Well I'm not totally sure but I think Mien comes from diplomatic choices, Ire from Passion and Wit from clever. I haven't tested thoroughly but I went diplo and got Mien.

You can convince them in some cases, for example, Tekehu will stay with the VTC and Principi, and Maia is okay with the pirates. But it might require talking them out of leaving. Then there are factions which they will never, ever agree to work with: RDC for Tekehu and maybe Pallegina, VTC and Huana for Maia (though it was possible to leave her on the ship on the Huana run prior to the patch, she would remain but never talk to you again. Not sure about now). I left maia on the boat during my huana run and she stayed. Maybe because I didn't go to see Hazanui and reject her offer.

So Tekehu has no personal quest? Is taking him to the gullet his quest? Also is there a way to keep faction companions from leaving? Tekehu left on my RDC run. I thought if I didn't have him in my party he would stay.

So have Aloth cast Jolt on my character then proceed as normal with the build?

I've been using these guides. I've only tested out eder so far and I really like his build. It seemed crazy to take his shield away but it works. On a side not, it seems odd to me the Magran disfavours passion. She seems like a very passionate person in Deadfire even admitting she acts hastily.

I noticed when I open the Character tab and click on the appearance button there is no confirm or okay button. I could make changes but I couldn't keep them. It's possible it's my screen, I have 1360x768.

I didn't even think about this when I planned out my Templar. I guess my only option for Kind Wayfarer is Eothas?

I managed it after a few reloads by having Maia snipe him before he got to Giacolo. May have been a fluke but I downed him in 2 shots using Dragon's Dowry.

The real question is how do I recruit his friend Gas Bag!
