  1. Well, only for chords. The real thing where tabs shine is where they just tell you what fret to press to make that note you heard in that one song. That's all tracks filled with numbers! It's the easy way to learn guitar. I should know, I learned basic guitar from it without ever learning how to read music or taking a lesson. Hurlshot, just google "how to read tabs". It's pretty easy. EDIT:
  2. I have a cheap Squier just like you. The amps that come with those cheap "starter sets" are terrible, though. I thought I just couldn't play the damn thing for years until I plugged it into my friend's bigger, more expensive amp. Then I discovered I'm actually pretty good! Have you figured out how to read tabs yet?
  3. And train your pinky fingers from the start. I cannot stress this enough. People go "man, I can do all these parts with the other fingers and then it's not as painful!" But then you get to that one bit that DOES require the pinky finger, and you will want to play that your usual speed and skill because otherwise it seems boring... and then you will feel the strain all the way up to your shoulders.
  4. The supermarket specials of Mars Bars and Razor Blades came in handy.
  5. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World I was mostly scratching my head throughout. It had some really funny bits, but the pacing was incredibly off and made it feel a lot more boring than what was happening on screen should have allowed. I think it went a little overboard - after twenty minutes you're sort of used to it throwing curveballs at you and for the rest of the movie you stop being surprised at anything.
  6. I was talking to a Chinese immigrant lately. He lives in Canada now, but he moved from China to Australia originally. Then he left Australia because, his words, "Australia's worse than China". I find it quite scary to hear that from someone who has lived in both places for many years. Maybe the western world needs to stop trying to save the poor asians everywhere and fix their own deep **** first.
  7. Considering Dreamworks can put out superb animated flicks like this now, and Pixar is pushing Cars 2 now... I can officially declare the playing field between these two leveled. They both have the same potential for dreck and fantastic.

  9. If he just kills me out of nothing, it's not like I'll be able to regret it. Cancer or kidnappings scare me much more.
  10. Word of mouth from a Chinese immigrant I know - China's about as communist as Fox News.
  11. Yeah, I was quite surprised because everything before indicated that ZvT was unbalanced in the favor of T. Fuit Dealer (who before SC2 was known as a progamer called simply "Cool") did some nasty Baneling drops, a strategy now referred to as "Fruit Drops".
  12. It's cause Kevin Smith is a terrible director. Great writer, but really terrible director. And usually, he writes what he directs. He didn't write Cop Out. Sometimes I think Kevin Smith should just write and produce and then let some other, more visually gifted director do the actual directing.
  13. What does that mean? As I've heard, it makes "I Am Legend" seem like a faithful adaptation to the book.
  14. I believe there's probably a truth to everything out there, but we sure as hell are never gonna know it and wasting time navelgazing about it is a collosal waste of time and life. As for origins, I've always wondered why there has to be one. Can't something just be without it having started?
  15. By the Coen Brothers. They don't listen to questions. The Coens do whatever the heck they want, and with good reason. Plus, it's actually not a remake but a new adaptation, something the John Wayne movie failed to be.
  16. I don't have to say that at all, unless you consider other things of that style and depth such as Neil Gaiman's novels as "harry potter type light reading".
  17. This post wins the prize for usefulness.
  18. Against the thread, but YESTERDAY I saw the Eels perform live in the Oosterpoort in Groningen. They rocked my socks off.
  19. Somehow this strikes me as a bit of an understatement.
  20. First time in the history of the internet that the "Arguing on the Internet" picture is actually useful seems to simultaneously be the first time in the history of the internet that no one posts it.
  21. Hydralisks were so much more useful in Brood War, where they were so much faster, on a lower tier, cheaper and could transition into Lurkers. They're now slow, hard to get to, and the Lurker's role has been taken over by the Baneling. Great if you have them around for anti-air, but unneccesary and the Mutas and Corrupters you probably have at that time are more effective.
  22. I think that advantage is only minor in this case because the campaign plays so incredibly different from multiplayer. But I might be wrong.
