  2. If you've spent time exploring Brookhollow Park, you've probably found yourself staring at the pond, wondering what was waiting beneath the surface. With Into the Abyss, it's finally time to take the plunge. Our biggest update yet expands the park with an entirely new underwater experience that transforms how you'll explore, build, and survive. From sprawling new locations and underwater base building to dangerous new creatures, expanded progression, and a new amphibious Buggy, this update isn't just about adding more space—it's about introducing a whole new dimension to Grounded 2. Welcome to The AbyssThe pond has always stood out as one of Brookhollow Park's largest landmarks, but what you've seen so far is only the beginning. Beneath the surface lies one of Grounded 2's largest new areas to date. What first appears to be a familiar pond quickly opens into a sprawling environment with surprising verticality, hidden routes, and new points of interest. Beyond the shoreline, you'll also venture into new surrounding areas, including the Bayou and the Mountains, while those willing to take the plunge can descend into the Abyss itself. Every dive rewards curiosity, but it also demands preparation. The deeper you descend, the more you'll rely on upgraded gear, careful planning, and your understanding of the environment to survive what waits below. Every Dive Starts Before You Enter the WaterSurviving beneath the surface means preparing differently than you have before. The new Diving Suit introduces a progression path built around underwater exploration. Discovering Optical Disks unlocks new Diving Suit recipes, allowing you to craft upgraded equipment for longer expeditions and opening access to even deeper parts of the pond. Rather than treating underwater exploration as a short detour, Into the Abyss makes it an entirely new gameplay loop. Each upgrade opens new opportunities to explore deeper, discover hidden resources, and uncover more of what the pond has to offer. Build a Home Below the SurfacePlayers have built incredible creations throughout Brookhollow Park since Early Access began, and we're excited to see what you'll create next. For the first time, you'll be able to establish fully underwater bases, opening entirely new possibilities for where and how you build. New underwater building pieces, including Bubble Floors that create breathable spaces beneath the surface, let you transform the depths into your next home, staging area, or research outpost. Whether you're building for function, creativity, or simply because you've always wanted an underwater base, this update expands your toolbox in exciting new ways. New Ways to Fight. New Reasons to Prepare.Of course, the pond isn't giving up its secrets without a fight. Into the Abyss introduces new underwater combat encounters with both familiar and brand-new creatures. Returning threats like the Diving Bell Spider now share the water with new predators including the Toe Biter, while CNK robots and Pond Jockeys create new dangers throughout the surrounding areas. Every expedition asks you to rethink your gear, builds, and approach before taking the plunge. If you'd rather have a Toe Biter on your side than standing in your way, they can also be tamed and transformed into your newest Buggy. Its amphibious nature lets you seamlessly travel between land and water, opening new routes through the park while making exploration and combat feel more connected than ever. As always, choosing the right gear, mutations, and build before setting out can make all the difference once things go sideways. More Waiting to Be FoundBeyond the pond itself, Into the Abyss expands Brookhollow Park with new collectibles, additional rewards for exploration, and more reasons than ever to wander off the beaten path. Hidden throughout Brookhollow Park are Critter Capz, collectible bug-themed figurines waiting to be discovered. Tucked away in hidden corners and off-the-beaten-path locations, they're a reward for curious explorers and completionists alike, encouraging you to revisit familiar areas and uncover every new path the update has to offer. Your Next Adventure Starts Below the SurfaceOne of our goals with Grounded 2 has always been to make Brookhollow Park feel like a place worth exploring again and again. Into the Abyss takes that philosophy deeper than ever before. It's not just a new destination; it's a new way to experience the park. Every dive presents new choices, new dangers, and new discoveries waiting just below the surface. Whether you're chasing every collectible, building an underwater stronghold, or simply determined to see what lies at the very bottom of the pond, we can't wait to watch your next adventure unfold. Gear up, gather your friends, and take the plunge. We'll see you in Brookhollow Park. Grounded 2 is available in Game Preview for XBOX Series X|S, XBOX on PC, and ROG XBOX Ally handhelds, and in Early Access on Steam and PlayStation 5. Play with Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, or purchase the game on your platform of choice. Play on both XBOX Series X|S and XBOX on PC at no additional cost with XBOX Play Anywhere. 