maybe it changes depending on your ending... but he has more Might and less dexterity, with this stats Aloth would be an amazing battlemage. Edér: M: 16 C: 17 D: 11 P: 12 I: 10 R: 14 Well... that is a tank if I ever saw one and a good one. Note that they were all equipped so some attributes were boosted by itens, but I believe we can get some idea. My comments were based only on the usefulness of their attributes in combat. It's a well known fact that their personality have a huge role on their attributes. I also know that the companions are good enough for being used in PotD.
  22. Yep, I don't care about full V.O. and like I said 2 times, the stream had bad to regular V.O. - not the companions, they were amazing. Yes, I'm disappointed with the sidekicks, but I'll play the game, and now that I know they won't even have banter I'll not waste my time using them in my party, so everything is good. I really liked The Endless Paths... maybe it's because I really enjoy the combat system.
  23. We don't have CR companions, we have CR portraits and voice sets and that's it. If you want a character from CR you have to create it yourself. Also Josh mentioned that there will be banters for sidekicks, but only a little, probably only comments about something here and there, not conversation to other companions or sidekicks. And it is quite clear that you can have conversation with your sidekicks, which is more than normal adventurers you create. No he said "little to none" that is quite different from only a little.
  24. They didn't state that there would be banter but they didn't state that there weren't be banters, so you can use that argument for both cases. To be honest I thougth it was quite clear that there would have some banters.
  25. Streach goals in crowdfunding are specific and concrete goals (as opposed to the underlying goal - a better game) used as enticement to get people to contribute more money, the vast majority of which will go into the basic development of the game. Some of them are robust game mechanics (theoretically the relationship system), others are throwaway tchotchkes, and so on - their monetary cost to implement may differ, and so do their subjective value. If you are disappointed that the sidekicks do not live up to your expectations, that's fair enough, but to feel like you've been insulted based on "their cost" is taking it a bit too far. Yes, but like I already said in another comment, back in POE 1 they implemented the stronghold system and the endless paths of caed nua with a 200.000 goal, I don't need to be a programmer to know that the endless paths and the stronghold system were a far bigger implement than 4 custom portraits.
