  1. 2020 an election year for him or something?
  2. What did Rand Paul do now?
  3. In my experience I find that the younger generations are more open with their feelings and struggles so I wonder how much of it is just people no longer thinking it's a weakness or shameful to express their doubts, fears, and whatnot. I see some parallels with Generation Jonesers but with the above mentioned more openness to expressing feelings but I wouldn't be surprised if other generations didn't hold some similar feelings around the same age even with better general circumstances. Regarding the laser hacking of home assistants, I'm with Gfted1 on this one. Close the blinds or curtains or shades or whatever you have or just don't horizontally mount your device near a window. I agree that it is a cool concept but not that it's something that you should actively be cautious of.
  4. Got a new phone and I already kind of regret it. I get Android phones because I don't like Apple phones and this new phone copied too much stuff I don't like about my wife's iPhone.
  5. We finally had a chance to watch a movie and it wasn't the Eddie Murphy one. My wife really wanted to see Bad Moms so that's what we watched. We thought it was pretty good but wondered if it it would have been as funny if we weren't parents.
  6. Sorry for the double posy but a few days ago I also made a beef stew. My new thing has been a stout beer and prunes to whatever I think might benefit from one or both. Prunes have been on my list since Gromnir's pot roast recipe and I thought it worked just as great in the stew. I don't even take them out anymore and just served the soup with bits of prune still in it. My wife says it's the best I've ever made and the best she's ever had. But I've had the stews her family tends to eat and I can't exactly say that's a real high bar.
  7. Decided to make sloppy joes for lunch. My wife and MiL had never heard of them so I tried to make the best first impression for them that I could and made them from scratch instead of out of a can. Big sloppy joe smiles all around I don't really have an exact recipe but I use lean ground beef (90/10 or better) with tomatoes I dice myself and also a diced red bell pepper and a diced sweet onion. Other ingredients include ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, a stout beer, salt and pepper, Lawry's seasoning salt, garlic powder, ground mustard seed, and brown sugar. I used brioche buns this time around because that's my wife's favorite For her seconds my MiL cooked some cabbage with a few other veggies and just mixed them with the beef in a bowl but she always does weird things. I tried to explain to her that my beef sauce is not anything close to what she normally puts in her beef and cabbage dish but she really loved it even though any spice is usually too much spice for her. I don't think I could live that that. I told my wife if I can't taste delicious flavors then just pull the plug on me and if that doesn't work I pointed at a pillow on the couch and told her that she knows what to do
  8. Ha! I meant it as a measure of how long ago it's been since I've seen a movie. I did see the Avengers which was maybe the last one I've seen. I dunno, I should probably go back through this thread in case I'm forgetting something.
  9. I'll check it out when I can but I've just been so short on time lately. I'm way behind on movies and shows. Still need to watch Spiderman 2 and Captain Marvel.
  10. I would say the worst is the guy bribing someone high up in the government to screw me. Obviously though the government isn't blameless in that scenario but they wouldn't be working me over if the guy didn't pay them to. Because of that I'd put them just below Koch who engineered the whole thing. Basically they're all wrong but the guy pulling the strings is worse in my eyes Even more so in the cases in my links. They cozied up to governors and lied to their own supporters by claiming they're against taxes and for small government. Then they turn around and support taxes for new highways because they're in oil and asphalt. I'd say that makes them pretty awful.
  11. I'm absolutely for getting money out of politics but I don't think that lets the people who abuse the system, as it currently is, off the hook. Especially when they screw millions of people over doing it.
  12. I think the some of the "game ded" stuff, at least from people I know, comes more from the perceived lack of investment rather than the game itself being in the red. The content drip is easily the slowest of any MMO I've ever played and I really like the game but I've always thought it just need more of a certain I don't know what to really make it pop.
  13. Mass transit should be a viable alternative for people but here when you have some actively fighting against it . The Koch brothers were particularly egregious in that area and for all I know the remaining brother may still be at it. I'm not sure where Chillout is from but in a lot of places here in the US you don't have many options other than owning a car. Sorry for the repost I don't think billionaires shouldn't exist or anything like that but I don't think they should be able to influence state and local governments to the detriment of millions of people https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/19/climate/koch-brothers-public-transit.html Same type of stuff if you prefer to read it instead of watch it
  14. 2 at a time I believe
  15. I thought about watching it but I've heard nothing good about it
  16. Which outfit is that? I'm still running around in the tube starter suit
  17. A mix of Star Trek Online and The Outer Worlds TOW is really not my kind of game but I just finished starter planet and am still enjoying it so far but I fear that I'll be over it before I can finish it. Makes me wonder how much I'll get out of Cyberpunk and Bloodlines2 which are also first person only
  18. The GoT dudes have officially walked away from their Star Wars trilogy due to scheduling. I've read that Johnson's trilogy isn't anywhere close to beginning filming, if it's still happening at all, so I wonder if they can still hit their 2022, 2024, 2026 release schedule
  19. Started TOW and after some fiddling with the FoV slider I was off to the races. I'm still at the very beginning because I only got about 15 minutes of actual play time in but it's been great so far.
  20. Can someone recommend me a good UPS? My CyberPower something or other has **** the bed on me for the last time so I'm ready to just replace it rather than keep dealing with support
  21. I didn't much care for Fallout 4 or 3 or even New Vegas really. I'm just not a fan of the current Fallout even though the the original games are among my most favorite so Fallout is over for me. https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Shady_Sands But going even further than that I've never gotten any Elder Scrolls games except for Morrowind which I got over pretty quickly because of the mechanics. Still haven't tried TOW yet but I'm hoping something there clicks for me
  22. Yeah, I thought the quality was fine but the quantity was lacking. 6 or so hours of combined story content is pretty thin for an official expansion even though the dailies, the op, and the flashpoint pad the total gameplay time. That's really my biggest gripe and only because I actually dared to hope again with this game but no budget is gunna no budget
  23. I only caught a little of the game and apparently missed some booing and chanting
  24. I quite enjoy fresh raw oysters but don't care for them cooked. I decided to make smores. Wife and I don't care for chocolate all that much so I made them with Nutella so it wasn't straight chocolate. Very, very good.
