  1. Man, I can't wait until Bethesda does BG3 next!
  2. Considering that the attached screen is from one of my more anticipated titles of 2009 (4th in a series, so it's selling enough), there's certainly a place for niche games. The entire wargame genre focuses on the low-cost, low-sell, no-compromise-to-gameplay approach. Though, more of those games are being made by pretty small teams, most of whom work part-time or full-time in another 'real job' to make ends meet. There's certainly *some* place for small teams who wanted to make turn-based tactical RPGs with a focus on gameplay and less on bells and whistles. I guess that's where things like Vogel and Age of Decadence shove their ugly heads in.
  3. I was stuck for a little bit on one of the platforming puzzles, but overall it was no big deal. Not the game's strength, though. They should have focused it more on the chases.
  4. Yeah. Yeah, you're nerdier now.
  5. Yeah, who needs caring when all you really need is Fallout 3
  6. Well, you got your nerdier wish.
  7. Waa waa Mirror's Edge is too hard. There's a reason why games have gone the way of Bioshock and Too Human or Fable 2. Why bother playing when you can die in them? Not that I'm faulting Prince of Persia. The Elika saving crap is just a concealed checkpoint system. Though one wonders how easy a game could possibly be when even reviewers - who usually suck as gamers - complain about its ease.
  8. Don't lie, Hades. Her BOYFRIEND - with whom she is having a meaningful relationship - bought it, and she's just tagging along for the ride. A horrible, bug-ridden 3D non-isometric ride. But do NOT imply she paid for it. She wouldn't pay for that crap.
  9. The game's still supposedly easy, but the 'no dying' checkpoint shouldn't be the reason behind it. If anything, it saves you 5-10 seconds at the game over screen.
  10. Hey, suddenly I really hope BG3 materializes itself soon.
  11. Well, you kind of need people to share holidays with in order to appreciate them.
  12. The demo thing was because it was a preorder bonus. Which is pretty stupid. As long as the concept of time trials appeals to you and you liked the demo, game should be worth your while. People will complain that one playthrough is 6-8 hrs, but mastering the gameplay will really lie on the time trials and speed runs, where you'll be looking for shortcuts and maneuvers to cut down on your time by a few secs here and there. That doesn't appeal to everyone, though. I'm sure Yahtzee raves all over Tombraider.
  13. There are 30 of us playing L4D regularly.
  14. You can do time trial offline. Each track has you race against set times to get 1-3 stars.
  15. I say skip L4D and just get the superior WaW.
  16. Your face has more bugs than NWN had at release.
  17. That still makes it better than that piece of crap, Gears of War 2. I mean, Gears of Crap 2. I mean, Poo of Crap 2. I mean, Pool of Radiance 2.
  18. N'est pas, Magical Volo, n'est pas?
  19. OMG OMGOMOMOMOGMOMGOMGOMGOGMOGMOGMG FUNCROC JUST REVEALED SOME BREAKING NEWS SKYWAY IS DEVELOPING BG3
  20. You're just bitter because your Coop partner can't fart! Yeah, we decided to pass on Fable II
  21. Man, you console fanboy.
  22. Are they? Haven't heard anything about Silicon Knights recently (other than them releasing the soundtrack for 15 bucks, yay).
  23. People downloading the TH demo != sales. Lots of people were disappointed with it. On the other hand, it probably did convert a few people wouldn't have bought it because of the negative hype beforehand. I doubt that amounts to many people. I don't have numbers, but the general impression was that it pretty much bombed.
