  1. I tried the RC of Windows 7 and I like it. Far better than Vista which I never bought but I tried it on my parents computer. My love of XP will come to an end next week.
  2. Just read the comments of the buyers if you happen to be at Newegg. I went by their comments and reviews in MaximumPC before I buy any computer hardware.
  3. I wish the Pitt had more to it. Exploring a few places of such a large city was pointless.
  4. The run around begins. Asus Where to Repair ? Please contact your reseller Newegg
  5. Just got my additional 2G of RAM that I ordered. Gotta love XP 3.25Gs of RAM. Come on Windows 7. I'm getting this computer set up for Windows 7. Now to order that nifty ATI 5870 card.
  6. The E8400 is a good CPU with good overclocking abilities, so I heard. I never overclocked mine. Just got my Q9550 today. I'll have to install in the next time I have a day off from work since it will take a few hours to do. I have to take the motherboard out of the computer so I can take out and then reinstall the stupid aftermarket CPU fan. I may just install the stock CPU fan so I can avoid the hassle in the future.
  7. Just tried a different CPU and still no go. So that must mean its the motherboard. I did various tests with it. I connected some fans to the north bridge area and lights flicker off and on like its not getting enough power to it. Plus when I put that different CPU in one of the fans didn't turn on plus the CPU fan didn't come on. Must be short some where in the north bridge.
  8. A spoiler, is a spoiler, is a spoiler. There's just no way around it.
  9. 5850? Why stop there, go up to the big boy the 5870.
  10. My state is the highest state in unemployment at 14.1%. That's what happens when you rely too much on manufacturing and automotive.
  11. Detroit sucks. I only watch them because of Stafford. He ruled when he played for Georgia. Would love to see the Vikings in Green Bay. Favre would have to endure the hate from his former fans. He's the enemy now. Go Green Bay.
  12. So far I don't see support for Windows XP. That will be a problem since I want to have a hard drive dedicated to Windows XP and another dedicated to Windows 7 on this machine.
  13. I just placed an order for it. The CPU had to be a LGA 775 since I have no intention in replacing the motherboard for an I5 or I7. I'll be putting this in the computer I am on right now, since this is what I intend to update to Windows 7, and take the CPU from this computer and put it in the other.
  14. That's a pretty cool trailer.
  15. Guess I'm now in the market for a new CPU. Hows those quad? This one here caught my eye.
  16. I prefer the blue screen of death over the black version. The blue version is usually a software, OS, problem and can be taken care for the most part by reformatting the drive and reinstall the OS. Black screen is usually a hardware problem like a dead CPU. Any how I think the CPU got fried. I took off the cooler, took out the CPU, reinstalled it and tried it with the same results. I noticed the cooler wasn't on nice and tight with the CPU. Well there went my E8400 that was hardly used.
  17. The Shining Theme
  18. I bought them both at the same time (over a year ago). I doubt I would be able to get anything out of them warranty wise. But since owning it I noticed that the North and South bridges ran pretty hot compared to this computer. Both of my computers have the same type of motherboards.
  19. That is also the main theme of the E3 BG2 trailer.
  20. Well, some of the Asus boards are smart because it includes a LCD screen that shows you the boot process. This time I paid attention to it and it comes to a dead stop when it gets to the CPU. If that is the problem I don't know how it could have died. I rarely use that computer. I just had that CPU (E8400) put in last Spring. I have my doubts that it became unseated since the cooler on it is pretty tight.
  21. No BIOS beeps, mother board is all lit up.
  22. On my other computer I am getting the black screen of death when I turn it on. I get nothing on the screen and I don't hear the hard drives going through their booting process. I have two different hard drives, one for Windows XP and the other has Windows 7. Disconnected one and tried the other same results. It was working fine two weeks ago when I last had it running. Hard ware is in place and seated fine, video cards, sound card, etc.
  23. Baldur's Gate Tutu. I was a purest for a while and never bothered with Tutu. It gives the game a fresh new look using the BG2 engine.
  24. Kotor 1. I haven't decided which side to play on so I've been keeping it neutral so far.
