  1. Have you tried Options -> Settings -> Effects and turning them "Off". I don't recall if that gets rid of the fire in the Villain prelude, but it does cut down a lot of other minor animations and graphics effects.
  2. Panic is clearly the only option. For if Obsidian has the ability to alter when the day begins and ends, what other eldritch powers must they possess?! I've already voiced my suspicions about potential chronomancers hiding in their midst...
  3. FYI, Pathfinder "newday" shifted back an hour if you happen to live somewhere (like USA/Canada) where Daylight Savings Time just ended. What used to happen at 5 PM Pacific (PDT) is now 4 PM Pacific (PST), since it looks like newday has been occurring at 0000 UTC all along.
  4. Ouch. You might want to email support@obsidian.net for further assistance. If the issue persists across installs, there may be something terrible screwed up in your party's cloud save. You could always try to delete the save and reform a new party using your "experienced" characters. The upshot is that it should get out out of the harpy loop without losing characters and game progress. Though, it will reset the difficulty levels you've completed previous scenarios on. If you're working on getting the Reward Cards, deleting your party may set you back a bit of time...
  5. Links should always terminate in the center of the location token. In your pictures, it is easy to see the lines are off-center in both the Guard Tower and Mountain Peak. It is a symptom of a scaling issue that crops up occasionally. The links are generally pointing in the right direction, but the aspect/zoom ratio is slightly off giving minor divergences. Usually it's not even noticeable, but in this case the displayed links may be misleading.
  6. The 6-player issue appears just to be a misleading map display. The line connecting down from the Mountain Peak appears to be connected to the Academy, but it is in-fact just passing through down to the Temple. I did my best to replicate; got everyone drawn over to the Mountain Peak, closed it out, and all my characters were able to make the descent back down to the Temple with no issue.
  7. The Mountain Peak and Academy are not connected. The line you see is passing through, down to the Temple. The connection lines between locations can occasionally glitch or shift, making it difficult to tell for sure what locations are tied together. The game map with movement restrictions should look like the image below. I formed a 6-man party, got everyone drawn to the Mountain Peak, closed it out, and were able to move everyone back down to the Temple with no issue. The disconnected Mountain Peak issue seems to only affect small parties. When medium/large parties are played, the locations have the correct bi-directional links. [Edit: Better image]
  8. I'm pretty sure that's exactly what is happening. One scenario I remember ended: 1. Reveal a Headless Lord on the first or second explore, defeated him and passed the check to close the location 2. Draw down 8 or 9 location cards and reveal the villain 3. Oops, location can't close! The Headless Lord un-banishes himself and shuffles back in 4. Proceed to fight the Headless Lord a half-dozen times and pass/fail the closing check until I finally draw the villain I might go back and try to replicate the sequence of events for fun, but I was so amusingly frustrated by the end-game of that scenario that the memory stuck with me.
  9. Inheritor's Favor/Favorite: Yes, this is a known problem. The "improved" version of the feat just does not work at all. No options; the card just gets discarded. At least it doesn't get banished; that was an issue with Merisiel earlier. Devs seem to be aware, no ETA on a fix. Dawnflower's Favor/Favorite: Different, yet similar issue. Reports range from not even being able to select it to it having the same problem as Seelah's power. I'm not sure where it stands right now. My Kyra is already maxed out, so I am unable to give it a test. Sorry. I can't think of any other powers right now that have a three-way selection (Shuffle/Recharge/Discard), so it would be really unsurprising if the two problems were related.
  10. Glad it worked! The "Effects" option is not explained very well. It is less of an On/Off thing and would be better described as High/Low. I think it is possible that the Shrine may just have more background effects than other locations.
  11. Have you tried going to options and turning "Effects" off? That should cut out some of the extra animations (the center two torches should still be "lit") and put a limit on visual effects. It could help out a little if the root problem is underpowered graphics hardware on the tablet. I can't think of anything else to try aside from maybe using the "Phone" version of the interface. It isn't as fun to use on a tablet, but it should also minimize some of the in-game visuals and window decorations. If that still doesn't work, maybe try emailing the devs directly at support@obsidian.net. Seems like they haven't been cruising the forums lately... everyone is probably busy with the release of Tyranny next week.
  12. Assuming the offer expires at game New Day, anyone still interested in the promos has less than 6 hours to decide.
  13. This sort of thing has been happening a bunch lately. Next time it occurs, check the top-middle of the screen, tap on "Combat" and verify that it is using Dexterity instead of trying to make a "Ranged" check (a skill that Lem does not have). The game should pick the most advantageous roll for you, but recently there have been a lot of cases of the game inadvertently choosing a worse roll for you to attempt. And regarding your scenario, that exact question came up a few years back, and the game developer agrees with your interpretation of how things should work.
