Jolee - basically a grey force user, but I would not mind seeing him again if possible in the third game. It helps to be able to listen to someone rather than the PC asking questions all the time and getting one line responses like 'Something up?' or Very well, General'.

If there is another thing that I can think about in relation to the Al script for enemies, is to have them use feats like Critical Strike and Flurry as their main attack rather than using Power Attack. Most of the mercenaries in K2, including many other bosses like Azkul and the Twin Suns were hardly bosses at all. It was probably the weapons that they used that did most of the damage rather than specific combat feats. Not to mention Kreia's three floating lightsabers that essentially used only normal attacks. If they had been two single lightsabers and a double-bladed lightsaber, where the single lightsabers used Master Flurry as a main attack and Critical Strike for the double-bladed lightsaber, it would have added some style of fighting to them. I would not suggest three double-bladed lightsabers, though. OE could have created graphics and animation for the combat feats without being wielded by Kreia. And also, the double-bladed lightsaber would have twice the health of the single sabers.

Which Jedi Master least deserved their fate?
vaxen83 replied to Sikon's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It is true that Vrook and Jolee may both have their own flaws, but I would take Vrook over Kreia anytime. At least there was some demonstration of fighting either against him or with him against Azkul on Dantooine like the way Kavar fought on Onderon. Kreia's fighting style was fairly usual even with her three floating lightsabers. (It was like being chased by wild geese) Also, Kreia hardly ever showed her lightsaber skills at all using any combat feats apart from using Critical Strike sometimes. (Same for her purple lightsabers) And for someone who seeks the death of the force, she seems to use force powers a lot. -
It would be interesting to see some of the conceptual artwork that the company who proposes to undertake the production of K3 will be working on. Also, if Stealth was further developed, it would work well in swamp-like environments and for conversation monitoring purposes.

Master Vrook was ok. It was simply that his dialogue lines were quite blunt and was blatantly hostile if you played as a DS character. Also, sparring with him might be a pain if your PC was not adequately ready. -
Most annoying things that happen in KOTOR2

Sometimes in the game, containers and lockers that can be opened with security are almost empty. Saw quite a few of those when playing through the game. -
Well K3 is likely to be produced, but whether its release will be well-received by people interested in the game tends to be quite subjective.

There is a door which is called turbolift which leads to the engine section of the Harbinger. Those east and west doors are permanently locked, meaning that they are not meant to be opened. You can make your way through the medical bay and the turbolift door is near there. (Also, before you rush through the level, some rooms have items in footlockers and cylinders that you might want to keep a lookout for)

Jedi robes tend to be an option if finesse with melee weapons or lightsabers is used. (If you use finesse, defence bonuses from dexterity is limited by armour) I tend to use robes often with a Consular/Sentinel PC.

Certain underground locations like undiscovered military technology would allow some variation. The Old Military Base was a location on Telos where the PC only went there in search of another transport craft and it looked fairly isolated. If there had been additional Czerka people inside, or other NPCs that needed to be rescued, sidequests could have been included for that part of the game. And the tank droid only gave 500 exp points and often no items could be gained after defeating it. And if there is going to be some undiscovered bases in K3, the computer terminals in those bases would need to be utilised, otherwise there are few options apart from fighting enemies. There was only one option to destroy those military droids in the Old Military Base in K2 by blowing them apart. And since the sub-level was excluded, it looked like a walkthrough level rather than a base.

Things that went wrong with this game

At the same time, if people tried to imagine K2 as an exact game of K1, it becomes a prototype of the first game. (Like HK-50 prototypes of HK-47) -
Has anyone tried leveling up against kinrath hatchlings in the crystal cave? What I found was that if I switched party members in the crystal chamber and then ran out, between 7-8 kinrath hatchlings would appear. Seemed to work many times. Each one gave between 125-175 exp. So, there is a Hsiss spawn, Sith Assassin spawn together with the one against kinrath. Found leveling up easier with kinrath. What do people think? Which spawn did you prefer?

