StarCraft 2
This one's a little longer, and the commentator sounds so very gay, but this is one of the most hilarious things I've seen in the game so far:

Creative people are clinically insane (or going to be)
Considering both myself and other animators I've worked with, the thread title is completely true.

StarCraft 2
Haha, that gave me a good laugh.

Yahtzee reviews
Haha, his bit about StarCraft II made me laugh quite a bit.

Del Toro And Cameron to shoot 'Mountains Of Madness' movie
I somehow think the plot will be very different. The background story, settings, names, monsters etc., I think they'll keep that. But the characters will be different and the things that happen in it will as well.

StarCraft 2
Yeah, there hasn't been a lot of time to mod yet. Especially because the editor is much more complicated than the War3 one. I think so, anyway.

StarCraft 2
I think it's because of Blizzard's forced dichotomy between Single and Multiplayer. They did the same thing to WarCraft III, but there is was even worse (to the point that it often felt like two completely seperate games). I get that it allows them to play around with the single player without completely unbalancing the multiplayer, but it just takes away the whole "play single to learn the tech proper for multi" aspect that their early RTS titles did so well.

StarCraft 2
Yes. I have to say that I am extremely happy that medics are not in multiplayer, because I play Zerg and M&M is a nightmare to deal with. Ha! Actually, the next generation of M&M&M (Marines Marauders Medivacs) is even more annoying but harder for Terrans to get to.

StarCraft 2
The secret to that problem is cheap unit spam. I've found that if you make enough M&Ms (Marines & Medics) you can do anything.

StarCraft 2
Ah, I chose to go with Warfield, so yeah. Nydus Worms aren't a threat, they die to Banshee fire like crazy before they unload. I have a much bigger problem with the huge range of broodlords. I also didn't see any Lurkers, which I was hoping for.

StarCraft 2
Speaking of important subordinates, I just realized I haven't seen any Queens in the campaign. Did anyone else?
-
StarCraft 2
Yeah I thought of that, but I loved the squabbling Cerebrates.
-
StarCraft 2
Yeah, but in earlier Blizzard interviews it's already been revealed the first expansion, Heart of the Swarm, the Zerg Campaign, .

StarCraft 2
Not sure what you mean with that? Like, afterward? Or before? If it's the before, that's why Blizzard released "I, Mensk", a StarCraft novel.

StarCraft 2
That's what scouting is for. EDIT: Not that I don't agree. I have real difficulty countering things properly, if you start with the wrong build you're pretty much doomed. But I suspect the metagame will settle down eventually.

StarCraft 2
The same thing will probably be true for StarCraft 2 then, because the computer players don't play like human players at all. They barely ever expand, they use the same army compositions, they never go for counters, they insist on mid-game pressure and if you turtle long enough they will eventually run out of resources and you can completely steamroll them. Except for Insane Difficulty, which suffers from The A.I. Is A Cheating Bastard Syndrome and gets extra resources.

StarCraft 2
If Grom's death didn't move you, then you have no soul. Maybe it was moving because it was slick. But that does not make it any less moving. And Arthas' ascent to the Lich King. Oh, you jackass Prince, you are a terrible person, but I can't help but pity... I was happy when Grom died, because he was so incredibly disappointing. The screaming happy go lucky slaughter Grunt from WarCraft II was turned into some wheezy voiced follower who just "falls off the wagon". What a gyp. WarCraft III was the biggest disappointment ever. To me, anyway. I'd been waiting for it since it was announced because WarCraft II was pretty much my favourite game for much of my youth.

Movies you have seen recently
I actually thought Shutter Island's ending was pretty ambiguous, just not in the "was it real or wasn't it real?" way, more in the At least, that's how I interpreted it.

What you did today
I just finished reading Anders Loves Maria by Rene Engstrom. Fantastic.

What do you do if you don't have a "correct" emotional response to something?
The fact that you worry about not having that response means you're fairly well-adjusted. A lot of people have this. It's fairly common. Sometimes it never "hits" a person in the way they expect, sometimes it happens later. A friend of mine had it when his mother died, it took him a couple of weeks before his system finally realized what had happened and he pretty much broke down.

Webcomic hosting
It's better, but not what I meant. I meant just using black linework, which often is just as effective as anything else. Example: Also, with what you got now the lack of contrast between the background and text makes it hard to read. Make the text black and it'll be fine, I suspect.

Webcomic hosting
I'd keep it in black and white. The colors don't work together very well, are distracting. Keeping it simple in black and white makes it easier to read and also give you reason to focus on your linework to keep character apart which in the long run will help develop your art skills a lot more.

As a beta player I would like to nominate this statement as the understatement of the year.
