  1. I remember, I think it was the Gault part of the Bounty Hunter story that was the final nail in the SWTOR coffin for you. I don't blame you, I didn't like the BH story very much either. But yeah, MMOs are a different beast and even though SWTOR was trying to be KOTOR 3-whatever the MMOness of it was hard to overcome.
  2. You're relying on some of assumptions that I don't necessarily agree with Which is why I have "(who likes bad DLC)" there because I feel it's a little silly to argue on that level. So how about this, everything else being equal do I want (mmm) beefy DLC, small DLC, or a mix.... I'd still say a mix

  4. Andromeda is now available on EA and Origin access. Though if you have either of them then I'm guessing you've likely already bought it. For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, Andromeda is now available on EA's subscription service which runs about 5 bucks a month or 30 bucks if you go in for a year, if I'm remembering the prices correctly. In summation, you can basically rent Andromeda and a slew of other EA games for a month for a fiver.
  5. A game about AI making paperclips is the most addictive you’ll play today
  6. You are correct, sir. It does not but this offer does come with I think a 15 day premium status though I couldn't tell you what that gives off the top of my head. I liked ESO well enough but I preferred SWTOR and LOTRO over it
  7. To be honest, most of it sounds like pure shovelware. It's kinda crazy... and sad. Technically, "so many people bought game x", but in truth it just has been in a package with something else and nobody really looked at it at all. I agree with most of that, however, I can personally endorse a few of these games like GalCiv3, NBA2k, ESO, maybe a few others like Might and Magic. Unfortunately, my tastes are pretty narrow so I can really only speak to RPGs, sports, and strategy.
  8. Not Rex Tillerson. I'm really surprised he isn't on his way out after that
  9. GabeN's predatory gaming service of fun, friendship, and speculative work for hopefully some pay

  11. That idea is plain dangerous, and I'm only half-joking. Contemplating that fact it's easy to slowly slide into a sense of powerlessness -- which may or may not be the lesson of the vid. It's also important to remember that: That's why I had a second half of that about not using it as an excuse to give up. Or feel guilty. I'm decently well off now and I was born into poverty. It's not impossible but most people I deal with around my job or where I live don't share my origin story.
  12. It's more that when people succeed we have a tendency to think we've done it all on our own and on the strength of our merits when in reality the best advantages we can get in life have nothing to do with us personally. And no, I'm not suggesting anyone born better off should feel guilty or that someone born with tons of disadvantages should have an excuse to give up but you probably don't have to look very far to find someone looking down their nose at someone else because that person struggles where they didn't. I can give you a recent example I saw when I get back to my desk
  13. I'll play the tenth dentist and disagree with everyone because I like all kinds. Big or small as long it's well done (who likes bad DLC?) I'll open my wallet. Like I mentioned in those other threads about the same thing, I don't play many games new games each year so I'd prefer to get as much as I can out of the few games that I do like.
  14. With super daily CXP over so is my latest fling with SWTOR. I'll check back next month just to get Darth Hexid then I'll probably take another several months long break.
