  1. Man, I forgot getting chunked is instant permadeath for a character. Poor Calax. Also, pretty sure I'm not making it through the Planar Prison. I'm already thinking of what to re-apply with. Something that isn't done often... Half Orc Cleric / Thief?
  2. I take it you haven't actually read The Hobbit. I've seen this response several times and it confuses me because most people I know who read the book liked the movie better than those who didn't. I loved it and I've read the book several times.
  3. Taking a closet apart for my impending move and the top was apparently already loose for some reason. Proceeded to land exactly on my big toe. Ouch.
  4. For this particular LP, I think it's neither? It's just Tigranes playing solo and sharing his experiences (and embellishing and elaborating a bit here and there). All communication happens in this thread. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...................... why?!? Uhhhhhhhh... okay. Wow. Because it's fun to read, we're involved through the stand-in characters - our own or of those we know - and because that's what a Let's Play generally is, someone playing a game. It seems pretty obvious to me. The whole thing is fairly standard - in fact a large contigent of YouTube Partners (i.e. those who make money off YouTube videos) are simply Let's Players who film or record themselves playing a game and others watch.
  5. Words Wild Mages Fear: "Whoops, wrong target."
  6. I'm impressed that it's made in Unity. It looks great. Turns out they also got the creators of "Marble Hornets", the youtube ARG video series that popularized the Slenderman, on board writing the story. I'm thinking it'll be quite scary.
  7. They made an interesting trilogy of Batman films, but the thing that did disapoint was that at no point did they explore the element of the Dark Knight as a world class detective. Well, they tried a bit with The Dark Knight, with the Joker marking his next victims and all, but it was mostly him playing with the impossible high tech CSI gadgets (getting a fingerprint off a deformed bullet lodged in a wall). Nolan said that's what they were doing, literally using the term "worlds greatest detective". Failed at it quite a bit.
  8. For most of the running time it can't seem to decide whether it wants to be faithful to the tone of the book (child friendly) or to the tone of the Lord of the Rings movies (epic). I felt it succeeded at both in equal measure, which isn't to say it did it perfectly. The film had a lot of flaws but I enjoyed it a lot. I never noticed the running time - it had a slow beginning but after that time seemed to fly. Not sure what else to tell you, I'd comment on "Harry Potterish" if it wasn't for the fact that every Harry Potter movie had a completely different feel. Now that series is disjointed. I saw it twice, 24f 3D and 48f 3D. I barely even noticed the difference - I had to check if it was actually the HFR showing. I noticed clearer picture and nothing else. Not sure what all the fuss is about.
  9. Not only was I epic, but I am also a terrible actor in a terrible movie who still made a lot of money and makes the ladies moist. It was a good day for me. I'll gladly pass off the title of "Dead Weight" to Pidesco until he levels up some more. I can't believe your luck when it comes to wild surges. I've never had that much bad luck in a single battle. :/ This is seriously one my favourite lets plays ever.
  10. Wasn't Epic Mickey similarily supposed to be much darker and more befitting of the title before it was repurposed into the turd it was? Seems like Disney was trying to explore what they could do with their franchises but changed their minds.
  11. Holiday sales! Whelp, there goes my money.
  12. That hurts my lack of armor.
  13. Oh thank God, I was afraid I'd be out before ever getting to shapeshift - actually, I predicted I'd die before getting out of Irenicus Dungeon so I already made it longer than I expected. Still, BG2 has such an amount of difficult encounters still in store that the best I'm hoping for is a single Shapeshift. Truly a gimped class. Actually, I don't know, is the version you're using with the fixed ruleset? Then I might actually be able to carry, not my own, but maybe half of my own weight. Also, I'll get you yet Calax. Calling me a weakling!
  14. It's not my law, I'm not from the U.S. and speaking as an outside observer the Court shouldn't be allowed to go to the bathroom with strict supervision.
