  1. What's the damn LORE for these weapons??
  2. Thank you. I just have a couple of additional questions though: is it only resting at an inn, or only camping, or either? Is the chance of triggering it affected by having both of them in my party at once? Do I have to exhaust their dialogue options or are there certain specific options which will lead to the conversations being triggered? If so, what?
  3. I want to know exactly how to trigger the conversations that will progress their quests. I know you get them after resting, but is it only resting at an inn, or only camping, or either? Is the chance of triggering it affected by having both of them in my party at once? Do I have to exhaust their dialogue options or are there certain specific options which will lead to the conversations being triggered? If so, what? Durance especially has a lot of dialogue and it gets tedious to go through all the greyed-out dialogue nodes trying to remember which was the last one I used, and he annoyingly cuts you off after a certain amount of dialogue anyway, so knowing you have to pick option X then option Y would be a weight off my mind.
  4. There's one ending to that bit that looks like Ondra rescues you personally, and I really want to know how to trigger that because that would be my favourite way for it to end. It feels a lot like "you don't meet any other requirements to survive but you did something earlier which pays off now"
  5. Actually even though the singer is amazing I kind of wish Sawyer had sung it himself. It would be a fun tradition to have Sawyer-directed games feature the man himself singing at some point. Definitely get him to do one if there's a POE2
  6. The song is great, and worked really well for the White March 2 trailer.
  7. Engwith converted everyone. As Thaos says to Kana, "you are LIVING in the time of my people"
  8. And how the hell am I able to bind a weapon to my soul right then and there and then sever the bond whenever I want without suffering any penalties that may or may not go away........ The penalty of severing the weapon is that it reverts to how it was when you found it and all the time you spent levelling it up was wasted.
  9. I wasn't talking about the cost, I was talking about the time and tedium spent levelling yourself up all the way from 1 just to switch talents. You CAN do that but it's not fun. Soulbound weapons being universal is also an advantage they have over uniques, and differentiates them more.
  10. I don't think they had respecs at the time, plus some people might not want to spend however much to retrain themselves at level 10 purely to switch weapon focus from clubs to sceptres.
  11. The Engwithans sacrificed themselves as a people to create the gods, leaving only their ruins and people like Thaos. At some point Ondra got paranoid about someone finding the ruins and uncovering their secrets. I forget if they say but I think after this the gods charged the Glanfathans with guarding the ruins as a compromise between leaving everything untouched and blowing up the continent.
  12. Probably making them mindless was part of how she reprogrammed them.
  13. My RPG characters definitely lean towards "hideout" more than "castle" but this game also does a decent job of "Lord of Caed Nua" being a thing you can accidentally fall into. The statue proclaims the keep yours and you say OK, now visitors keep coming to ask your opinion and it would be rude to turn them away, now some **** is roughing people up pretending to be you so you've got to settle his hash, it's not your fault the duc says he has to pay you if he wants his castle back and he threw a fit. I'm not the LORD of Caed Nua, Caed Nua is just kind of this... thing. That I'm the lord of.
  14. It seems that we agree that the current stash is unexplainable, that it was a pragmatic decision, and that they have to be made. For you this one is of no significance, for me it has little. So...yes;).We did? What is wrong with a bottomless bag of holding? We do have a magic world full of artifacts. And bags of holding is an old custom. Those having immersion problems are always free to ignore the stash, fill in their inventory only and continue to travel between loot and nearest merchant as many times as they want. Or we can choose not to travel endlessly between loot and merchants and instead take only what's immediately useful. I'm planning to do this in my next playthrough, I'm curious about the financial difference it will make. I currently have more money than I know what to do with, but ignoring all generic loot might be problematic in early game. I think I might still use the Stash for collecting ingredients and unique items, though. Would it be safe to put them in a random container in Caed Nua? I don't think they respawn? It'd have to be the right size of container though. Obviously you can't fit a suit of armour in a chest.
  15. You wouldn't miss out on the new stronghold content but you'd certainly get more by starting over. Otherwise, the expansion is balanced around being done about the end of act 2 anyway so you're fine to carry on from where you were. The scaling is a pop up that you see upon entering a new act. If you're already in Twin Elms you won't get an option to scale the game up but you will if you have a save around the big hearing at the end of act 2. You'll also get it when you go to the White March and to the final act of the main game.
  16. If you just turn on Storytime difficulty you could blast through the required quests in a couple of hours probably. Otherwise check out the Technical Support forum, it's not uncommon for people to upload their saves there.
  17. A Chanter acting as a town crier would be great. They could do the Mr New Vegas thing of not having them mention you, and there could be little interactions where you say to the chanter "hey it was me who did that" and if you produce an item related to the quest or pass a skill check they amend the story and you get a little rep bonus, if not you lose rep for trying to claim credit.
  18. Avellone himself says he doesn't take credit for 3/4 of the content for his companions.I thought he said they were cut down by 3/4 from what he'd originally written. Maybe he meant that they have the same amount if content in the game now but they cut out 3/4 of it and replaced it with an equal amount of different stuff?
  19. Imo it would be cool if the bounties went through the inns themselves rather than your stronghold. That would give you a reason to keep coming back to towns and enhance the travelling adventure feel. I also think it would be cool if there were a lot more bounties, they're neat little nuggets of lore and provide extra stuff to do in cleared-out areas.
  20. "The majority" is debatable, certainly he didn't write any of their White March lines but there's no real way of knowing how much he was responsible for in the main game.
  21. I'd just like an area where the enemies respawn every time you go back and there's a big randomised pool, so you go there and you fight spores and trolls, then next time you come back there's a couple of drakes with a xaurip army. Even mix it up and have some of the human enemies with cool sounding names that you only fight once, like Shantysingers and Warpriests.
  22. The new sidequest for Caed Nua is really cool, and Zahua's quest was a lot of fun. The fight against the legendary wizard at Cragholdt Bluff was a highlight for me as well. From the base game I was a big fan of Heritage Hill.
  23. If you complain about the stash on the basis of immersion without also complaining about the 16 inventory slots and 4 quick slots you are a fake gamer.
  24. If you went through all his dialogue options in part 1 you'll have gotten to one where you can offer to help him and he says "no, your thing is more important". That line is now "yes, please help me" and his quest will begin. Just go through the dialogue until you get that option again.
  25. That pet can cast spells and help you in a fight. You also get access to his spellbook which contains several unique spells, and there are a bunch of rare crafting ingredients scattered around his study. I'm almost afraid to mention how good the rewards are for beating Concelhaut in case Sawyer sees this and decides to nerf them.
