Lingering echoes = not worth it it is like +1 int score total (+10%) to your affliction durations. Yes it lengthens everything that debuffs/ccs the enemy in some way Penetrating Visions is a must at level 1, it basically improves all your non raw shred spells - like Mind Wave, Mind Lance, Mind Waves, Amplified Wave!!!! and there is nothing better to take at level 1 anyways. at level one the only debate is between Iron-Willed and Mind Wave imo. Whispers of Treason+Penetrating Visions is always taken. thanks for the tips! guess i need to respec my character already. currently running a transcendent. gosh it's a quite powerful build. by the way, does anyone take dominate? the nerf on whisper of treason is pretty hard. should have make it 6m though.

building up a cipher myself. was wondering lingering echoes, is it only useful for multiclass? it stated affliction caused by cipher. i check cipher abilities none of the abilities has the affliction keyword. does deception consider as affliction? also wondering if penetrating visions is any useful? it only helps mind blades and mind lance? beside these 2 ability that penetrating vision does nothing.

i'll take takehu anytime over xoti. takehu is a much better healer, with many options for cc and damage. with priest nerfs on devotions and it's long casting time and recovery, priest really need help. priest in first poe was so important and having one in the party is almost a must. in deadfire, priest totally is not needed.

Portraits IV
Archaven replied to Amentep's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
all awesome portraits!. anyone helping on the watercolor yet? -
I find myself with this repeating strategy. Summoning Ogres as meatshields. They are there as blockers. With so many enemies on screen, without blockers it's really hard to manage the battle. I like those skeletons but alas, i would have hope that there's some upgrade teir to make them death knight. Basically more powerful version of it. Since chanter has limited space on skill tree, i was thinking if obsidian can expand the summoner class by having grimoires that allow you to summon different types of creature and that will be neat. Right now i'm using figurines as part of a summoning build which it will be neat if there are grimoires or teacher that can teach you different summoning spells.

Loving this skill as we can lower the deflection skill quickly. I find that most of the mobs i meet in potd all has godly stats. Would really like other class and weapons having similar talent that lower other stats. I did notice that some enemy does not lower their deflection even with confounding blind. Not sure if it's a bug.

Nemnok Quest
Archaven replied to JFutral's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
wondering after doing all nemnok quest are we still able to get him as pet? i did the path where i kill everyone though (but free kaali) -
No. There seems to be progression in these weapons/items. If you lock it behind a later game fights, it basically means no incentive to have that weapon at all. If let's say it's only a bearable fight that is completable once you reached level 15, then for 80% of the game you don't get to use it at all. Right now i see weapons and armors progression is locked behind AR and Penetration. It's kinda crazy when i see +30K gold to upgrade exceptional to legendary (which is just +1 PEN or +1 AR). I would like more rewards for upgrading to legendary (not just mere +1 Pen or +1 AR). Getting the items or weapons earlier is not an issue. Just add level requirement and problem solved.

from https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Evasion Basically with that system a 20% proc will literally happen once and only once every 5 attacks. It's much easier to balance proc stacking that way. if it only happen once every 5 attacks then it's flawed in deadfire system. as it favors full attack. not to mention on the recovery which really makes proccing not that interesting. on the other hand instead of nerfing full attack, i hope obsidian can be more positive and constructive by giving similar full attacks to 2Handed, 1Handed and 1Handed+Shield. i agree with you there. i would vote for fixing unlimited procs (like i said procs attack should not entitle to be procced again). and obsidian can fine tune the proccing to make it not badly overpowered nor overnerfed which might as well don't have it at all.

I would say fix the secondary proc. Do not allow the the proc-ed to meet the requirement for proccing like the primary attack. Also make the proc chance lowering each time and then reset by itself again. Also max proc limit within x seconds. All these can be fine tuned in my opinion. In my opinion, just remove infinite proccing and dont remove proccing mechanism. For example, 33% first proc, 25% proc, 17% , 9% chance. After 6s chance reset to 33% and so on. No secondary proc (where the proc hit can proc again). This is just my suggestion. Of course they can play around by fine-tuning the proccing algorithm. Games like DOTA has proccing algorithm so that this kind of thing doesnt happen.

holy shiiit.. they still haven't fix it? really so hard to not proc the the proc-ed attack?. they remove swift flurry for range due to this. so what's next? swift flurry out of the game? wondering if the proc chance is still 33% in 1.1? i find myself proc-ed few times only in my entire playthrough. very high PER with min's fortune, swift flurry and is a hearth orlan. i thought it was severely nerfed already.
