  1. This is without a doubt the worst thing I've ever seen parading around as a protip.
  2. That's not how Game of Thrones works. You don't get satisfying moments like that. If Joffrey suffers the ill effects of Melisandre's spell like Robb did, it's going to be a bad guy who offs him. Then a sympathetic character will take the blame and get killed for it.
  3. I thought some of the episodes this season dragged. The show suffers from too many characters. The first three FULL episodes of this season was nothing but short "where are they now after last season" vignettes and almost nobody got character development. I'm actually thinking killing off a bunch of characters is the best thing for this show and they shouldn't stop at The Red Wedding. Thankfully since Robb kicked the bucket after Melisandre's spell, I'm thinking Joffrey is about to throw off his mortal coil as well and with him would come another major upheaval.
  4. The thing is, George R.R. Martin is actually a staff writer, he wrote one episode every season and they double check everything with him. So that theory, by nature of them doing it differently, is thereby pretty definitively Jossed.
  5. I honestly thought that was a nude midget. I'm not seeing it. Could you explain how with a full diagram?
  6. He's not the main character, though. The main characters will have an amaaaaaaaaaaaazing package to deliver to all his fine wenches.
  7. Uhh... not showing boobs is mainstream now? I half agree with this. I very much enjoy seeing the droplets of sweat on a hot and steamy woman's heaving sweater meat, yet I do not enjoy a game developer banging me over the head with a pair of boobs and a pretty face that is obviously only there for the fap fantasies. So - yes to sexy whenever it fits in context (i.e. many fantasy games serve as wish fullfillment, idealized bodies and tight outfits are a bit of a prerequisite), no to blatant objectification. The problem is a lot of people don't seem to know the difference and just go "boobs? sexism!" INB4 "MISANDRY MISANDRY"
  8. Fair enough. Weird though, because the copy I sent you did get redeemed. Somehow.
  9. So is Batman. /(_M_)\ | | \/~v~\/
  10. Pretty sure you redeemed it, since if I try to send you another copy it says you own the game already. Check your game library.
  11. I don't even have 25 friends and the ones that do have the game already, so out of 25 copies I'm sure I can spare one. PM me an e-mail you want me to send it to and I'll hook you up. That goes for anyone else who would like a free copy of a game that is ridiculously easy to find for free.
  12. Not sure why they'd give them to me otherwise. EDIT: Ninja'd! The only people I know who don't have this game already don't have Steam Accounts.
  13. Um, Steam, I appreciate it, but what am I going to do with TWENTY FIVE copies of Dota 2?
  14. I would like to refer you to entry number 2. Of course the book is going to be better. I've never read the books*, though, and I don't have any of these issues that people here bring up, so I can say it's damn good TV. Also, I know what the Rains of Castamere is from Cersei describing it, but I had no idea what it sounded like (was it sung once back in season 1?). Hence, the significance of the song that was played during the "wedding" is lost regardless. Some things just don't translate from a book. *Not entirely accurate, I quit halfway through book one because it was terrible. I find the show lacks focus - if they had filmed it as written, it would be completely and unwatchably boring. I do not enjoy having to take notes just to remember the names of unimportant characters.
  15. Perhaps, I don't know what the sales have been of the latest couple, yet I somehow doubt it.
  16. Even if there was a lack of big titles for PC (which there's not) there are countless much more interesting small titles available. With the variation and innovation seen in the thriving indie development scene and the stagnation of everything-must-be-CoD consoles, I'd say PC gaming is the only one which is still alive.
  17. It's simplistic to say they caused the dark ages, but Christianity was a part of the fall of Rome, the defacto start of the dark ages and it certainly was a contributing factor to the lack of knowledge and surplus of bloodshed during that time. The problem with proving or disproving that claim is that there is no real definition of the "dark ages", but considering the Christian church fought pretty much all progress throughout history since the decline of the Roman Empire I'd say he's accurate enough, hyperbole aside. That's neither here nor there, however, because the point that has been made that Christianity was historically evil* is about the most irrelevant thing in this thread. If your response against veiled accusations that Islam is evil* is "well, Christians weren't sweethearts for all of history either" then you need better arguments, specifically arguments that do not actually confirm what you're arguing against in the first place. *Hyperbole, just in case no one realized. I will not generalize Muslims or Christians as evil because I am not a moron.
  18. Warm Bodies, which was entertaining but I feel they could have done more with the concept. For those who were worried it was Twilight with Zombies, don't worry. Tongue remains firmly in cheek throughout the film.
  19. Yeah, it seems to happen faster if there are more people around.
  20. It's not unheard of. The symbol far predates the Nazis.
  21. Wow, somebody died and people here turned it into a way to push their nationalist and gun politics. Stay classy, people. Drowsy Emperor, I'm guessing you have some history there, but from your current posts looks like you're saying that Muslims as a whole are by default monstrous objects instead of individuals ("Imported"? Really?). Somehow, you see this particular one murder out of thousands of murders with horrid motives as a political issue. I doubt you'd have been so angry if you read about another race bashing somewhere in the U.S., so you have no right to play the high horse card here especially since your view of Muslims is obviously so very, very much the same as their view of you. Thanks for implying that the Europeans of this small niche community are responsible for literally ancient government decisions, by the way. I accept personal responsibility for wars from before I was old enough to vote. Thanks for making me see the light by showing me through the eyes of the one true victim.
  22. My heartfelt condolences. I lost my grandmother past sunday but I can't even imagine what losing your mother is like - let alone dealing with such a long battle. I'm willing good thoughts to you. So I'm a bit of a message board junkie (member of about twenty) and decided to cut out most of my message board accounts because it's cutting far into my productivity and honestly, a bit into my sanity. I decided to keep three in total - two for practical reasons like kickstarter backer access, secret illegal concert bootleg access (so secret you guys didn't even read this) and this place, because you guys are awesome. This is one of the smartest communities I've come across and the only one that makes me feel like a better person for being a part of it. So, uh, keep up the good work.
  23. Huh, I found Anansi Boys to be the most entertaining thing he's written because he injected it with some more comedy. Weirdly, the thing about Gaiman is that artists seem to enjoy his work more than anyone else. I think it's because a lot of his storytelling is built around evoking imagery. Essentially the Guillermo del Toro of the literary world - everything "looks" great and showcases great imagination, but sometimes lacking in emotional resonance or climax.
