  1. Not Rex Tillerson. I'm really surprised he isn't on his way out after that
  2. GabeN's predatory gaming service of fun, friendship, and speculative work for hopefully some pay

  4. That idea is plain dangerous, and I'm only half-joking. Contemplating that fact it's easy to slowly slide into a sense of powerlessness -- which may or may not be the lesson of the vid. It's also important to remember that: That's why I had a second half of that about not using it as an excuse to give up. Or feel guilty. I'm decently well off now and I was born into poverty. It's not impossible but most people I deal with around my job or where I live don't share my origin story.
  5. It's more that when people succeed we have a tendency to think we've done it all on our own and on the strength of our merits when in reality the best advantages we can get in life have nothing to do with us personally. And no, I'm not suggesting anyone born better off should feel guilty or that someone born with tons of disadvantages should have an excuse to give up but you probably don't have to look very far to find someone looking down their nose at someone else because that person struggles where they didn't. I can give you a recent example I saw when I get back to my desk
  6. I'll play the tenth dentist and disagree with everyone because I like all kinds. Big or small as long it's well done (who likes bad DLC?) I'll open my wallet. Like I mentioned in those other threads about the same thing, I don't play many games new games each year so I'd prefer to get as much as I can out of the few games that I do like.
  7. With super daily CXP over so is my latest fling with SWTOR. I'll check back next month just to get Darth Hexid then I'll probably take another several months long break.

  16. Took the plunge and got the CBS streaming thing and now that I've seen up to episode 4 I gotta say that I'm not really feeling it My wife took even further and said that it feels like they don't get the point of Star Trek and I'm somewhat inclined to agree

  18. I've got Bejeweled 3 and other casual type games in the free game thread. I know my aunts love those and before he passed my grandfather liked them too.
  19. I maybe should have started Dak over Rodgers
  20. We did that. Had a little ditty for most everything in boot camp. It really did help and keep us in synch. Didn't have much of a place for it afterwards though. I also asked a couple of Navy buddies about sea shanties and they said not really. I don't really know anyone who sails recreationally.
  21. He only had 2 kids According to Wikipedia June is his daughter's middle name
