  1. Bottom right. New Song of Fire and Ice headcanon.
  2. Perhaps her paternal grandfather was James Bond.
  3. Bovine. Okay, its really Russian. The last Tomb Rader took place in Siberia.
  4. To you people who've played the game, how long after your fathers death is this? To me he sounds about as upset as if he'd dropped a carrot on the floor. I can't remember exactly how long, but I would eat my hat (if I wore a hat, that is) if it was longer than 30 minutes. The opening happens so fast and so little of it makes sense that brushing off papa Ryder (heh) was pretty easy to do.
  5. Welcome to the club. About the only thing Bio could put out now that could possibly entice me to buy one of their games is a Jade Empire sequel, and that's only because I love wuxia so freakin' much and I'm desperate for a wuxia RPG. As for ME:A being a good shooter but bad RPG, no surprise there. Ever since ME1 they've been systematically stripping out the RPG elements and focusing on action. Coincidentally, Bethesda has been doing the same thing with FO and TES. I would love to see Spiders do a spiritual successor to Jade Empire. They've got the janky gameplay but pure love of the genre that BioWare used to have.
  6. Played my ten hours and then got a refund. (First time I've ever gotten a digital refund.) My final analysis is that ME:A is a good shooter but a poor RPG. How and why we are in Andromeda makes no sense, thus far nepotism has been the most important plot point, the NPCs are even dryer than those in DA:I, and the horrible animations (there is no animation rigging; you can't just fix that with a patch). I think I might be done with BioWare forever.
  7. I've got Origin Access so I figured I might as well give it a swing. A bit of clarification: it's not that the facial animations are bad, it's that there aren't any facial animations. There's no rigging on the face to make a tug of a smile pull at the chin, wrinkle the nose, make the eye on that side of the face crease a bit, and bunch up cheek muscles. Instead a smirk is simply pulling the lips to one side of the face. A weird oversight considering that in some of the cut scenes the rigging is there but most of the time it's gone (I don't think this is a bug, I'm reasonably sure that it is a feature they just haven't put in because in those few instances where there does seem to be facial rigging it looks like the faces were hand-animated). As a result, sometimes when there are two people talking to one another and the lack of facial rigging makes their lips look like Play-Doh in the most hideous duck lips you can imagine, and dead doll eyes all around.
  8. ^Are there options to turn off parts of the HUD? Say what you will about how horrible the Witcher 3's HUD was (I certainly have), at least you could turn on or off all the HUD settings.

  10. ^ Because the BioWare of old have all either retired or moved on. ME:A wasn't made by the B-team, but by the C-team who happen to share the same name.
  11. No monky love :'( In all seriousness, at level one you pick either monk or priest.
  12. BioWare removed the power wheel entirely. You and your companions can use three powers each and you aren't given any control over which powers the companions use--companions are all AI. They've also tied single player and multiplayer together, making ME into a multiplayer game you can play with bots.
  13. In every one of these videos companions go down so fast, all because they removed your ability to micromanage them.
  14. ^ Just so you know, I had to google who those people were. I always knew there was a reason Diana bugged the crap out of me (I mean, who is this lady and why is she even in the game let alone my ship?)
  15. WTF. *rolls eyes* That theme song.
  16. We would have super mutant romances. How is that different from scaly alien sex?
  17. I don't like the pitch of the new ship's engine. Since its mostly on space and there's no sound anyway, I'd like it to have a throatier, deeper roar.
  18. Ah, the Dresden files. Pretty fun, and well written. But I seem to recall that he gets roughed up to within an inch of his life in every book. Its one of those where you have to ask: How much damage can one man take before he takes a break Very true, but if you binge read (which I tend to do, which is why I almost always refuse to read series until they are done) the beatings he takes start to feel as if they are done by rote. They're not bad books, but they do follow a particular formula that becomes more apparent as you go along.
  19. I went on a Dresden Files binge last year. Previously I'd only read the first few books. Finished Small Favor last night and started Turn Coat this morning. Not that I don't like the series anymore, but the books have become kinda same-y. I feel like I'm reading them less to find out what happens and more so as comfort food. (Not that I have any intention of stopping now.)
  20. In all these ME:A videos they've never once shown someone playing with keyboard and mouse. My spidy sense is tingling.
  21. Jets have finally cut some (financial) fat off the roster. Now they're saying all their picks are up for trade. I said they should've done this last year.
  22. I feel like they spent 4 million of their 4.5 million budget on writing, and the other 500k on everything else. Seriously, it wouldn't have hurt to put more money into the sound library.
  23. Pet peeve: why would they issue two different directions within 10 seconds of one another requiring you to walk ten feet, interact with an object, and then do the same with another object? Especially with a 3D HUD, they could just as easily have the quest giver tell you to do both things within the same sentence and let you carry it out to make it feel less like you're being told what to do. The last gameplay video had the same problem, rather than conveying information and letting the player preform the action, they have a voice over telling what to do at every little step along the way. Edit: I thought you embedded this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5p_wFVfDxJQ
  24. ^I'm usually against throwing up the peace sign in a picture, but once in awhile an exception comes along.
