  1. Freedom is being able to read old Garfield comics when I want to.
  2. That joke was in Scrubs too. Apparently it happens quite a bit.
  3. They're the same, he referred to himself as camspider before. I guess his birthday is multiple choice.
  4. I keep scanning these posts for links but I guess it's not an SEO bot.
  5. Short, to the point and borderline prophetic. I like it.
  6. Closed for length. Make a new one if you wish.
  7. Jeanne d'Arc is successful? She had a big impact, but getting burned at the stake at 19 doesn't sound like a rousing personal success to me.
  8. Yes, but in the same way that the risk of falling off the stairs is higher when you stop taking the elevator.
  9. I didn't say whether it was a good or bad comedy but both Guardians flicks to me are pretty clearly comedies.
  10. Guardians is not a comedy? News to me.
  11. Top athletes =/= doing basic excercise. If that's your benchmark for not being "too off" then I dunno what to tell ya. It's like saying it's okay the perp of a murder spree got six months in prison because so did the dude who suckerpunched someone.
  12. I just read in an interview that Trump thinks excercise is bad for you, because a person is born with a finite amount of energy and excercise uses that up. XD https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2017/5/9/15590962/donald-trump-thinks-exercise-will-kill-you A choice quote from the article: How'd this guy get in office!? Oh right, people VOTED for him.
  13. "The Imperial Senate will no longer be of any concern to us." On a side note, I'm a bit concerned with how powerfully the phrase 'alternative facts' has entered everyone's daily lexicon. The more casually it's used, the more these flat-out lies are associated unconsciously with the word facts, both giving value to lies that they should not possess as well as decreasing value of anything that is described as an actual fact.
  14. Because it's fine to judge someone by their cold stare, but you can't judge someone by their fake hair. :D
  15. Duh, you used up your good luck on that roll.
  16. I suppose you're right, though I disagree with referring to it as tactics. Implies clever manipulation, which is clearly beyond the horrible **** on both sides.
  17. I think you got it wrong, they are not thin skinned. It wasn't about the joke, it's about causing damage. The right is taking every move from the leftist handbook and subverting it, this is what the left has been getting away with for years and now you begin to complain. Besides, its not even the first time that someone tries to shut Colbert down, it just the first time that the right tries to. But when you do what you say is reason why you hate certain group of people, you actually become same as those you are complaining about. Which means that right has become left (and left has become right) It is new world order, where people don't seem to realize that they are upside down. Which would be the problem if Oro was correct. But only online alt-right 4chan trolls and those run by them like Breitbart and Stormfront think in those terms and the truth is both historically and contemporary, the right is traditionally the censor moreso than the left. Comic books, TV, anti-christian content, violent video games and 'unpatriotic' messages like this have ALWAYS caused the right to throw these hissy fits. Maybe Americans forgot about every right-wing whingefest about criticizing Bush being 'un-American' because Obama existed for a bit but I didn't. These are the people who tried to get people fired for 'not supporting the poor troops' if someone made a joke about Bush's hair. If anything, the last couple of years of left activity is closer to what Oro describes than Trump's safespace craving fanclub. Ohnoes someone critized the Pres, ohnoes a musical cast was rude to a redneck politician. Whine whine whine bitch bitch bitch but the left is the side that can't take a joke. Ha!
  18. While the internet called that a trailer it was referred to as 'first look clips' by the producer, which explains why it's not much of a trailer. I'm guessing news sites wanted to capitalize on the fact the first trailer broke all records for views.
  19. Off-Topic Aside from an Animator and Animation Buff: Whoever told you this is a liar. It's not only false, it's not even possible due to their respective ages and career lengths. Walt Disney released his first Mickey Mouse cartoon in 1928, the year Tezuka was BORN, and his first feature animation Snow White in 1937. By the time Tezuka released his first manga (NOT anime) in 1945 Walt Disney had made countless animated cartoons and 7 feature length films including Dumbo and Bambi. By the time Tezuka first entered the animation industry with Astro Boy under a different name in late 1959 (which flopped), Walt Disney released the last animated film he acted as a hands on producer for (Sleeping Beauty) and moved on to Live Action hybrids like Mary Poppins, and by the time the popular version of Astro Boy hit it big in 1963 and made Tezuka an animation legend in Japan, Walt Disney had stopped working on animation all together to produce live action films, parks and his EPCOT project, only serving as a executive to Disney animation, his credits as 'Producer' were only because it was his company. When Disney died in 1966, it's unlikely he would even know Tezuka's name and he certainly never animated anything inspired by him, though later Disney execs and animators would (as evidenced by the wholesale copying of Kimba the White Lion). EDIT: Here's some additional reading that describes how Tezuka was inspired by, and copied liberally from, Walt Disney, including Tezuka's own claim he watched Bambi over 80 times. http://www.themovieblog.com/2013/08/how-walt-disney-influenced-anime/
  20. To be fair, I'm assuming Ms Gadot might have been hired for her look and may even have clauses against weight gain of any kind in her contract. If the late Carrie Fisher was to be believed, this happens more often than not, and the decision to have Gadot 'bulk up' for the role probably doesn't lie with her own dedication.
  21. I've been a fan of Nacho Vigalondo for a while now, he's very witty and inventive. Looking forward to it! Thought I didn't know him, but apparently he made my favourite short film of all time, 7:35 In The Morning.
