  1. So, this subclass generates Wounds by doing melee damage. Does that also apply to damage done when performing Flagellant's Path? Does the same apply for any other movement abilities, for example such as Leap from Bounding Boots? Last but not least, does the Wound bonus from Tuotilo's Palm work the same way on a Shattered Pillar as any other Monk subclass?
  2. I disagree, this does need a patch ASAP... ...to have the Watcher and all the other Companions and Sidekicks be naked too, at least in the Luminous Bathhouse if nowhere else. When in Neketaka, do as the Kahanga do, I say.
  3. So basically, Eder knows better than to stick his **** in crazy.
  4. And here I was, thinking this could be Deadfire's answer to Bittercut. What a bummer to find out about this. Maybe this topic should be copypasted into the bug forum?
  5. Ok guys, I think I need a bit of help here. I don't know whether a portrait like what I'm looking for has been posted on this or the previous threads already, but that has not been the case as far as I could tell. So, does anyone have a portrait which resembles Salim Ghadafar in looks and attire, but clean-shaven (scruffy-looking is fine, just not full beards or moustaches)? If so, can I get the full Deafire portrait treatment for it? Thanks.
  6. So I searched this thread, and I'm not sure why what I had in mind hasn't been mentioned already. Maybe because it's too simple and basic to be worth mentioning? Anyway, the hat you get at the very beginning of the game, the Defiant Apparel. It gives Resistance to Perception Afflictions, ekera? Now, put that on a character who uses Blunderbusses. It eliminates the Distracted effect from Powder Burns with each and every shot, meaning there's now no reason for your character not to use the modal. Good for non-Streetfighter builds, I say.
  7. I'm currently running a Trickster/Skald. This Watcher has fairly good Deflection with Mirrored Images and the Dagger modal, his reduced crit damage isn't much of an issue since the point of crit-farming is for the Skald phrases anyway, and if you build him right, he can have access to all six types of Afflictions from both the Guile and Phrases resource pools. This gives him the tools to avoid the Affliction Immunities and exploit the Weaknesses of any enemy he comes across; he basically makes his party's lives easier by making the enemy forces' a lot harder. Now all I got to do is to actually finish my first playthrough with this Trickster/Skald Watcher, then I'm clear to post a Class Build here.
  8. Guys, great work here with the wiki so far. But... it would be great if all of the available upgrades are listed in the entries for each unique item as well? After all, these upgrades have different additional effects and are mutually exclusive, and this information could be useful for future theorycrafting of builds.
  9. With regards to Eder not being romanceable, a few pieces of the puzzle dropped into place for me when he first mentioned Elafa's personality. Specifically, she's pretty loud when being friendly, she's short and ill-tempered, the sort to push a pistol up the nostrils of any uninvited guests. So, an unladylike, uncouth ass-kicker of the roughest sort. Now if we think about it, in all our travels so far, which women's company did Eder particularly enjoy above and beyond the usual courteous demeanour he treats his fellow Companions with? As a matter of fact, there's only one; Iselmyr. Who also fits the aforementioned description. Tl;dr Eder isn't interested in romance with Xoti or the Watcher, because he has a type.
  10. So after installing the beta patch, Vela did show up on the beach. But after I've completed the relevant quest at Port Maje and took the Defiant out to sea for the first time, she's disappeared again. Can't see her as a crew member, she's not there when I'm walking around inside the ship, nothing.
  11. I got the beta patch, finally decided to really start playing. While Eder correctly mentioned his stint as Mayor of Dyrford this time around, he's still got the Night Market medallion equipped on him. Which... well, not that big a deal. And with the +1 Religion bonus... so sweet of you to bring Xoti a souvenir, Eder my boy, I'm sure she'll appreciate it! But, you know. Just in case you guys want to fix this one.
  12. Here's two for now: Thanks! The image has been removed - trying linking it again. The other two: Excellent stuff! Thank you so much!
  13. I have a particular theorycraft in mind for this, actually; Nature Godlike Transmuter/Lifegiver. Both subclasses come with PL bonuses to their respective schools of magic, and combined with the Nature Godlike racial, this is pretty much a PL cheese character. Why Transmuter? Because it lets this Sorcerer do almost anything. She can do CC (Transmutation), she can heal like a boss (Rejuvenation), and she can do both at boosted levels because of the PL cheese. She can also do melee with two choices of shapeshifting; whatever Spiritshift she chooses, plus Form of the Fearless Brute (which I understand is rather gimped atm, but pretty sure it'll see buffs in time). She can even nuke with a specific combo; take Spirit of Decay, start with Pull of Eora, then Purge of Toxins (to protect your own party morons from what's next), and then blast the lot with Noxious Burst. About the only thing this Sorcerer cannot do are creature summons, and Chanters are generally better for that anyway. Hope you like it.
  14. Is it possible to at least make Eder controllable for the pirate fight? This happened to me as well, and I also noticed that if Eder dies as an NPC, Second Chance does not proc for him. Which just doesn't feel right considering the Saint's War Armor he should have equipped. This wouldn't be so much of a problem if Eder joins the party just before the pirate fight.
  15. Same deal with Eder and Vela here; I haven't even bothered finishing the Sea Cave, let alone leave the first map at Vilario's rest. Only going to be picking this back up when the hotfix gets loaded.
  16. Yeah, this happened to me too on my first exploratory delve into the intro. Eder died in the pirate fight, and never shows up on the beach. Which, yes, is kind of awesome in terms of consequences, but is also kind of bull****. You can't control Eder during the pirate fight, and things like Second Chance from his Saint's War Armor also doesn't proc while he's still an NPC, which means you basically have to babysit him throughout that fight. At least it was not like I had the time to play much beyond the beach anyway; a blessing in disguise, since restarting isn't going to be as painful as it could have been.
  17. So I know this one is kind of a last minute thing, apologies for leaving it so late. But I only just found this image, and I'd really like to use it for my first Watcher. Anyone free to do a watercolour of this?
  18. Multiclass it with Skald. The damage penalty doesn't matter so much when it's the crits themselves that you're farming for the Skald's Invocations, making him more of a melee CC than DPS.
  19. My first Watcher is going to be a Trickster/Skald, so that's another option if you want someone with a more roguish bent to him. This guy does less Sneak Attack damage than the other Rogue variants, but that's less of an issue when you just need to farm crits for the Skald, and not pure damage per se. Probably isn't as optimized a crit-machine as Boeroer's Fighter multiclass, but he also comes with Illusion spells for added survivability and shenanigans. As for rapiers and DW, I'd suggest a Dagger in the off-hand; its modal gives bonus Deflection for more survivability, making it an alternative for shields while retaining the DW speed bonus. Plus, rapier and dagger is basically the classic duelist set.
  20. The other portrait wasn't a good watercolor material. Damn, it really did turn out really nice. Pity about the other portrait though, but what to do. Much thanks Aramintai!
  21. Because I posted the question here first, before I remembered there was a better thread for it at the other section. My bad.