  14. Scenario completions (and difficulties) with regards to achievements should stick even if parties get corrupted or deleted. That information is stored separately. I can't say for sure if the data also gets audited concerning Reward Cards. Last I heard, the devs still recommended that in order to receive reward cards, you should beat the legendary scenarios with the same party.
  15. Yes. Something like that. The character save structures individually keep track of conquests in order to prevent them from being re-rewarded feats. However, the party's .sav file keeps a record of the highest difficulty a each scenario has been completed on. If you were to form a party with one experienced character and a team of noobs, the "party" will have completed all the scenarios on normal up to the max of the experienced character. You can then kick out the experienced guy, and the party will still have the same completion even if none of the characters have ever done a thing. The disconnect feels exploitable, but it still doesn't get you much. The most creative use would be to sherpa new characters through AD3 Into the Mountains first, then go back and load up on Role Feats. Though, last I heard that was bugged and may not work any more.
  16. Minor text error in one AD4 Under Jorgenfist cutscene. Though, his name does look a little more menacing without a space in the middle.
  17. The scenario Vault is generated at the beginning of each game session. A number of random treasure cards get added to the Vault in the beginning of the game, and then the game may randomly select from them to build the location decks. Not every treasure card has a chance to be found in every scenario. The Vault also doesn't change mid-game. If you were to acquire new Treasure cards while you had a scenario saved in the background, then you won't have a chance to possibly find it until the next scenario.
  18. FYI, you will lose your party's record of completed scenario difficulties. Wiping the save and forming a new party with your Experienced characters should allow you to continue, but if you were knocking out all the scenarios on Heroic and Legendary to get the Card Rewards, you'll have to start over again. Sorry
  19. Ah. You are correct! I'm not sure why I never really noticed the distinction. If I'm playing with permadeath on, I guess I have a tendency to forfeit a losing game before doing anything that may risk killing off a character.
  20. A single Staff of Minor Healing should start showing up in Quest Mode Tier 2 (i.e. Level 20+). But you are otherwise correct. A handful of cards got shuffled up and down in the Adventure Decks to provide some "balance" to Quest Mode.
  21. I can assure you that the random number generator does not play favorites or hold a grudge. Sometimes the dice and scenario modifiers just aren't in your favor. Without getting too far into the details, the game uses a pretty standard method to draw random numbers. On the "randomness" scale, it should have a distribution somewhat better than the cheap plastic RPG dice that would have been found in the tabletop version of Pathfinder Adventures. It's just how it is. Not to slow progression, but to slowly crank up the difficulty as you progress in level. As your characters gain in level, the game generates harder scenarios based on a series of quest templates. Sometimes it takes a a bunch of failures and narrow victories to help "gear up" your characters whenever they get bumped to the next set of templates. A 33% loss rate is pretty typical when it's time to go hunting for better cards. Also, I'm not a fan of the all-or-nothing approach to XP either. It would be nice to leave every scenario with at least the XP from defeated banes. I'm sure there's some reason for the decision, but there should be some sort of incentive to stick out a losing scenario. Edit: Need to pay better attention to my losses. It's been pointed out that you do, in fact, get to keep your bane XP when you run out the clock.
  22. Yes. That should work. I've occasionally had a character with three shields in hand, and were able to reveal all three to reduce a ton of damage. The app does know the difference between each card. Once a card leaves the vault for play, it is assigned unique identifier to keep it separate from other instances of that card. While there may be the occasional "oops" or exploit, the game does keep track of things like usage on a per-card basis.
  23. Like treasure cards, dice limits are calculated by party. That way, if you only have one elemental fire dice, one character in each party can equip it. Only allowing you to use the dice selection screen for active party members is a means to enforce/highlight those limits. Also true. Dice selections have been part of the character save for a while. I'm not sure if the "revert to blue when you leave/disband a party" was ever a thing; it certainly isn't now. Dice should "stick" to a character when you do something sync-worthy like starting or finishing a scenario. If you were to combine several characters into one party that would have more of one dice style than you possess in your collection, the same audit that destroys excess copies of treasure cards should revert some members to the default blue dice to maintain allowed limits.
  24. Dragging and dropping stuff that you shouldn't be able to has been reported and is also related to this bug. If the dev response is to be believed, patches are inbound to clamp down on players being able to take advantage of the UI. Cheat it up while you still can, folks! Edit: typo
  25. It's a Pathfinder issue. I was about to post something similar. Your Pathfinder TitleDisplayName (i.e. "Name #1234") is only set once if it sees you don't have one yet. It will not change to reflect further updates to your username in the Google Play store or iOS Game Center. As long as your account seems to be working right and all your DLC is there, the good news is that it is purely cosmetic. Currently, the display name is just a shorter identifier to use when reporting bugs. The devs should be able to update it manually if you email support@obsidian.net. Maybe someday in the future, the app will check if your TitleDisplayName needs to be automatically updated.
