Prism Program ( Big Brother gone too far?)
I think there might be a deferral to the importance of intelligence integrity (that I probably also am ascribing to) based on some historical accounts of compromised integrity. Andrew May's revealing of the inadequate depth of Japanese Depth Charges (I don't have any source to corroborate whether or not the Japanese did alter their strategies, unfortunately). Cracking Enigma in Europe Cracking the Japanese codes (resulting in increased reinforcement of Midway, as well as shooting down Yamamoto's plane) in the Pacific. So I can understand the initial outrage, especially if Manning didn't know for certain the information that was all contained in his leak. If he did, this is less of an issue (assuming the leaks didn't really contain much actual information that would be useful). Of course, for all I know intelligence operations are not at all like they were back in WW2, because the whole process was still quite new, relatively speaking.

Dragon Age: Inquisition Developmen+PE Beta Thoughts
It gives an indication on how people are playing your game and what sort of events they are having. This is most important within the context of having the public playtest your game, less so for the actual development team (because it's so small). You don't tend to get much in the way of helpful information with public playtests, as most people just want to play the game early.

Prism Program ( Big Brother gone too far?)
Is it safe to say something didn't happen? (I haven't followed this closely enough) I would have categorized it under "I have no clue if something did or did not happen" based on my ignorance, however. EDIT: Just to be clear, I agree with the sentiment that simply because something COULD have happened (through logical deduction), doesn't mean that it did. The lack of evidence against said event happening is not evidence that said event did happen.

If this was true, there'd be no advantage in doing it!

Saints Row 4
I wouldn't be surprised if, on some level, it was in part a "slam dunk" to help keep THQ alive.

Dragon Age: Inquisition Developmen+PE Beta Thoughts
There's a difference between reporting bugs, and complaining that a beta isn't stable and has issues. A friend of mine is in the FFXIV beta, and she sees all sorts of absurdity of people flipping out that the beta has server downtime and stuff like that. The reality is, a lot of people want beta access because they really, really, really want to play the game as soon as possible. But this over enthusiasm turns to vitriol when they realize it isn't what they expected.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
As much as I can find Volourn's posting style grating from time to time as well, this doesn't exactly help the situation very much.

Dragon Age: Inquisition Developmen+PE Beta Thoughts
For almost any game with early access for the intent of testing, developers will do well to have a lot of telemetry. Active beta participation (in terms of bug feedback) has often been quite low, in my experiences, so if you can ensure that those that don't report anything are still providing you with feedback, you help maximize the benefits for doing so. For a lot of people (I'd argue most, but I couldn't say for certain), Early Access/Beta is simply early access to the game.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
Different strokes. I let myself get excited from time to time as well, though I do try to temper it somewhat because if I get too hyped/excited then games can be impossible to live up to the hype. Though I can't remember the last game I was genuinely disappointed with. Maybe Far Cry.

Conquering backwards nations in Africa (and taking some Norwegian holdings in North America). Also finally consolidated the mess that was Bohemia! (it was like a 150 year long process or so, it seemed... haha). No eying Burgundy, while also focusing on developing my economy more by leveraging my mountains of ducats to build manufactories (which affect both trade and production income, which makes them pretty lucrative). Of course.... I am spending thousands of ducats simply so that I can.... quickly make thousands of ducats..... Also, the Danes aren't so bad. We've dropped embargoes and are now Allies. In a war to help them conquer some of Kazan. Although I doubt I help... Too far away. More in spirit.

What did you think of Shadowrun returns?
I'm not 100% buying that the sole purpose of the kickstarter was to create something for user generated content. If that was the case, continuing to make something like Berlin wouldn't really be worth their time. EDIT: I see that Spider pretty much said that. I should go to bed....

I had to Google that. That predates me even really following the game in any capacity haha.

Saints Row 4
Happening to me too. EU4. SR4, and also Rome 2. I played 48 hours of Saints Row: The Third, and aside from some randomish driving around for fun, was always doing something (did 100% playthrough with a friend).
