  1. Mmm alright. I was just curious to know if/which there were more potions/scrolls, thanks!
  2. Yeah i'm kinda amazed aswell... Looks like every class will be ability point starved, but the wizard alone got the long stick on this, with no drawbacks (or maybe they made specialist wizard crap on purpose to compensate?). Anyway since i hate aloth and dont like pc wizard, guess i'll feel gimped for the whole time, hoping that teheku and xoti will make up for it (with my pc as mindstalker soul blade, but will use soul annihilation on the cipher side mainly). I like the new system quite a lot btw, especially on high levels on poe i used basically just the low level per encounter spells to dont have to rest everytime... This time you wont have to hold yourself of any encounter, me likes it
  3. Oh man, so you are that guy, thanks for the videos! think i watched all of them :D What about a video on the craftable items?
  4. Yeah, that's a flaw in the class design btw imho. Most of us will go with their weapon of choice anyway so giving a very good bonus for a malus you probabky will never notice is quite unbalanced if you ask me. The only risk is on the first playthrough there could be an imba weapon you want to use that is not of the chosen type... But you could Google the weapon list beforehand anyway
  5. Oh i completely got it wrong then, thanks :D guess i'm going orlan with the watcher anyway, that racial seem quite stong compared to the others.
  6. Not exactly a deadfire question i guess but... Do minor threat (orlan racial skill) bonus stack with similar bonusv(dirty fighting, uncanny luck etc) and, if yes, how does it work? You start to crit with a roll 80+?
  7. Anyone can tell how exactly rooting pain works? Do you get the aoe damage even if you are at max wounds or you actually have to gain a wound to trigger it? And how big/small is the aoe area?
  8. So uhm another on game mechanics... When you use a scroll do you have the same cast speed/recovery that you would have by directly casting it? Annd did they add more scrolls or are they restricted as in poe?
  9. Oh, i've got another one... How big are the areas? In poe every map was quite small... In tytanny claustrophobic small and it kinda ruined the sense of exploration... Are they bigger this time by any chance?
  10. Depend on which edition of d&d you are talking. This works exactly like ad&d 2nd edition (except on the race restrictions, number of classes you can pick etc etc)
  11. Well, in d&d universe it had pros and cons but it wasnt a bad idea per se, cause there were many sinergies between spells (spell sequencer, contingency, dimensional door+harm, the possibility to use both scrolls etc etc) but you gave up high level spells that were very very powerful... Cant talk for poe universe but i can imagine, let's say a wizard druid, to be not that terrible cause it would give you more damaging spells per encounter, self buffs to use while shapeshifted, more buff/debuff options and some healing... That could leave more room for another non/caster in the party maybe?
  12. Yeah, feels like he is more optimized for a chanter. However, I’m sure with gear and then being really particular on what food you feed him you could get him to be a decent Druid. Pretty sure you can make anyone fit the role you want, it's just disappointing that it looks like they give companion odd attributes on purpose just to makes things harder (but at least on poe they realized some of the attributes were nonsense and they changed them)
  13. I'm pretty sure that all companion will have high resolve, that you'd dump on every character except the tank, cause of "lore'
  14. Mmm i would have liked a bit more might on teheku but the int is nice i guess
  15. party assist is useful for bolstering mechanics. for instance, in the sneak peek preview, while ydwin only has a mechanics of 10, every other party member has at least 2. the howler pc has 8, maia has 6 (maybe), tekehu with 3 and pallegina has 2 in mechanics. am not certain what the total party assist works out to be, but such is the reason ydwin were routine disarming traps with skill checks o' 11 and greater. however, is no party assist for detection. need at least 1 party member with high enough perception to be in range o' the trap to detect it. maia has a 17 perception and ydwin has 16. other party members have less perception. gonna be a few hard lessons 'fore we learn necessary perception for trap detection, 'cause such information is not displayed in the combat log... or anywhere else in the beta. currently in the beta, 15 perception is good enough, but clearly such will not be the case by the end of deadfire if the sneak peek is accurate. HA! Good Fun! Gotcha, thanks! Another reason to give 18 percepiton to the watcher
  16. I've actually been having some difficulty finding a list of the modals. Best I've found is this YouTube video which goes over everything on the proficiency selection screen. Unfortunately that selection doesn't give detailed info. Meaning it tells you that the sword modal allows you to penetrate more effectively at the cost of deflection, but it doesn't give values on how much pen you gain and how much deflection you lose. How long is the cooldown? I'm a little concerned that toggling the debuffing modals (like the morning star Body Blows modal that debuffs enemy fortitude) every X seconds will turn out to be the optimal usage. Seems cheesy. Yeah thanks for the vid, that was my only source of info for modals so far, but i was looking for something written to "study" better My second question was for your same concern. I was thinking of having 1 character dual wielding debuffing weapons and toggle the modal on/off before and after the debuff is applied
  17. I just hope it wont be too much of a money sink to skip that tedious minigame and just go for the dock combat... I'm surprised they decided to implement such a predictably boring thing.
  18. I didnt watch the full twitch, but i'm really happy to hear that. One of the thing i missed the most in poe was the lack of unique and interesting items
  19. It doesnt change much from me, cause i wanted to go with full companions anyway, but i had the impression that sidekicks would have been more than (not so much) glorified hirelings. That's quite disappointing...
  20. A cooldown limited to the modals or a generic one? I.e. If i turn a modal on/off do i have a "recovery time" before taking any other action or just to switch on/off another weapon modal? Thanks again!
  21. Do we have a list of weapon modals any where? Oh btw does activating/deactivating them takes time or it's istant?
