  1. Yep! Just make a tweet @WorldofEterntiy and make sure you use the #Deadfire and we will try to answer as many questions we are able to. Yes, we will also be uploading this video to our YouTube channel
  2. So if you were to back a in-game Portrait tier, we would request a headshot photo of your and you will be able to see the in-progress work and provide feedback for the artist. It wouldn't be super intimate as in going step-by-step process, but you will see the work and there will be some back and forth.
  3. Also, created a new thread for you all for Option A to decide on a name for your Pirate Order! http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/91356-community-pirate-order-unique-forum-badge/
  4. Hey everyone! You guys have asked for a special unique forum badge for Deadfire and we want to make that happen! We will be adding an $8 Extra option from the Fig campaign where you will receive an additional forum badge to hoist on your sails! I am creating a new thread so that this discussion is separate from this thread to avoid confusion since two different topics are going on. Lets form this pirate order you scoundrels!
  5. Hey guys, Got an update from Adam in regard of all of your questions. I hope I did my best to you all of your questions answered. Sorry if the questions are out of order or seem disconnected, I just game him a huge list of questions. "At the end of the day, the Pillars design team is going to design the content - this isn't a way for our backers to pay to play designer in the game. Names and equipment of the pirates, and some basic ship customization is included in the tier. In the first campaign, we have a phone call with the primary backer and the designer to set up the idea. This is usually about an hour of time to coordinate the design of the pirate party and any other details. There will be a lot of back and forth through email as well. The crew will be a minor encounter in the world, and will be designed by one of our area designers. The location and how it's integrated will be up to the design team. Most likely it will be a pirate area of the game. However, if you have ideas on where you would like it and any story surrounding the party please send it our way and we can do our best to keep the flavor of your ideas intact. We treat backer content in the same way that we treat other ideas that come from the team - they have to be vetted and fit within the scope and limitations of the area that is being designed. However, with that said, again, we will work with you to make sure that your ideas show through in the pirate ship and party. Feel free to equip the party with any standard items / weapons from Pillars of Eternity 1. If you have other ideas for gear, feel free to include those as well, but we can't make any guarantees that non-standard items will make it in. If you want to include the special item as well just make sure to specify what item it is when it comes to send in your design to the team. You will have some customization of the ship within reason - it will have to fit within our customization guidelines that we will be releasing at a later date, and we will contact the backer to work with them. What kind of ship will it be? It's going to be a pirate ship. You can work with the design team on the loot gathered and dropped by the pirates." Again, if you guys have additional questions, please feel free to ask away!
  6. Hey everyone, We will be having a Twitch Q&A session with Josh Sawyer and myself tomorrow Feb 1st at 4 PM PST/ 00:00 GMT! We understand you guys have a lot of questions and we will do our best to answer them live! We will be answering questions from Twitter, so make sure you guys use #Deadfire when asking your questions.
  7. I agree on starting a new thread. Just awaiting on the Pirate Order name, so we can go ahead and make the badge for you guys!
  8. Correct, it would be an extreme challenge to pull this off with only having limited facial area. In my honest opinion, I would advise going against it, if you are going to spend all that cash to only have your lower face be somewhat resembled.
  9. Hey Fluffle, So the official word is that you can choose to have a Death Godlike portrait, but by nature, they are faceless beings and there would be a lot of limitations on what you can do if you want the portrait to resemble you in any way. That said, it is really up to you if you want to be a Death Godlike with only showing a small resemblance of your physical self and also being quite a challenge for our artists to ensure that you are happy with the result. But we are willing to work with you to make it work.
  10. Well, I imagine if you had a very distinct nose or chin that would be a good start! I'll shall inquire on death godlikes specifically.
  11. I understand you guys have a ton of questions, so please feel free to ask away and I'll compile the list of questions and get them to Adam. Thanks!
  12. Alright you salty dogs! Listen up! We got words from the chain of command! Option A: Pirate Themed Forum Badge: This is totally doable we we will be making this purchasable through the "Extras" section on Fig. Depending on how many people purchase this Extra, we can add the forum badge manually, or via backer portal. Option B: Community Pirate Ship: I spoke with Adam B. and he said we can totally work with you guys with the pirate ship/crew. However, there are a few restrictions. The maximum party size will probably be around 6 crew members Names, Race, and Class, attire/gear are all customizable (as long as they fit in the Pillars Lore) Pirate ship will also have some customization options you will be able to choose from. We can put in a ledger on the ship that can have log as Osvir has described and names of additional crew members that cannot be an NPC (optional). I forgot to ask about end-game credits. I'll see if we can have a special section for the Obsidian Pirate Crew! I'll leave that to you guys to decide on what to name your Pirate Crew (for ship and/or forum badge). Edit: Please keep in mind that Option A and B are completely independent of each other.
  13. Hey guys! I'll gather information from the team on how much input you guys will have when creating this dastardly crew!
  14. Hey guys! As PrimeJunta has said: This is true, we want to stay as closely as possible to the same requirements as the first game.
  15. Hey guys, Option A: Forum Badge We can totally work with you guys in getting a special Pirate order set up like you guys did in the first game. I know you guys said that you wanted a special pirate themed forum badge instead of a title change, so we might be able to work with you guys on that. However, if you already backed the game, you will get a Fig Backer Badge, similar to the Kickstarter one. I'll have to gather more information on if this can be possible. Option B: Pirate Ship For this, you would have to designate a trustworthy person to hold all the funds and to submit it to Fig. I believe the NeoGaf community setup a PayPal account to accumulate the funds and then use those funds to back the Own an Island Tier. As for "who gets all the goodies?" I will leave that to you guys. You can follow the same model as GAF members did. I'll be watching this thread closely to help you guys out!
  16. Any plans yet for joining GoG's "In Dev" program for the Alpha/Beta? Hey Hemmer, We currently don't have any plans on using GOG's "In Dev" program at this point in time, but that can always change somewhere down the line.
  17. Hey guys! Here to answer all of your backer needs! So, in the Physical Box tier, you will get a physical disc of the game, however, it is actually a Steam installer. There will be no disc version of the game this time around. Though you will be able to choose between a Steam key or a GOG key. So for your DRM-free needs, you can go with GOG. For the Early Access Tier, you can do both. You can gain Early Access key for Steam, and then you can also choose to have a GOG key for the full game. So you can have your cake and eat it too!
  18. Thank you guys! We couldn't have done it without you all! We are truly blessed to have such amazing fans and supporters! Words cannot express how much we appreciate you all.
