  1. I'm just stating facts in this oxymoron world
  2. You guys propably missed that joke. Anyway, here's the link to the "joke". That's most stupidest and hilarious thing I've ever encountered in Kotor modding
  3. That guy is nearly as big moron as OPG
  4. I disagree about Max Payne, but Mafia definetly should've been there. Preferably in top ten. Too bad my Mafia stopped working after park hall mission. Mafia should have been there. I'm still stuck in the prison, but even I can see it's a great game. Yeah, only flaw I met in this game were stupid car race mission. That's all I had to whine about game up to the point I got. And from what I've heard game definetly won't get worse after that mission. Slaughter at church kicks so much ass

  8. GL himself has said Anakin was chosen one. End of debate
  9. Eh, no. Actually, yes. Mkreku hit it on the nail: obvious exceptions aside - such as Spirit Thief and Jade Golem - I haven't found much that separates most styles. Martial styles are pretty much all the same among themselves, and so are weapon, support and transformation styles. Also, dumping points into speed and damage makes increasing their duration unnecessary since they're quickly effective. Even if Chi is depleted, you can't bump into a corner without finding some Spirit font. Funny you should bring that up, considering 'reku is known for not suggesting that combat model. Unless you're the usual IGN forumite that gorges on repeating the kiddie mantra that turn-based is outdated and goes on to every forum repeating it to score with his CS clannie trash friends, there wasn't any point in even bringing it up. I don't know, lightsabers that work like yon standard D&D swords rank pretty high in teh stoopid too. And who's to say RPGs can't have a deep role-playing system coupled with a deep combat system as featured in Ninja Gaiden Black, Devil May Cry 3 or God of War? "Because it's an RPG" doesn't mean anything other than it needs to have recognizable role-playing elements indigineous to the genre, and action combat has seeped into the genre for a long time for console platforms at least, where action combat models like that of Jade Empire don't rank to well in the face of the examples I gave. Aside the D20 rules, nothing really prevented Knights of the Old Republic from having Jedi Outcast or Jedi Academy-styled combat, which would certainly be more fitting to the setting and gameplay of titles who use the license. Wow, that was fierce post. None of the styles are same. They deal different amount and type of damage with differing speeds. Jade Golem should've been cut, it made end game way too easy. It crushes everything. I've never even visited IGN's forum. And of course I know mkekru didn't bring turn based combat up. Really, from style of your post it looks like you thought I did some kind of personal attack, geez. I only brought turn based combat up as an example. There's nothing more in it. Which is really D20's fault, not Kotor's. Besides, it just proves that Kotor is RPG, not action game. Heck, you can't even jump or slice doors open with your lightsaber. Actually you can't do that in Jedi Knights either... And turn based kungfu is much worse than any "silliness" due engine/game design limitations. Kotor's combat works. Turn based combat wouldn't. There's no worse idea than dropping Kotor's battle system behind and replace it with JA's one! Dear God, that would suck. Kotors and ROTS games have best lightsaber combat in games. "Yon standard" lightsabers are ten times better than ridiculous jump jump jump combat of Jedi Knight series. JE's combat system is very, very far away from best crpg ones I've played, but it's still (IMO) good. It really catches spirit of wuxia. And is there other games with melee combat like JE except from remotely similar Bloodlines melee combat? JE's combat system is hundred times better than Bloodlines melee combat. There isn't any other crpg's to compare against. And really, I'm not saying JE's combat doesn't need improvements. It should be more complex, but can you really compare JE to Ninja Gaiden, GoW or Devil May Cry? They're from different genres. JE still is crpg, not action game with roleplaying elements. Some might like it more that way, I would not. Improving JE's combat wouldn't be hard. We already have harmonic combos, it would not be too hard to create some kind of "combo system". Sand's "analog stick rotation" is another easy thing to implement that would enhance combat. Few ways to do normal attack and different ways to block them? These aren't hard or too complex to be implemented by devs for sequel. It doesn't need to get into level of Ninja Gaiden and other that kind of action games, just little improvements. And combat system got only minority of my notice when playing (minus for Jade Golem which should've got axe or serious dumping down. It ruined some mood in the end game  ). Combat, talking, wandering... It all was just something I had to do to see how plot unfolds and what wonders this strange setting has to offer. Above all we need more this kind of original milieus for crpg's. And for those who say combat is too easy: Just test Jade Master difficulty.
  10. Force Unleashed got pushed back to 2008
  11. I would like to know if we're going to get any performance boosts with 1.06. I certainly hope so. My case is little bit...weird. With most people patch 1.03 enhanced performance greatly. With me it got worse. With 1.02 my game run smoothly, but after 1.03 I've met entity called as "lag" in NWN2. I've finished the game, but the reason why I just can't bring myself to replay it is bad performance 1.03 caused. Is there way to fix this? My rig: Athlon Venice 3500+ 2 gig of ram GeForce 7600 GT
  12. That pig could eat that halfling
  13. who gives crap? K3 site will just be another subsection of Lucasarts page
  14. Eek, don't strip JE's small amount of RPGness it still has! Main reason why it's so simple is because there is too few variables. Body, mind and spirit sounds and feels wuxia enough, but it still should've been more complex. 3 variables is way too few. Even one more would've helped, preferably more. And I don't mind the fact its very light in rules. However JE's is still above my border for acceptable "ligthness". I like your idea. They are not too hard to implement and not too complex for action crpg. I hope JE2 will have something like that. Few add-ons like that would really enhance action. Overall (yeah yeah, I'm repeating myself) I think that action is good, even with its clear flaws. I disagree that game would've been any better without RPG elements. Romances are silly. I greatly prefer K2 style over ego stroking, silly Bioware way does them.
