You missed a part in the chronology though. EA acquires BioWare and then all of a sudden DAO finally ships. Sure you can look at that and get upset because they also helped push forth the console versions (which is defintely a risk mitigation maneuver).
-
Who should they blame than? It's EA or Bioware. There is no third party. BioWare.
-
Hey, I blame EA because I'm trying not to blame BioWare. If I can go ahead and blame BioWare, let me know lol. I'll oblige! I'd prefer you to hold us accountable for it, yes. People wholly overstate the difference, as though the "independent BioWare" suddenly had full on freedom to deliver games whenever they like. Let's look at something like Origin. If you read up on the Escapist's recap, Origin sold to EA because... they were bankrupt. Due to the economic climate, Garriot was unable to obtain financing from banks, and given that he already ran the business model of "Well if we need more money I guess I'll just invest some more of my own money" and the extreme risk that that came with doing that, he found himself in a situation where he needed to seek other avenues to keep the staff employed and the studio open. I admit, I do look forward to reading your thesis. EDIT: Removed some commentary that really was just not necessary.

One of my biggest beefs is when people blame EA (as in corporate EA) for DA2's schedule.

Almost a quarter of men 'admit to rape in parts of Asia'

This is indeed true. I guess I more meant that I was curious how common false accusations are relative to their rates of reporting, compared to genuine cases of rape/sexual assault and how frequently the media reports on those. -

I have nooooooo doubt that there are people that do bad bad things that make it worse for all of us. I'm just curious because, with my own assumptions, I wouldn't be surprised if an event like this is so shocking that it's exposure is higher because it has a lot of good things going for it for a media story. -
That used to be accounted for by the price increase, though the big titles on PC tend to be the same price as a console release. It's probably just more likely that consoles is where they will get a large swath of the sales, that economies of scale cover any difference and that it's best for them to focus on that title than to split their time somewhat.

Almost a quarter of men 'admit to rape in parts of Asia'

How big of a problem is it, actually? I'm curious about over-representation in the media as well. There was an ad campaign in Edmonton that was posters that would say "Don't be that guy" with messaging along how if she is too drunk to consent, it's not okay. A Men's Rights group put up posters with similar imagery, pointing out "Don't be that girl" with messaging about how just because you regret it doesn't mean you're consensual. It's also interesting because the Steubenville case, as well as one in Nova Scotia (which ultimately ended with the girl killing herself) did not really give me the impression that men are seen as guilty from the get go. In both situations I think there was a lot of support for the young men and in the case of the Nova Scotia girl, plenty of "**** shaming" as news of her exploits went around. I think part of the problem for this is that people over state the notion of "cry rape because you regret it" and in these cases, so there's still incidents of "women are vindictive." A large problem, in that even if it doesn't happen very much, definitely ARE situations where women falsely cry wolf. Some overly inebriated women (3 of them) in Edmonton wanted to take a taxi, and when they were belligerent the taxi driver kicked them out of the cab. In response, they started accusing him of touching them and called the police on him. Fortunately, the cab driver had it all on video and no charges were laid, but man oh man did those women ever do something that is very serious and should never be done because it only undermines the capabilities of legitimate victims to seek help. Was so frustrating. I am worried, however, that these incidents while rare get great exposure, leading them to happen more often than not. Especially among later teens and young adults, however, I definitely get the impression that a lot of people feel that rape accusations come from women with regrets/vindictiveness, rather than actual victims. I don't know if this is a fair interpretation based on actual behaviour, but my gut tells me that it's probably not. -
HAHA. I reviewed the footage from the previous part and noticed that that window scene may have had more significance. The "OH NO" reaction can make me miss stuff

Yeah, I learned that. I was doing that, but not with enough coverage

Parts 3 and 4 are my favourite so far. 6 and 7 (still being uploaded/processed) are a bit slower because I am bad at games hahaha.
-
Part 5 here: I tried with higher resolution in parts 6 and 7, so they are still being made. But they are very large so that likely won't last or I'll destroy my upload limit.

I did not play Napoleon. Given that the setting of Empire didn't really resonate with me, I ended up skipping it.
-
Hahaha, Empire is bar far the one I enjoyed the least XD Shogun 2 did so much so well (and had some excellent DLC), but it lacked the faction diversity that Rome 2 has.
-
I guess everyone varies somewhat. I am enjoying Rome 2, and I enjoyed Shogun 2, and continue it to be an improvement over the previous game.

I'm not a technical gun person at all, but for me M-14 is still the old school one. The new ones are M-14 in name only!!

It's fun. No obviously feedback aside from "continue"

Hard to not think "I need to recruit more men" after that! Alternative would be to potentially drill them so you lose less in the future?

THis is an old school strategy game?!?!?! 52 samurai doesn't seem like much. I think upping those numbers is a good idea!

Surprising. How do you endure a place like this? -
The timing is definitely short (especially compared to WoW), but ultimately if one hadn't picked it up, they wouldn't be playing it now, which may be less than ideal to them. It's like people complaining that a game goes on a Steam sale a month after you buy it. Well, yeah, it'll probably have a Steam sale at some point. But that doesn't help much if you are interested in playing it now.
-
Is it the word "free" that bothers you? Because it's not uncommon for the price of goods to decline, especially video games. They just don't usually hit "free." (Although in some cases, like TF2 and whatnot, they actually do). Would you still be upset if it only cost $5? $2?

Unfortunately, your response ends up reading as one of the people that decide to attack someone's spelling in response to their point. I find it interesting that (supposedly) if your Mom had written this to you, your response is that she doesn't write very well and that that is enough for you to no longer want her to be a part of your life. (I understand that you were likely posting tongue in cheek. I just feel it had the opposite effect that you had intended)
