  1. Haha, I actually have quite a good relationship with my parents - I do think it about my 'in-laws' very, very often though. I spend some train rides willing their hearts to explode.
  2. I just crash my computer and yell obscenities at my screen a lot. Getting ready to move. Since the place I lived in was a dump, I'm actually quite relieved, even if me and my girlfriend of six years have to temporarily live at my parents place until we find a place of our own - which I'm sadly waitlisted for due to there being more people who want to rent homes than there are homes to rent.
  3. I've always enjoyed the Planar Sphere, Firkraag's Quest and the d'Arnise Keep but honestly my first stop is always the circus to kill that goddamned gnome and steal his items. They're quite nice for how ridiculously easy that section is. Plus, I get to stab an ogre in the face in the full knowledge of who it really is.
  4. Haha, my character is deliciously pointless. Carry my useless dead weight, others! That moment when you switched Tale's alignment I heard The Who in my head screaming, the CSI way. It was hilarious.

    Music

Anything where such an annoying voice starts singing along cannot be in good conscious called "best" at anything.
  6. The chance is bigger than you think. Tigranes managed to slaughter quite a few people. If I recall, I have one death left and due to my class and level I'm vaguely expecting not to get out of Irenicus' Dungeon. Anyway, glad to see you're coming back to this. It was a lot of fun to read about your mad scrambles to keep us alive against all odds.
  7. Saw The Hobbit too, and while it's not without it's problems I felt it's sense of adventure made up for most of those problems. I kept thinking how much of the D&D experience must have been based on Tolkien because it felt like a fun D&D game - going from setpiece and encounter to setpiece and encounter and all those encounters were quite fun. I would have liked to have been told, however, that I was going to see a musical.
  8. Feels like Christmas. Thanks for the sympathy I just managed to find a temporary space to stay until we, being me and my girlfriend, find a more permanent home already, so I'm not in trouble of being homeless and therefore I think your sympathy would be better focused on those poor people in Connecticut that I just read about.
  9. Whee my rental contract wasn't renewed and I'm going to have to leave my home by Jan. 15. SO EXCITED.
  10. Hell yes Pacific Rim. That looks like the movie I've been waiting for since I was an eight year old boy.
  11. I think you misunderstand direct. It's a spiritual successor. Anyway, I was part of their forums before they went from "fan sequel" to "spiritual successor" and they're a bunch of idiots. Not only are they treating it like a multiplayer e-Sport, but they're missing the point of the game. Dungeon Keeper was always about humor and these guys are playing everything straight. Everything is designed to look badass or cool, whereas half the things in Dungeon Keeper (i.e. Bile Demon) looked hilarious on first sight. They also constantly promise updates and don't deliver and disappear for weeks. Extremely unprofessional. As much as I want a successor to DK, not backing this one. Waste of money. Gee Neutral, if you don't like the concept of the game maybe you should just say so instead of obfuscating your point ? What? I'm not sure what I'm supposed to obfuscating. I stand by everything I said - I want a spiritual successor to Dungeon Keeper, but this isn't one even if that's how they're selling it. I've dealt with these people personally and I can tell you they don't have any idea of what made Dungeon Keeper a fun game. I love their core concept as presented, but they're not actually making that.

  13. Think harder, then. Rock of Ages Knight and Day Mission: Impossible III The Last Samurai Far and Away ****tail I hear Jack Reacher is rubbish too. While I agree that Tom Cruise has made a lot of rubbish films, The Last Samurai? Really? I thought that was a pretty good movie despite it's "white man gone native" conceit. Hell, if anything Ken Watanabe alone made that movie worth watching. I'd also put MI and MI:II on the list before MI:III because while it was predictable and dumb at least it was entertaining which is more then I can say about those first two pieces of pure bore. Haven't seen the fourth, but I'm sure that one's good. Brad Bird directed it, after all.
  14. What if Doom was spunkgargleweewee.
  15. Did you add typos in that post to add insult to injury? Either way, I laughed my butt off.
  16. I just finished this today and it reduced me to a blubbering mess.
  17. I quite liked Dishonored and Kingdoms of Amalur. I think the former wins the prize. Honorable mention to Diablo 3 which was a bit disappointing but still got me stuck into the loot roulette skinner box like a freaky OCD mouse.
  18. Why isn't it fine art? It's got form and function. Who are you to decide what art is or isn't? What are your credentials? Seriously, I get that a topic like this might rub people the wrong way but it's no reason to be an arrogant prick.
  19. I use dual screens while working. Not only does it allow me to keep up with shows, it keeps my internet addiction at bay because if I didn't have something going on next to work my mouse would automatically move to start up my browser without me consciously trying.
  20. Saw the Walking With Dinosaurs Live Experience yesterday. So badass.
  21. You're actually missing what I consider to be his best flick, Mystic River.
  22. Urgh, I am so conflicted about Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller Chronicle. Expert and very entertaining writer and storyteller who chooses to use that talent to tell an extremely dull tale of wizard school student loans from the point of view of the worst Mary Sue in the history of fantasy. I'm somehow always riveted while reading it yet so disappointed at the end because he's essentially told a story that could be summed up in about ten pages without missing any important details. I agree, although I've read Mort several times as well. Fantastic book. I just finished David Wong's This Book Is Full Of Spiders - Seriously, Dude, Don't Touch It which lacked the braincracking insanity* of its predecessor (John Dies At The End) but was still highly entertaining and had a much stronger structure. Still a rare example of horror comedy that exhibits both horror and comedy. Next on the list is Yahtzee "Zero Punctuation" Croshaw's new novel "Jam". *
  23. I read the original short story that it was based on and it was thought provoking and beautiful. Not thinking the same will be true for the movie. My girlfriend watches that show religiously and I have to admit, after the whole "oblargagtwilight" and "emovampireromance" raging it's become a very, very guilty pleasure for me. As a whole it's pretty well plotted, the teen drama is kept to a minimum, but it's real strength is in showcasing a number of promising young actors and actresses who will likely go on to have bright futures (i.e. Ian Somerhalder, Candice Accola). The only real downside of this show is that the dialogue is atrocious and repetitive. If I hear "from the vein" or "let bygones be bygones" one more I swear I'll throw something at my TV. Thankfully, to balance out the loss of manhood from not entirely hating that show, I've been watching Breaking Bad which I am much too late to the table to. It is extremely fantastic and it deserves all the praise and awards it get.
  24. They also own the Muppets, so why not have Kermit join in to sing It's Not Easy Being Green.
