Joe is having a helluva season too. Still hoping for a fix from you goaltending woes. Mkreku might be happy, because there is a rumour that Belfour might possibly be it. At which point he'll hopefully regain old form, win Conn Smythe leading us to the Stanley Cup
  2. You can abstract any game to look simplistic though. SMAC = build bases, research tech, build units. I bet the game is not very hard to play, but it will be exceptionally elegant, intuitive, and just plain fun. I mean, SimCity isn't a particularly complex game, but it still has you making tons of decisions. I'd be surprised if this one was any different.
  3. It's not a real 3D RTS, it's all on a flat plane. It's no different really than C&C or Starcraft in that respect.
  4. I remember Deathclaws having insane AP and moving (and attacking) quite quickly. It seemed if I didn't kill it in maybe 2 turns, I was screwed. The mother was even worse.
  5. The game is excellent. If only they had multiplayer.
  6. THat's Galactic Civilization 2. I also enjoy that game
  7. I have nothing against a blockbuster movie. I enjoyed movies like Braveheart, Gladiator, and whatnot.
  8. Not in a row, no. I enjoyed the game, but I enjoyed Half-Life 2 much, much more. Even with its ending. (Which I actually liked).
  9. Well, Carmack is a pretty smart guy.
  10. I don't disagree with the building of the roads, but keep in mind that trade networks can be created via rivers as well.
  11. I wouldn't entirely disagree with the decision. I felt the environments in Doom 3 had really good atmosphere.
  12. Well, you did say "you are here longer than me" not "you have been here longer than me." So your statement probably isn't incorrect.
  13. Well, we can't speculate on that. We can only go on what we were given.
  14. Deathclaws, deathclaws. How can you not have played a game with monsters called deathclaws??
  15. I actually wouldn't mind if this was the greatest RPG ever, since I enjoy playing good games.
  16. Quake Wars is on the Doom 3 engine. I don't think it is even that heavily modified. Doom 3 did support open environments, it just rarely used them. THere are a few instances where you go out onto the surface of the planet and there is wide open spaces. The game design just didn't call for it. Quake IV is on the Doom 3 engine as well, and it also has wide open environments.
  17. Heh, yay.
  18. The second I saw it was Bruckheimer I knew it wasn't going to be much in terms of historical accuracy or believability.
  19. He has since reverted back to PC gaming.
  20. Yeah. I was just expecting more of an explosion, which id has always seem to do. Even if their games aren't that great, their engines have always been popular to license. Though I think this might have more to do with Epic and their engine.
  21. You must not have been here when he swore off PC gaming, and was only going to play console games from now on.
  22. I think he's too daft to realize I was making fun of him. To be fair, Quake 4 wasn't them, it was Raven. Though I am surprised the Doom 3 engine didn't take off.
  23. "You can't die, you're going to be a father!" "No....<urk>....you are!" <dies>
