Then why bring up 130-160 point seasons? You're as guilty as I am for talking in future tense. Plus, you asked me what it would take for Crosby to live up to the hype. The hype is about what type of impact he will have in the game of hockey...not how good his rookie season is. Even if he gets 140 points this season, if he comes back and averages 40 points per season for the rest of his career, I think it's safe to say he didn't live up to the hype. Even then I still think he needs to do a bit better this season for him to have lived up to the hype for his rookie season. He's having a great season, but in order for his rookie season to live up to the hype, I'd still say he needs to perform at an even higher level. If he can keep up tonight's performance, then more power to him. The loss of Palffy and Mario has put him even more into Mario's situation, and he seems to have had an inspired game. In other news, it's was great to see the comeback. I'm sure Giguere is in the dog house.
  2. I used to be pretty bad for it. "WTF?? My arm is broken and now my aim sucks? Screw that!" "OMG my ear was bitten off, and now my Charisma sucks? Screw that!" Since I've stopped though, I find games more exciting as they tend to be more unique on replays, and certainly more challenging.
  3. I agree. In fact, I probably wouldn't mind if the whole plot progressed over the relationship that you have with both your Master, and your apprentice. Whatever that plot may be.
  4. It's good for healing rapidly, as well as treating serious ailments like broken bones and whatnot. Unfortunately I find people usually just end up reloading the game when this happens, so there's actually little point
  5. "I'm hoping for a fully fleshed out, Master-Apprentice role, where over the course of the game, you move from Apprentice to Master." IMO you were hardly a "Master" as all you did was go through a dialogue that flipped a magical switch that enabled Jedi powers.
  6. The setting is about the only thing important to Fallout. It's a fictional world, and a ruleset is just an abstraction that is created to handle interactions in that world. I'd be very happy if they came up with a system that was even better than SPECIAL.
  7. What, no consideration to the setting. It seems silly that people have these demands such as "must have camera style control X" and "use rule system Y" and so on, otherwise they will absolutely not be buying the game. My preference for a game is that it must be FUN. Next up, interesting...which is related to fun. The only concern I have for cameras and controls is that they are intuitive and don't hinder the game experience. This is because I like games, and enjoy playing fun games. If it is a fun game, I will get it. People here are such hardliners that even if the gaming consensus agrees that Fallout 3 completely revolutionizes the games industry with phenomenal storywriting, fantastic plot, magnificent characters, with all the freedom of choice and a tight story and pull off a 1 in a million perfect game....if it doesn't use SPECIAL then you just aren't buying it. Yeah right
  8. Just like you had sworn off PC gaming for consoles and were never coming back. Or all of your bitching about KOTOR2 (and KOTOR1) because of them forcing you down the path of the Jedi. Remember, the only reason why you even played it is because someone else bought it for you, right? You've already caved on your previous stance of demanding that it by a 2D isometric view, because that's what "Fallout is." If there's one thing I've learned on these boards, is that your word doesn't mean very much. IMO you're just a drama queen.
  9. What about the insanely annoying fact that you are forced to be a Jedi?
  10. Actually, the most effective way would probably be a written letter actually. I would probably suggest doing both actually. You can find some mailing address (and e-mail addresses) here. Give the Product PR guys a try. If you can't decide which one, do all of them.
  11. I didn't have a problem reading it.
  12. Perhaps KOTOR 3 should be entirely in l33tsp34k! I'm hoping for a fully fleshed out, Master-Apprentice role, where over the course of the game, you move from Apprentice to Master.
  13. It's not your fault. You're a product of the State of Cynicism.
  14. Hmmmm...... If you're going to reload after mistakes, then I think that makes your previous claims less impressive. I don't think you can rightly say you've only lost one battle if that is the case.
  15. I think Aribeth's quick decision is what prompts many people to come to the conclusion.

The hype is the type of player they will come. Besides, it's quite clear this discussion was never about what he does in his rookie year alone. You're trying to sidestep the issue. You were the one, after all, talking about putting up 130-160 point seasons, and I'm pretty sure you aren't expecting that to happen this year. Don't forget players like Eric Staal either. And since you brought it up, Gretzky's first year in the NHL had him tied with Marcel Dionne for 1st in points, with a 12 point lead over Lafleur and a 31 point lead over 4th place Perrault. And the only reason why Mario didn't crack the top 10 was because he missed 7 games in his season. Though Sid is crushing both of them in PIMs. Sid better pick it up if he wants to break the top 10 in points, and it's not going to get any easier with Palffy (and to a lesser extent Lemieux) out of the picture.

Nope. I'm talking the entire league. He hasn't played long enough to live up to the hype. EDIT: Don't forget about players like Staal either. Or Spezza, or anyone else for that matter. Besides, I'm not even sure how you interpreted that as my definition. I said be alone, at a level beyond elite status. Considering he's not even in the top 10 in scoring, he's clearly not there yet.
  18. You still have to click on the target. Careful, he's fast! See if you can do it without pausing!
  19. No no no, that's when you give a Gabs like response, and say "It just is" or "If I have to explain that wretched filth, I don't know if I'd be able to live with myself" or something else cynical.
  20. We are talking BG here. *draws out Sword of Balduran and kills it with one hit* <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That would require the manual dexterity of moving and swinging the sword. I'm just not so sure you have it. Never! It is the epitome of irony, and hilarity!
  21. Hmmmm, I think Volo and I have different interpretations of the "Chosen One" term. I'd consider NWN to be one, as well as KOTOR. I have not played JE enough.

Play at a level that goes beyond mere "elite" status. It doesn't necessarily mean alone. For instance (since we like to bring them up), Mario and Wayne were both pretty dominating players, and while Wayne did have a lot more points, Mario was right up there with him. If it's say Crosby and a few others, that are all clearly at a different plateau of ability, I'd say yes. If it is Crosby, with Kovalchuk, Nash, Ovechkin, Heatley, Staal, Spezza, and Thornton, then I'd say no. And this isn't to say that it'd be a poor career. It's more a testament to how silly hyped up he was. Which all stemmed from the fact that I was happy he isn't running away with the Calder, because all of that preseason hype would still be going on. Not that it's gone. There are people (many of them Pittsburgh fans, not surprisingly) that go absolutely ape**** if you mention Ovechkin and Crosby in any sort of comparison.
  23. You obviously seem more informed than me. I'm thinking Ab & On are not on the list because they already have all the money and must spread the wealth. So the rich must give to the poor. What's wrong with that? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I never said anything is wrong with that. And yes, they aren't on the list because they spread out the wealth. You said: "Actually, Ontario and Alberta get more money then Quebec. Our PM(if you can call him that...) has been asking for a more equal sharing of Federal economy for years and it is one of the thing he(it?) hope the conservatives will implement. " Furthermore, my point was brought up that Quebec receives a lot of money from the other provinces. This just a fact. It's not an inference, nor a judgement, so please don't make it one. If Quebec became independent, they would lose this. EDIT: A bang up job quoting yourself there Reinoc. If you are referring to my question about how are Canadian's "strangers" to you, you should probably quote that so I know what you're talking about. Unless you just liked to make it exceptionally clear that the "we" was separatists? So how are Canadians "strangers" to you? What does separating from Canada do for you? Why is it so important? How will things be different, after secession?