  15. Eh, no. JE's combat has its flaws but overall its quite awesome. All I need is more variety. And Jade Golem is ridiculously overpowered. Well, I don't whine because it saved me in Imperial Engagement. I really want to know what would be better way make combat for this. Turn based? There isn't more ridiculous thought than turn based Kung Fu. Kotor styled real/turn based hybrid based on stats? Meh, this is kung fu game and action RPG. I want to throw punches and kicks by myself in this kind of games. There really isn't another option. And it must not become too hard/complex, because this is RPG, not e.g. Ninja Gaiden. Attack-Power Attack-Block is simple but it works like clockwork. I think this needs more variety (e.g maybe two kind of blocks and normal attacks?) but not very much. Besides, combat is very fun and it's all that matters. I've never been player who gets kicks from ultra hard battles and solving them, all I want is that combat is fun and challenging enough. Apart from JE I'm eagerly awaiting C&C3
  16. Hardly. It was UNPLAYABLE on my computer (which was close to recommended specs) upon release. It was BUGGY AS HELL. And finally, it didn't make me skip school, work, food, water, and other basic needs for days and nights - which Civ II did in its time. I got bored with Civ IV after two weeks and haven't played it since. Buggy? It wasn't terribly buggy IMHO although I never played unpatched game. And maybe you're just older and more "experienced" player. Longer you play games more harder it is to get hooked (in that scope) again. Sad really. From objective point of view Civ 4 is best. It has more improvements you can count, its UI is extremely good and yet it sustains its...well, "civ" feeling. I could as well quote their synopsis since I totally agree with it. Of course, there isn't such thing as bad civilization Other lists were even more... disappointing
  17. Civilization IV is best of the series. Fallout was 5th, woohoo! But RTW...? No Doom? Only one adventure game and it didn't even make it to the top ten? TIE Fighter is totally awesome and must be in top ten. XCOM best PC Game evar? Well, I've only heard good things about it but... oh well, I haven't played the game so who I am to judge. And no Command & Conquer! Meh, quite disappointing list. Did you just rank BG1 higher than BG2?

Hahaha! Our swedish friend was BUSTED!
  19. WHAT?! How is that possible? Was my version flawed or something? I didn't touch the difficulty settings, so I assume they were on normal, but I definitely breezed through everything the game threw at me using the same tactics over and over: Jump around. If the enemy flashes blue, quick attack. If they have shield up, slow attack. Jump around some more. End of fight. That goes for the entire game as well. Until I finally got Jade Golem form Imperian Engagement before challenging Ravager for Champion title was unbeatable for me. I tried it numerous times past these last four days. Few hours ago I finally won it! Ha! No small thanks to Jade Golem, it really solved my problem with Elephant and Frog Demon, especially frog demon. Even though frog was third of many opponents to enter the ring and by itself it is easy opponent, in long run it was destructible little beast. It attacks so damn fast, takes damage like terminator and slings that stupid tongue like there's no tomorrow. And since support styles are no use against them which usually have major part in my tactics (especially Heavenly Wave and oh so lovely Paralysing Palm). So, I can easily bring it down with Chi enhanced strikes with my pimped out thousand cuts using focus, but the problem is that it really drains my chi and focus which are quite important later in Engagement. Jade Golem solved this problem. Just swing axes few times and voila! Both focus and chi saved for next targets. Still far from easy, but beatable. Further I get in this game more I love it. Bioware has crafted magnificent story and Game runs perfectly and I have encountered very few bugs so far
  20. HL2? Check. Good, it should be there. BG2? Check. It too should be there. Simcity 2000? WTF? Starcraft? Check, it (too) should be there Age of Kings 2?
  21. 1 - 43 ( I love that kitten) 2 - 42 (yup, I want it back. Too bad I couldn't find any "doublesmilies" with quick search. Strange because I used it a lot  ) 3 - 40 (although it was overused it's still great. Deserves its comeback ) 4 - 9 (although isn't this here already? ) 5 - 6 6 - 31 (my MSN "blahbla"! ^_^ ) 7 - 38 8 - 41 9 - 45 (mods need their fun too) 10 - 48 Don't care about rest
  22. + StarCraft and a Civ Agreed. I bet Civ 4 is there, propably some others too. Indeed, where are adventure games? Sam & Max!? Monkey Islands!?
  23. Of course they aren't happy. These aren't Barbies and Kens But I agree that elves should've more beatiful faces. However, elves need too few of these "normal faces". And if you didn't know all the characters/monsters etc. were very true for original 3.5 edition artwork so OE isn't sole reason. Oblivion still has worst models ever
