  1. I had that kind of week where everything I've done turned out to be thusly inconsequential that I'm thinking the universe might have killed me but just forgot to give reality the memo.
  2. I heard good things about Pivotal Tracker, we considered using that but we went with Hansoft instead which turned out to be a disaster. I'll try out trello, that looks really good. Is actually what it's named after.
  3. I'm still debating with myself whether I should pledge - since the kickstarter is just to make a full story reel to show to Hollywood. It's still no guarantee that a studio will actually pick it up, and like I said before Animation targeted specifically to adults is box office poison. If adults were just a periphery group like Pixar films, then I'd have faith, but aimed squarely at adults means that even with a story reel it's still extremely unlikely it's going to be picked up... and what will it really show that the proof of concept didn't? On the other hand, I REALLY want this movie to be picked up and made.
  4. Having to go to the USA is a cruel punishment, in context and out of it.
  5. But those are not reasons for a studio to pick it up - if a movie doesn't hit box office gold it's considered a failure. Look, I agree with you on that it should be picked up for those reasons, but it's very easy to understand why studios aren't picking it up right now. They live on an old and failing system of multiplex returns and they're not showing any signs of learning.
  6. "As if this wouldn't make money"? I really want to see this movie, but animation for adults has always been box office poison.
  7. I feel the opposite every time someone mentions that movie. This "The Goon" production by David "Fight Club" Fincher and Blur "Awesome Video Game Trailers" Studios predates Goon and CGI movie not aimed primarily at kids is currently the holy grail of the animation industry (as someone studying CG animation, this is extremely important to me). Every single time there was news about the Sean William Scott movie, I'd go "Goon? They finally made this? **** YES!" and I'd see some dumb movie about a pointless children's game instead*. Happy they're doing this. *Just messin' with ya.
  8. Physical ways are always best. I've been on projects using programs for it - Hansoft or Tickspot for example - and everyone working on the project tends to really resent it.
  9. That's a crappy situation - my sympathies. I feel that if it's a way to honor his memory that means something to you, go for it. This is your thing to deal with, not anyone else's.
  10. - Some kid back in high school when seeing some other kid in a Che T-Shirt. Che used to symbolize something (the jury will forever be out on what exactly), but ironically capitalism made sure he now stands for commercialism and ignorance.
  11. So by all means keep going. The less Obsidian takes this board seriously the better the game will be. No game has ever been improved by listening to the vocal minority.
  12. Next to nothing is known about the game. How can you be disappointed already?
  13. That sounds tasty. Also, garlic seems like a good addition to that. It definitely is.
  14. My favourite quick snack is getting some chicken breast or plaice fillet - cut it into small bits, put it in milk, then in a bag full of breadcrumbs with some spices, shake, then get them out and fry them up in a skillet in some olive oil. Bitesized hot snacks.
  15. I don't know the artist but the pictures on the first page - while technically well created - are extremely cliche and boring. I assume the love for him is based on something other than those pictures because they make him look like a poor man's Frazetta. Those Kormack pictures are much more interesting - he understands composition.
  16. It IS crafty. He made all the posts here prove his point for him!
  17. they should stop filching design ideas from WoW. Oh the enormous irony. I am just giddy! You lost me there, chief. "Stop stealing ideas from WoW" was by far the top complaint on the battle.net Diablo 3 forums during its development. If I recall correctly, StarCraft 2 too.

  19. Not only overreaction theater, but lack of priorities theater. If Obs listens to the people on this board the game will end up all the worse for it. Thankfully, the Obs designers have vision and integrity - they won't cave to any of the awful ideas thrown forth here. It's become a cesspool of Battle.net proportions in record time.
  20. I'd never considered this before, but now that I think about it those Pixar movies have dropped the half year delay of finally arriving in theatres here... Suddenly I support piracy.
