Hey alanschu, ever hear of history?
  12. I think buying a PS3 for one title is setting yourself up for disappointment. Make sure you're interested in the rest of the console's library. There are some other worthy PS3 titles, depending on your tastes.
  13. If you're worried about whether the game will actually run on your PC, you might as well wait for when Resident Evil 5 comes out for 360/PS3 tentatively in March next year.
  14. Fallout 3 is more suited for Morgoth.
  15. I bought the Atari DD version of MOTB too. Not needing a CD/DVD is great. I don't remember when they had it available, but I don't remember really having to 'wait' compared to other gamers. On the other hand, I bought the Direct2Drive version of NWN2 and got to play it ahead to other people around here ^___^
  16. Don't kill me, man.
  17. Oh man, Hurlshot, you just got burnt *AGAIN*. Anyway, looks like the reception around here is more positive than I'd expected overall, aside from the usual suspects. Not that I particularly care too much at this point, given that I have little nostalgic value related to Fallout (series was ok/good, I don't give it too much value), and the past 2 Bethesda titles have been absolute trainwrecks despite positive reviews, and I still haven't seen anything to make me try out the game. The more writing talent Bethie gets, the better. Good think they already started with George Ziets.
  18. The hype morons are blowing it out of proportions. It's not the game of the forever, but it is a very fun title.
  19. I've got it. Only played the levels that were in the beta so far. With 3p local co-op, the game is a blast. Now, the thing is, we spent most of the time slapping each other (off ledges) and painting each others' faces with stickers, but just running around grabbing at everything, and racing to collect the little orbs was all good platforming fun. I still find the controls a bit floaty, but you get used to it. Yeah, 'casual' appeal, but for the level-builder, the toolset is very powerful, while still remaining fairly easy to use (though if you want to make some complicated/detailed, it can be pretty time-consuming). This is one aspect of the game that the casual community won't touch much on, but that's the beauty of the game. Accessible to people who want to build complex levels, and accessible to people who just want to jump in and play. Community levels are apparently fairly easy to find. Co-op toolset is an awesome feature, and Nick and me will be brainstorming there.
  20. 360/PS3 demos are out. The game has always been interesting from a design perspective, but I've been skeptical about the actual execution. The demo is pretty short, but does a good job showcasing the gameplay. The controls are extremely intuitive. I'm pretty impressed. The controls on both systems are fairly similar, but I think I might actually give the PS3 the edge here, given the emphasis the game puts on the shoulder buttons (the triggers and bumpers on the 360 pad are too 'different' from each other). I'll definitely buy the game now - the question is really, when? Full price or bargain bin, hmmm.
  21. Tim Cain is working on some unannounced NCSoft MMORPG. Can't be bad!
  22. Yeah, I really like it.
  23. The great thing about FO3 is that it allows you to pause the game in order to aim by default. It's pretty innovative.