11. Attention, citizens of Halcyon! The Board is pleased to announce that Patch 2.5.8.1 for The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition is now live. All spacers playing on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 5 consoles should receive the update the next time they visit the colony. Our changes include economy rebalancing, unique item improvements, bug fixes… and a brand-new feature to the game: grenades. Economy RebalancingAddressed macro economic community concerns in early, mid and late game. Players will find more Bits in the beginning, more consistent Bits to be found in boxes, lockers, and lockboxes, and additional items available to spend your Bits on as you go. Equipment dropped by enemies now reflects appropriate wear and condition, presenting wonderful fixer-upper opportunities for the resourceful Engineer - and less buyer’s remorse on that shiny Pristine Assault Rifle you just bought. Reworked Tinkering to increase Bit costs based on weapon and armor level instead of the number of times a weapon or armor has been previously Tinkered. Addressed both economic and usability concerns with Consumables, standardizing costs and extending buffs. Fixed several Consumable pickups that could not be picked up. Unique Item ImprovementsAll Unique weapons, armor and helmets have had a usability and balance pass. Adjustments were made to stats and abilities of many Unique items. All Unique weapons and armor can also now be fully modded by players, except for a permanent “Unique” mod that gives each item its more readable Unique qualities. All Unique weapons that had just standard damage output have had their base damage increased slightly. Tinkering changes allow early-game Unique items to remain viable throughout the full game. New Thrown Grenade FeatureThe highly requested feature of Thrown Grenades have come back in time from The Outer Worlds 2. Enjoy blowing your foes to bits with the trio of the destructive Explosive Grenade, highly-corrosive Bio-Mass Grenade, and the chilling Frost Grenade. As the hot new items on the market, Grenades are still mid-rollout throughout Halcyon! Visit your friendly weapons vendors or nearly any vending machine to purchase these new devices of destruction. Default control schemes have been slightly reconfigured in the style of The Outer Worlds 2 to include a dedicated Grenade Throw input. The Companion Move, Attack and Follow commands are now combined into one context-sensitive input. For Gamepad, the Emergency Medical Inhaler is now on the D-Pad Down input, as in The Outer Worlds 2. Purchased Grenades will appear on the updated Weapon Radial HUD, allowing a quick swap between the Explosive, Bio-Mass, and Frost Grenades. We’ve written new in-game tutorials regarding Grenades and all related changes for additional information, future reference, and/or the occasional chuckle. Bug FixesEnvironments / Levels Added 300 Bits along the tutorial path to the Unreliable (but we’re not saying where). Fixed an issue where the player could get stuck inside the Geothermal Power Plant, causing them to slowly go insane with Chester Higgins. Players can no longer clip into the landing at the top of the elevator to the Circus Time Freighter on Scylla, causing them to fall through the elevator. Walking outside of the safety barrier on Scylla will now properly kill you. Improved ambient lighting and surface reflectivity on rocks and bushes in the Monarch Wilderness. Removed unintended contrail effects from the UDL Gunship during the Radio Free Monarch mission. Removed visible debug strings from most terminals in the RR&DD Labs. The typo of “RR&DD Labs” is still quite visible. Players can no longer pickpocket NPCs through solid glass no matter how high their Sneak skill is. Players can no longer read Datapads through solid glass no matter how high their Reading skill is. Brought in a mortician to fix the makeup on Hortense Ingalsbee’s corpse in Byzantium to better match her appearance in life. When viewing the Model Needler Gun using the Investigation Board on Eridanos, the Model Needler Gun will actually be there. Fixed up a group of textures across the game that spontaneously inverting their color schemes. Removed some floating junk in the Gorgon Overlands. Fixed issues with shadows in Stellar Bay. Combat Critical Hits with the Prismatic Hammer’s Power Attack no longer deals 0 damage for characters with minimal Intelligence. You can no longer be too dumb to wield a hammer. Fixed an issue with the Flamethrower VFX while in TTD The Medical Drone with MacRedd’s outlaws in the Back Bays has taken its Hippocratic Oath, and now heals (the outlaws) instead of harms (you). Defeating the Alpha Canid will now properly cause all other Canids at the party to get bored and leave. ( When loading an autosave created at the start of the Slug Queen boss battle the player no longer gets softlocked. Turret traps can be destroyed with a flamethrower. Menus / UI The so-called “Competent” Skill Unlocks for Inspiration and Determination are now competently assigned to their correct skills, with Inspiration’s giving the Critical Damage boost and Determination’s granting the Armor bonus. The Paranoid flaw no longer stacks an extra debuff on the Lie skill specifically, and the Extra Paranoid status effect will stop being so “extra” in adding a new stack of its debuff every time you just highlight the Lie skill. Added an entry for the “Resolve” buff in the Buffs page in the Codex. Highlighting a status effect on a Companion’s details screen no longer makes the Journal forget how to highlight everything else. We’ve fixed an issue where the performance drops significantly while scrolling through mods, which would sometimes lead to a crash. The "Resolve" Skill buff is now fully visible when viewing the Status Effects section of the Character Details section in the Ledger. Fixed Adaptive Trigger functions on PS5 triggering outside of gameplay. Consumables show their stacked duration appropriately in the Character tab. Quests The Following Section May Contain Spoilers: Grace Romero no longer conveniently “forgets” about the missing Zoe in A Few Kindred Spirits, even if you talk to her about Adelaide first or convince all the Deserters to go back to Edgewater. Choosing to attack the Hacked Mechanical in the Lord of Blight Quest on Eridanos no longer sometimes enrages the entire spaceport. The ‘Shipping Note' that the player is told will be on Ella Tinsley’s desk in Sublight Freight Storage will now be on Ella Tinsley’s desk in Sublight Freight Storage. 