I don't like that it's on a streaming service but they are releasing episodes like a regular show. Netflix has my brain wired to thinking streaming means bingeable. I finally watched the first episode and I liked it even though I agree with pretty much all of the criticisms leveled against it.

I agree that people have the right to be offended even if they are usually the group complaining about people being offended but I also agree that it's strange that the consequences fall on the family who wasn't even involved. I guess I'm just agreeable

Sort of did my first raid yesterday because the random guild I'm in needed DPS and I answered the call. I guess the goal was to beat the Twins or whatever they are called but we spent like an hour trying to get an 8th member for the raid so I had to bail shortly after beating Tyth because my wife came home. We ended up doing it with only 7 because that 8th member never materialized. I'm sure undermanning a veteran raid is no big accomplishment but I'm still proud of it.

What luxuries can't you live without? I'd probably say travel, both domestic and international, because I don't think anything has changed me as much seeing other places and how other people live. Second, would be the internet.

I grew up in Michigan, no it's not a Bible belt thing. Things were just different in the 90's, back then God was a huge respect in schools in general but I'm talking general public schools in the 90's, I'm sure 80's and 70's were just as respectful and fearing of the name of "God" if not more. It probably didn't really start changing until right after my time, since then the country has been devolving. I mean, as I said before, we're having one sided decisions made for the sake of comfort but stripping freedom as it were. I'm confused to why students can't be free to take a Bible into school or wear a cross necklace if someone else can wear a pentagram, etc. I'm pretty sure I'm older than you and this is just weird to me but on the flip side it let's me get a better understanding of where you are coming from. I dunno, I mean my very small town had like 5 7 churches but outside of the pledge and various optional (and I think outside of regular school hours) bible/prayer groups religion was absent from school... I guess unless you happened to go to one of the religious private schools but those were in "town." Edit- I think we may have stopped doing the pledge in middle school or junior high as it was called when I attended but I'm almost certain we didn't do it high school either.

Where are you from? Is that just a Texas thing? Or a bible belt thing? Makes my rural country upbringing seem ultra progressive

I'd have to agree, if America continues with the excuses of "freedom" for everything then we're doomed. I mean, we almost have wars on the street, it's just a matter of time. With kkk, etc making public apparences America is no different from Iraq really. That's some hyperbole You sounded like Bruce there for a second with the too much freedom bit. Hiding it won't make it go away as evidenced by all the racism is gone now that we have a black president talking heads from the past 8 years then all these hate groups popping their heads back out immediately after. Also, to my mind the fact that the worst of us can assemble in the streets and (can potentially) have a dialogue as shown by that video Hurlshot shared is a good thing, not to mention a constitutionally protected right.

I can only speak for myself and at first I just didn't care about this at all and even when people couldn't ignore it and started getting upset I still didn't care. It's wasn't until the all the cries about how it was disrespectful to x/y/z groups that I started to care because I don't like people saying you have to fall in line with what they say to be patriotic and even more than that I just really don't like people getting offended on my behalf. I can get myself worked up over nothing all by myself, thank you very much. Plus, I can't deny that there is some measure of satisfaction in getting those people worked up even more than they already are. Edit - It's not like vets are united on this issue either
