Dogs are great. Properly trained they make the best companions(truly man's best friend), they will love their "Master" to the death no matter what abuses theu may be subjected to and they smell a hell of a lot less than a cat. I've had cats and dogs all my life and although cats may be easier to get along with, the rewards of getting a dog, training him/her and actually care and be a good master to him/her are much greater. If I had the means ($$$) I'd gladly open myself a dog shelter and take in all abandoned animals. They deserve so much more(if only respect) than we petty humans allow them to have and yet, they demand nothing. I love them. All.

How about one country, "America", that includes Canada, Mexico and the US, using the American dollar rebaptised the Amerigo? (w00t)

Apocalypto. Interesting in some parts, boring in others. Overall I found it was empty and useless but I was still entertained somewhat. Maybe because of the gore? Meh.

Around the officiel boards they say Galactica could land on Earth and find the 13th tribe in Atlantis, above water, and the following battles with the invading Cylons destroys the continent or something to that effect. I'm thinking more along the lines of pre-history, in which the 13th tribe inhabits Atlantis. The Humans and Cylons fight amongst roaming tribes of Neanderthals. Neither side truly wins, instead they wipe out each other trying to protect a flock of human/Cylon children who end up to be the infamous "missing link" and our ancestors. Or, they could just rewrite Galactica 1980.

Brain fat is bad for arteries?

No. I can't afford 2000$ of PC upgrades to make the stupid thing work.

The Queen. Very interesting film. Too much about Dianna though. Fantastic actors!

Yes, I particularly enjoyed: "I mean these are our fraking marriages we're talking about, it's not some stupid dog fight we can just jink our way out of" That has a an award for best writing all over it... I meant going back to their spouses despite the urges. I liked Lee's little speech to Dee, although corny I felt it was appropriate and natural. This episode has some of the best acting in the series.

a colt is a baby horse - don't see how it could kill a bear . (unless the bear chokes on it)... lol but I'm going for the colts anyway .... Manning deserves a SB Ring :joy: Oh sorry I meant the gun. Like a Colt .45

I know next to nothing about Football so I'll go the Lisa Simpson way: Since you can kill a bear with a colt, I vote for the Colts. :D

Last sunday's episode was one of the best this season. Although there was still a bit too much Kara/Michael - Lee/Dee stuff, it seems to be resolving in a very realistic manner. I liked the way they're handling this. Plus it was one of the most intensely dramatic episode of the entire series and no one dies. Characters we haven't seen much of this season make a comeback with an extra layer of depth added to them like Roslin, Adama, Baltar and most notably Gaeta. The only thing that really pisses me off is that not even a month has passed since the show came back from mid-season hiatus and already they're making us wait two frakking weeks for the next episode?!

Finished Season 1 of Dead Like Me. Started Season 2.

I'm guessing you're in need of a new tv? :D

Of course not. We have to be respectful to other viewpoints on this forum. " I do have a question though that is kinda off-topic. Would the Middle East be considered more occidental or oriental? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Middlental?

I haven't listened to music in a long time. I'd say over 6 months. I mean an album. The radio is on all the time but who actually "listens" to background noise? Anyway, somedays(and I believe everyone agrees) it's almost like my brain is slithering out of my skull... :'(

I don't. But my atheism is... extreme. Apparently.

<_< On topic: First, movie budgets are overblown to extreme proportions. In my estimates, from experience, about 50-70% of Hollywood moola is spent on very trivial things, like "trying" stuff like blowing up a submarine to test if it would look good on screen. I remember watching the Making Of Phantom Menace and thinking WTF??? a few times because I couldn't believe how much money is wasted all over, not to mention time and ressources on things that were "just for fun". My guess is they need to keep the unions busy, whatever the cost. Second, a camera doesn't capture images the same way a computer does. When the whole digital thing came about a few years ago, led by Darth George, many directors didn't want to jump on that band wagon because they believed(rightly so imo) that something is taken away when "filming" digitally. The mechanics of a camera count when filming, Directors and DPs use this to express their vision with the way the machine captures the light, etc. Many movies that are very heavy on SFX are showcases for new technologies, demos for the R&D departments. They can't afford that on TV so they stick with tried and true stuff like blue/green screens and stop-motion models and animations. It doesn't look as nice but it's cheaper. A lot more can be said about this but comparing XBox 360 CGI graphics and animations to SciFi special effects is like comparing the Digital effects of Revenge of the Sith to those of Return of the Jedi. Imho. Did anyone notice that the Purple-Bellies of Firefly are wearing the uniforms/armor of the soldiers in Starship Troopers? "

I hate it when characters start a conversation in the morning and during that conversation there is a cut and the same conversation is suddenly taken place at night or vfar away from the starting point. Example: Ext. Day. City street. Lady: " He was running as fast as he could and then..." Cut to Int. Evening. Mysterious Cave. Lady: "...he fell into a chasm and was never seen again." I see that a lot in Spielberg movies and it gets on my nerves.

Pan's Labyrinth. Pretty good. Unexpected, original and beautiful with lots of creepy violence. The sound blew me away. Then we snuck into Blood and Chocolate. Watched about 15-20 minutes of it and ran away.