16. Today we have news to share about an update coming to The Outer Worlds as well as changes being made to the store pages. Starting today we will be pushing a couple of updates to The Outer Worlds through the Spacer’s Choice Edition. Today’s update is to test our release pipeline and fix a few issues that are in the game. The second patch will be larger bringing performance fixes, lighting changes, a host of other quest and gameplay fixes, and bringing in a brand-new feature to the original game: grenades! Along with the second patch, we have big store changes planned. Starting May 27th, the base game edition of The Outer Worlds will be delisted and the Spacer’s Choice Edition will be the single version of the game going forward. For those who already have the original version of the game in your libraries, it won’t be going anywhere. After May 27th, however, the only version of The Outer Worlds that will be available on most store pages will be the Spacer’s Choice Edition. The only platforms not affected by this are Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. But wait, there’s more! If you have at least the base edition of The Outer Worlds in your library before May 27th, you will be receiving the Spacer’s Choice Edition free. That’s right, free! This is for all platforms that the Spacer’s Choice Edition is on (Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG). After May 27th, The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition will be available for $39.99. A few other store changes are coming to those who have Xbox Ones and PlayStation 4s. After May 27th to upgrade to the Spacer’s Choice Edition from the base game on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, you will need to own the base game and both DLCs for The Outer Worlds. That said, we are removing the paid upgrade path and as long as you have everything, the Spacer’s Choice Edition will be yours. The base game and DLCs are also getting pricing adjustments to $24.99 and $14.99 respectively on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. For the full patch notes on today’s update please head to our forums and stay tuned for the larger patch coming at the end of May!

  25. Greetings Watchers! We've updated the Public Beta branch for the Pillars of Eternity Turn-based Mode! It is now live on all available platforms. Thank you for your continued support and feedback! Combat and Mechanics Delaying a turn or ending turn without taking an action will now properly progress chanter phrases. (Based on elapsed Initiative) Chanter phrases should now progress correctly when the user has a very high or very low recovery time. Chanter phrase progression will now account for time from the start of combat until their first turn. Chanter's Ancient Memory will no longer cause a brief delay before every turn. Existing chanter summons are now immediately despawned in TBM when new ones are summoned. Fixed an issue that would cause the bonus from the Holy Power spell to sometimes stack and not be removed. Nature's Bounty will no longer make the caster unresponsive in TBM - It has also now been made a free action. Barbarian's Blood Thirst ability should now work correctly in TBM. Delayed Fireball should now properly respect turn time. Ticking effects should now properly applies their final tick upon their expiration. Spells with longer delays before jumping between targets will now respect turn time before jumping in TBM. Fixed an issue with very short duration damage/healing over time effects that were applying much higher than intended values. Very short prone durations (such as those applied by tentacle attacks) should now resolve properly in TBM. Characters performing disengagement attacks in TBM are not permitted to re-engage the victim in the same turn. Fixed an issue that could sometimes cause self-targeted buffs (often free actions) to fail to function properly after being reapplied. Fixed an issue where Push and pull abilities when used on prone/unconscious targets would cause significant issues with visuals and performance. Push and pull mechanics on certain characters in Durgan's Battery will no longer cause AI to not be able to end their turn properly. Fixed a collision issue when defeating certain enemy types with push/pull abilities causing movement commands to be blocked. Stacked Stun/Paralyze/Petrify etc... effects should no longer cause characters to be disabled for longer than intended. Fixed an issue that would cause characters to sometimes run in place in front of their target instead of performing their action. Fixed an issue that would cause characters of differing sizes (large vs. small and vice-versa) to move to incorrect locations when attempting to move into attack position. Fixed an issue where the Charge ability would sometimes cause the user to become stuck. Prevented a case where characters could become stuck if they attempted to perform an action while one was already in progress in TBM. Activating a free action or consumable while a cast action is in progress will no longer immediately resolve the cast action. Loading a game with a currently active cast action should no longer lock the client. Loading a game should no longer sometimes cause teleportation abilities to not function in TBM. Combat should no longer end pre-maturely when the final enemy in combat reloads a weapon. The Helwax mold should now once again be usable. User Interface and Interaction The Enter key is now correctly defaulted to "Pass Turn" in TBM. Colorblind mode now applies to the turn based mode UI. Abilities now display "Not your turn" when highlighted outside of the active character turn. Several unique item effects and abilities now display their effects in turns instead of seconds when playing TBM. Consumables now properly list as free actions in their tooltips. Turn-Order UI should no longer allow resizing outside of the screen bounds on low resolutions. Action Type and Initiative categories are now visible on consumables. Action Type and Initiative categories are now visible on abilities in character creation and level up screens. Initiative in the character and inventory screens now displays decimal value (tenths). Available Action and Available Movement tooltips should now appear correctly. Prevented a case where developer commentary and turn based UI could overlap each other and become uninteractive. Localization Korean localization should now be available and updated in all versions of the game.
