    I'm super late to the party, but I've been reading Codex Alera. Honestly, with the way Jim Butcher likes to rag on his own ability to write in the third person I expected it to be rougher. Apparently he was underselling his talent, because they'er great books (I'm no Cursor's Fury right now).

    I'm surprised this hasn't happened yet. There is a WoT game. It's a cross between an FPS and metroid game. I think its freeware now.

    Why would you make a book into a video game? What you do is make a video game within a book IP.

    DJ Butler's awesome. I love his Rock Band Fights Evil series.

    Not having a choice doesn't bother me at all (I say that because some people can't stand not having a choice). In a blank slate character creator I usually play as a guy because I like to role-play big, ugly, mean characters and playing as a dude feels more authentic.

    The problem with any game attempting to be true to Lovecraftian themes is that you already know from the start that you're going to die in the end after going horribly insane and probably killing your family in the process.

    I was about to say that my favorite David Webber books are the Hammer's Slammers series, but that's David Drake.

    I was making a really bad 'I missed the sex party' joke. Sigh. The struggle to hit my comedic timing goes on. Regarding the comic, sure it's long and rambling and has a weak punchline . . . just like every other political joke on this thread.

    This and being indecisive about wanting to be either a continuation or a reboot are the biggest problems with the writing.

    I doubt there was any corporate sabotage. EA offered to let BioWare push back the release date six months, but they declined. More than anything, I see this as combination of recognizing that ME:A was a stinker and distancing themselves from it as quickly as possible, and just wanting to reallocate personnel to work on Anthem. (Remember, BioWare Montreal was originally EA Montreal, and EA loaned the staff out to BioWare to make (under BioWare supervision) ME:A.)

    Origin had a refund policy in place long before steam finally caved into market pressure and added one themselves.

    It's almost impressive how Monolith took a giant spider that ate everything and anything that crossed her path and turned her into a sapient, chaotic good furry. PSA: anime kills.