  15. What concerns me more than the bolded part is the idea that you should consider why you want to get back in the family. Blood is blood - there is a difference between not being part of a social circle that includes family and not being family. That you are apparently considered out is cause for concern. As I said before, it demonstrates that they will either pretend that what they don't like does not exist or matter or alternatively rely on or put the pressure on so it will be removed for them. Everything I'm seeing here shows a stubborn unwillingness to acknowledge the problem, let alone deal with it. The fact that he mentions winning suggests he considers this a fight - you either win or lose. I'm sincerely doubting there is any intention to compromise or attempt to make peace on their part. It's pretty thinly veiled as a "my way or the highway" type ultimatum and trying to get them to consider otherwise is probably a very, very long road. I truly I hope I'm wrong, however, and in any case I wish you all the best in this situation. I'm in a similar position as your wife with my inlaws and I know it's quite difficult to deal with.
  16. is no real fence worth straddling at the moment. 2nd Amendment precludes much in the way o' meaningful gun control options. times and weapons have changed since founders penned the Bill o' Rights. that not change the fact that the founders were no doubt wanting private citizens to have weapons with which to defend themselves not only from foreign armies, indians (our relatives insist that indians is the pc term nowadays for native americans... so confusing) and the infrequent rabid possum, but also to defend self from the US government. option is to change 2nd Amendment... which currently seems unlikely. never forget that what we gots here in the US is a revolutionary government and a Bill o' Rights that were revealing a very deep lack o' faith that the fed powers would effective protect our freedom and liberty. these infrequent tragedies, such as one in CT, are wonderful for getting folks riled up 'bout gun control, but is all sound and fury. change 2nd Amendment. oh, and keeps in mind that gun control laws in norway is relative strict. didn't keeps anders breivik from killing... we forget how many. more than 70? HA! Good Fun! ps we personally think it is stoopid for folks to have handguns and ak-47s n' such. this ain't personal. this is the law. the Constitution gots a process for being changed. gonna have to change to do something meaningful. The problem is that the second amendment is maddeningly unclear, undefined and unhelpful. It can be twisted to fit any whim and in fact constantly is - I'm pretty sure that less than a percent of people defending it have ever read it and those who have still don't have an understanding of the word "regulated". Sadly it seems to be the point of the laws in the US to be as ridiculous and outdated as possible. The world evolved and the American justice system did not. I'm glad I don't have to be subjected to its arbitrary stupidity.
  17. Interesting that they declined. In my experience that generally means that they don't want to deal with their problems and are instead trying to coax you into removing them (in this case your wife) for them. I may be jumping the gun there though - I have no patience for this kind of thing.
  18. Yep, and I catch and train them myself.
  19. I kind of gave up on reading after the wine complaint. My first impression is that not your wife but their judgemental attitude and pettiness are the problem, and that is just what it is - their problem. Furthermore, that letter demonstrates the expectation of adaptation to expectations that were never told. An unrealistic and poor expectation on the part of your father. What I saw I would consider totally unreasonable. You have every right to be angry. In this situation, I would likely just say something like "I refuse to take responsibility for your expectations and if you decide to make a problem out of it that is one hundred your decision." However, it's probably not smart to listen to me since generally my way of dealing with problems like these rubs people the wrong way and while I have no problem with people being angry at me (their anger, their problem) I can't say the same for you.
  20. Haha, I actually have quite a good relationship with my parents - I do think it about my 'in-laws' very, very often though. I spend some train rides willing their hearts to explode.
  21. I just crash my computer and yell obscenities at my screen a lot. Getting ready to move. Since the place I lived in was a dump, I'm actually quite relieved, even if me and my girlfriend of six years have to temporarily live at my parents place until we find a place of our own - which I'm sadly waitlisted for due to there being more people who want to rent homes than there are homes to rent.
  22. I've always enjoyed the Planar Sphere, Firkraag's Quest and the d'Arnise Keep but honestly my first stop is always the circus to kill that goddamned gnome and steal his items. They're quite nice for how ridiculously easy that section is. Plus, I get to stab an ogre in the face in the full knowledge of who it really is.
