  1. ..... All you did was play a bad game that happened to be SPECIAL in realtime. Proving that SPECIAL cannot be done in realtime is impossible, because you'll never be able to try every permutation of game design with the SPECIAL system (i.e. because there's an infinite number). If people gave up on something because one iteration didn't work, we wouldn't even be talking on this forum, and would likely still be in the dark ages. Stop being unreasonable, and think before you speak. All you did was play a **** game. To state, absolutely, that RT SPECIAL is impossible because one game sucked, is just being unreasonable. You'd think someone that has a University degree would understand empiricsm, and recognize that a sample size of one is useless. NOTE: This is why I poked fun at you in the other thread.....you clearly are not a reasonable person.
  2. Define "significance." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The reason why I asked you what you meant by started, was because Wolf3D was NOT the first ever FPS. As for impact, Doom dominated Wolf3D in basic shareware distributions as well as sales. And it was actually 3D. Wolfenstein is played on an entirely flat plane...there is no Z-axis.
  3. I've been squad leader a few times, and actually played with a squad that did a good job of working together...even with strangers. It is unusual though.
  4. At least Eldar agrees with me about Doom's significance "
  5. The movie focuses around Riddick, therefore he's the protagonist. Protagonists don't have to be good guys. Dracula is the protagonist of the Dracula movies.
  6. What does this actually mean? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It means that they likely have zero understanding of the explanation themselves, and figure they'd just gloss over exactly what is happening, pissing off physics majors everywhere.

On a very impressive play by Hemsky!
  8. If I had a points:death ratio though, it'd be pretty good. I had a ton of fun playing as a medic, and have no qualms about going after flags, or defending them.
  9. Tough to say until we actually see it.
  10. Which means at the very least, it will serve as a gateway game into the industry, making it more popular.
  11. Propaganda is also important in an authoritarian government. Logistics
  12. To throw gasoline on the fire, what separates your definition of an RPG, and playing "make believe?"
  13. Quantum computing defies standard circuitry. Besides, the article stated that the photon doesn't "pass through" anything, so even by your definition, it isn't on.
  14. Points is what matters. Most of my KD ratios for my kits are less than 1:1, except maybe the engineer since I am usually an engineer when tanking. Do a compare on "alanschu" to see.
  15. Currently trying to take over the entire world in a new game of HOI2. Though I think I got off to too slow of a start (still waited for a lot of history to occur).
  16. Yes. There was quite a long time when we were waiting for one more person to join. None of Hurlshot's snipes, nor my G36Cing means anything if you aren't there!
  17. Then report it.
  18. I think the largest campaign is 43 planets or so.
  19. Hey....it's her life, and it's now or never for her
  20. Either that or kumquatq3 is posting a novel.

I was sort of hoping the dog was going to maul the girl for saying a lame joke "
