  1. A little over a week left before my big trip of the year. Tons of little last minute nuisances at work and also trying to finish up the summer term at school. Got a headsup call from my school that my 1 on campus class was only 8 weeks so I wouldn't get the full stipend until that class starts sometime in October. So now I need to either move some classes around or pick up a sixth class which I think would be too much with all the hours I've been putting in the last year or two. We need to finally fill the open spot on our team to reduce the workload. I like working from home but maybe it's time to find another job

  3. I didn't get past the first episode of Bebop but I did like Champloo Maybe I'll give it another go when I get some time
  4. Tacos.Grilled up some carne asada and made some pico with extra cilantro and guac.
  5. Poker? I hardly know her!
  6. ^I think that's what I read/heard as well
  7. I believe his companies have filed for bankruptcy four separate times though he has never personally filed He did go from hundred millionaire to billionaire, as Hurl said, and while that's not nothing it's not really that impressive either. Or maybe it is*, I dunno ...but it's not as impressive as starting with nothing or very little or just not hundreds of millions *I give him credit for having some drive and ambition and not just resting on his father's laurels.

  9. I got a kick out of this Is Donald Trump a Fascist?
  10. My wife loves wine but only really only Cabernet Sauvignon so we have to plan our meals around that. I feel like I've said this before, hmm. As for me, I killed another bottle of tawny port, Graham's 10 year I think it was
  11. Even though we don't check many of those boxes you're more than welcome to come out to Denver I spoke with the mayor and he said it's ok
  12. I was thinking about my time in the military and how it was like a mix between the IT Crowd and MASH and now I really wish there was a show that was a mix between the IT Crowd and MASH
  13. Ant Man - Good
  14. 1337 game for 1337 post
  15. I always tip when I travel abroad but usually not as much as I tip here. If it's culturally ignorant then I guess I apologize for giving them more money for appreciating their service but I figure they can either not accept it or take consolation in it. Then again most of my travel has not been to Europe. Story time - When I was a wee lad and went to stay with my dad on the occasional weekend I would overhear him complain or get excited about the tips he received while working his day/cover job as a waiter and barkeep. This has obvious influenced my tipping behavior over the years and I was shocked to find out that my father was a lousy tipper himself when he came up to visit me a couple years ago. When we left the table I secretly stashed some more bills under the receipt.
  16. I picked up Queen of Fire by Anthony Ryan before I saw the poor reviews it has. I still plan on reading it but I'm a little less enthused about it now. Also grabbed Price of Valor from Django Wexler. While I've enjoyed the Raven's Shadow series more up to this point I think I might dive into this book first.
  17. I recall Batman going supervillain on Superman in some comics by threatening innocents/loved ones. Even though I think it turned out that he wasn't going to go through with it I think that's still pretty messed up. It's been a while though so I could be misremembering or just making stuff up. Still looking forward to the movie
  18. Unless Batman's suit is made out of kryptonite I don't see how this is even a thing. Superman is Zohan "I feel no pain" mode while Batman is in "all I feel is pain" mode
  19. I wonder. Do Brits want their 13 colonies back? I am not sure it was legal to break off by some crazy people back in the time. Hating tea is not good enough reason one would think...I love tea but I refuse to start misspelling words by adding unnecessary vowels or trade my guns for knives.
  20. The last one was habanero infused vodka but the others just had sliced and mashed peppers thrown in to mostly plain margaritas. One of my favorites is a pineapple jalapeño margarita which is perfectly sweet and spicy and I think they use a homemade jalapeño syrup for that one.
  21. Sorry for quoting myself but ... I must have had 15 frulis and at least 3 margaritas of increasing spiciness (jalapeno, serrano, haberno)
  22. Watching the soccer No idea what's going on* but according to the numbers on the screen we're winning. *I played youth soccer but never bothered to learn the rules beyond no hands
