Wait, how exactly does a Zimbabwean lion fall under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service? Smells of a government agency overreaching in order to jump onto a high-publicity case. "Palmer’s actions could have violated the U.S. Lacey Act, a conservation law meant to shield animals from harm. The act, tied to a United Nations treaty for the protection of animals, governs the actions of Americans who violate the laws of foreign governments."

But people do tend to care more about the animals than other people. I remember reading several articles on this and will see if I can dig up links if anyone cares. I believe the order of precedence of ****s given is as follows 1. Human babies 2. Animal babies 3. Adult animals 4. Adult humans 5. Gwyneth Paltrow Also, I personally have no issues with hunting for food either but trophy hunting isn't something I can get behind Yes please try to find them, I have pondered this question and believe that the reason it appears that people care more about animals is that animals are defenseless and are part of the ecosystem and in the case of rhinos there really are a finite number of them. Also we care about rhinos and we care about impoverished people so I see no conflict But I'm interested what is your objection to trophy hunting? I'm wary of anyone who wants to kill something for sport. Food, yes. Population control, yes. Trophies, you lost me. Anyway, links

What you did today
It's been bugging me for a while so I kept looking and found this about math vs maths Not sure how credible it is but it's on the internet so you know. They also had an interesting video on the difference between how people say numbers in the US vs UK Haven't found anything as in depth about sport and sports though

What you did today
Why do Brits say sport instead of sports and maths instead of math? Is it just us being unique? I never really paid that much attention to it before but I've been hanging around more expats and it sounds odd to my ear and really stands out Other than that just school and work and work and school

What you having for dinner tonight?
I roasted a smallish (skinless and boneless, oh no) pork shoulder (pernil) a couple days ago for about 5 or 6 hours. Pretty simple with some sofrito, recaito, roasted garlic cloves I had laying around, and homemade seasoned salt just cover, bake, wait. Ate a lot of it right out of the pan and made some tacos and enchiladas (I know it's more traditionally a caribbean dish but I'm a southwestern boy) with the rest of it

I've been growing my hair out because for some reason my wife doesn't like the traditional buzz cut of my people. I hate the feeling of my hair touching my ears and it's making me go something something...

Was having a discussion about all the MCU movies and how I'd rank them. I had a hard time putting them all in order so I just broke them down into groups Best: Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man, Avengers Good: Captain America, Captain America 2, Avengers 2, Thor Okay, I guess: Thor 2, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3- Music. Must. Go on!

I don't think it's that bad in this case but I do also recognize that "class" definitions vary (sometimes quite a bit) by state I don't think any states in the top or bottom 10 are any of the 10 most populous EDIT2- It also occurs to me that it is also after taxes and some of those countries get free healthcare and higher education- What you did today

A little over a week left before my big trip of the year. Tons of little last minute nuisances at work and also trying to finish up the summer term at school. Got a headsup call from my school that my 1 on campus class was only 8 weeks so I wouldn't get the full stipend until that class starts sometime in October. So now I need to either move some classes around or pick up a sixth class which I think would be too much with all the hours I've been putting in the last year or two. We need to finally fill the open spot on our team to reduce the workload. I like working from home but maybe it's time to find another job- Road to the White House 2016