Story path/direction in relation to K1
vaxen83 replied to dufflover's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Kreia was placed by OE as a Consular on Peragus without her own weapon. Yet, she is shown to be someone who is potentially lethal. (There is a scene of her walking in the Trayus Academy and Sith Assassins stalking her, yet they collapse fatally and her manner of draining their lives is almost superficial) And OE gave Kreia a non-Jedi weapon when dueling with Sion on the Harbinger. Anyone could actually wield a vibrosword, even Atton. -

The random item system made the game ambiguously confounding. Randomisation might have worked in NWN or perhaps fantasy games, but the last thing people would expect is to have that in SW games. What it does is it makes certain items so difficult to get that they are hardly ever encountered in many games of K2. Think of this: For a K2 game, you play as a Jedi Guardian/Weaponmaster and am waiting to get a , and in another game as a Consular/Jedi Master using finesse: lightsaber feat. Why would your PC need to get an item that adds to strength like the as a Consular? There are times when you are thinking of getting items to increase your main attribute like as a Consular or even , so Str increase is not really needed. (When an item is needed by a PC, it might not be in the game, when it is not required, it tends to appear) Besides, Consulars usually only have Constitution 14 or 16. -
It would also help to have additional NPCs throughout different locations on the planet and who are able to lend some assistance to party members without having to join the party and who have certain combat abilities, particularly against challenging bosses. (Slightly like the battle on Dantooine, either against Master Vrook or Azkul) Which was what would have added to the ending (Small scale conflicts between Atton and Disciple, Handmaiden and Visas)
-
By the way, if anyone is thinking about having the opportunity to get a PC to level 100, think of how this would relate to the personal character crystal that is found in the cave on Dantooine: Getting most of the higher bonuses of that means having to level up your character. I am doubtful about having bonuses from a personal crystal for 100 levels. Besides, not every game has to be necessarily long and tedious.

And instead the only force user that was allowed to teach what she wanted to the PC was Kreia most of the time. Her style of teaching looked passive to me, actually.

Things that went wrong with this game

Most of what you are saying is actually true, ShadowCaster. What you see in K2 is just basically a version of a KOTOR story that has been either diluted or stretched beyond its capacity for an evenly paced telling of the Exile's story. K1 appeared to be adequate generally according to how Bioware saw it as. Since the introduction of K2 was lacking, it would be reflected in an ending of abruptness. -
If there is anything that is already present in K1 and K2, it is having so much of randomisation. The d20 system is generally randomised, items are also randomised. The next thing that people would not want to look forward to is a rearrangement of what K2 has done to create additional random effects. Having a few force sentitive caves on different planets with a few unique crystals in each would add to the variability of planet locations.
-
Another thing about Kreia was that since she started off as a Consular in K2, it would have made sense for her to carry her own lightsaber. Not exactly clear about why she used a vibrosword against Sion on the Harbinger. (Perhaps a personal lightsaber for Kreia which no other Jedi could use)
-
Also, unless I made a mistake, Master Speed does not seem to work by adding extra attacks each round when using a rifle.

The effect of having randomisation of lightsaber crystals in K2 was painfully tedious. Although there were randomly generated crystals for lightsabers in almost every shop inventory, the crystals that were obtained only provided damage increments of between 1-6 and 1-8 (Upari for one of the shop vendors on Nar Shadda) Pontite crystals (1-10) were rare and only one could be found in the Onderon palace. (So if a character had two single lightsabers and used Power Attack or Critical Strike, two Pontite crystals were needed, while another crystal could be Velmorite or Nextor) Some of the crystals provided only meagre bonuses like Dragite (+1 to Con and +1 Sonic damage) yet they were found most of the time in the salvager's inventory on Dantooine. If there was more than one force-sensitive cave on planets where past Jedi had been to before, at least two to three, it might be easier to be allowed a wider range of crystals to be ued for lightsabers. And it would mean having to get through creatures and enemies guarding those crystals. (Possible to have variety in boss enemies) If lightsabers are going to be found at random, having two different crystals together in the same lightsaber might give certain combination bonuses that add either to some attributes, damage or even defence. This would be essential if lightsabers were going to do critical damage. Most of the emitters, cells and lens did not give the option of added damage to critical hits although normal damage could be increased by 1-12 with an Adegan lens. Diablo 2: Lod had a rune system where rune formations/words would give some sort of bonuses that were previously unavailable on most magic items. Even the added damage to critical hits tends to be more for melee weapons through devaronian edges and sonic cells. (Although lightsabers have six slots while melee weapons have three)

Blaster shots from rifles like the Charric easily ignore personal shields that may be active on opponents you may be fighting against while blaster pistols damage shields if they are on before reducing enemy vitality.

However, seriously, the mass killing of the Council just as Vrook and the others were about to immobilise the Exile was confounding. Since the Jedi masters were killed and the PC is unconscious, Kreia then gives a continous lecture about how Jedi are only able to see things from within the Force. You have to wonder if she is having a conversation with the Force as no one in the Enclave is alive to be able to listen to what she is saying. (Exile is unconscious and Jedi masters have been killed) Although she says that she betrayed everyone around her, I tend to think that she betrayed herself generally.

Only Padawan and Jedi robes, along with various armour types generally.
